LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Digital Beckley is a professional design and development firm that creates business and enterprise class web sites for our clients.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
The web site will be composed of a single dynamic web page devoted to directing end users to either Heritage Equipment (www.heitrucks.com) or to Heritage International (www.bwabintl.com will be rebranded in a future project).
The overarching parent company is Heritage Truck Centers.
The site administrator will be able to manage limited textual content and primary images.
This type of web site will be referred to as the universal gateway. The site will support both target web sites equally in respects to visual and textual content. A balance will be designed to provide a call-to-action either in a vertical or horizontal format.
To optimize the likelihood of a potential customer contacting either organization, only a hyperlink these same organizations will be provided. Detailed and interactive contact information is to be handled ONLY on the respective target web sites.
MONITOR RESOLUTION CONSIDERATIONS
The GUI should be designed to fit on a 1024px wide screen (working width is about 980+/- pixels).
The site will need to fit on a 1024x768 monitor. Height is not critical, however it is expected the design should accommodate vertical scaling/liquid growth as the client adds content - increasing the perceived height of the design.
MENU / NAVIGATIONAL ELEMENTS
There is no menu system for this site. Only calls-to-action will be utilized as the navigational process. Users will be prompted to select 1 of 2 possible target web sites. These links will be both graphical and textual.
The site owner needs to have at least 2 photo areas displayed. Each photo placement will represent 1 company or the other in conjunction with the pertinent logo.
The design will literally split the graphical user interface in half, either vertically or horizontally. The overreaching branding is the parent companys identity. Heritage Truck Centers is the parent company that will direct traffic to either their newly acquired International brand or to the Heritage Equipment site.
COLOR / THEMEING
Color Suggestions: Base the site colors on the colors used within the logos provided. The artist is free to provide his/her own color themes.
Each delineated section should capitalize on the color branding of the targeted brands based on the logos.
The artist should be as creative as possible while maintaining a corporate industrial or heavy industrial type of interface.
VISUAL AND TEXTUAL ELEMENTS
The Site shall accommodate an area for allowing the client to display central or header style images devoted to the product (heavy trucks). The client will upload images that will become the focal point of the interface. These images may either fade in/out OR be selected from a list for random display on each page load.
An area will be provided for the client to add limited textual content. This is most likely restricted to 1 paragraph or less (including a header). The textual placement should within or adjacent to the prominent visual images or logos.
Only logos for Heritage Truck Centers, Heritage Equipment, and Heritage International will be presented to end users. The delineated sections shall ONLY represent the respective logo.
Natural text areas or text that is not a graphic when in production should utilize default native families such as Arial, Verdana, Helvetica or other sans-serif fonts.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Purchasers or owners of heavy duty trucks, including over-the-road and off-road vehicles.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
The basic design should be based on the site found at www.heitrucks.com OR something similiar using some of the existing design elements. The creative is NOT limited to just that site for inspiration, but the 'theme', 'ambience', and 'overall feel' should remain constant.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
All three logos should be prevalent, with Heritage Truck Centers provided domainance. The other 2 are equal in importance.
