What do you do?
Aviesta is a Latino community marketplace where we bring exclusive products to our member reviewers and ask them for their opinions. If they like the products, we then negotiate a great price with the manufacturer and, in turn, pass the huge savings to our members for a limited time (Of course, if the product gets poor reviews, we don't sell it!). We showcase approved products using videos we create, along with reviewer videos from our members. Whether it's fashion, beauty, home or lifestyle products, our community decides what's great and what's not.

What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your landing page
We are primarily serving Latino women. We want a lighthearted, fun, sassy site. It needs to have a bit of a "Southern Cali" feel to it. Not too serious, not to corporate. Should feel stylish, but NOT haute-couture, NOT stuck-up.
Sales come and go quickly on our site, so there needs to be a bit of energy to the design.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your landing page?
We need an overall aesthetic that we can then also use for our daily HTML blasts, as well as unique iconography and design elements for buttons, backgrounds, promotions -- places where we can express our personality.
We like the way that dailycandy.com uses hand-drawn items -- people, products, etc... -- but we don't want to copy them.
We'd like to see fun colors, and establish a palette that's NOT all pink.
We are NOT a Mexican brand. Avoid Mexican or Latino cliches.
In the main homepage section, we will scroll through images and videos in the main section and will need to have a method for scrolling through the items. Perhaps as dots that fill in to indicate there are several items.
How is your company different from your competitors?
None at this time.
Style and Concept
What landing page design styles do you like?
there are not a lot of sites that we *love*. Most sites are very basic and clean -- not a lot of personality to them. We would like to have a bit of personality to ours. But not so much personality that it gets in the way of functionality. This site still needs to sell great products at great prices to succeed.
our business is like:
www.gilt.com (this design is too sophisticated though)
ruelala.com (design is OK, but not too interesting)
thefoundary.com (design is a little masculine)
1stdibs.com (design is OK)
What colors do you want to see in your landing page?
We have a logo, but aren't set on the colors yet.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your landing page?
We have a logo, but aren't set on the colors yet.

Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?
We have uploaded a wireframe for the homepage to give you a sense of what needs to be on the homepage. You'll see we use a lot of video on the page. We sell products by having videos about the products, as well as video reviews from our members. Design must accommodate space for these players.
We sell products in beauty, wellness, fashion, jewelry, and home/kitchen. you can use temporary photos for items for now.
VERY IMPORTANT: about the uploaded wireframe: it doesn't have to match this exactly. But it does need to have a place for several videos and several promotions. There needs to be some text, but the homepage is designed to attract members. Once someone is a member, they are unlikely to visit the homepage again because we will be sending them an email about a specific product on sale and when they click on the email, they will be directed to the specific page on our site where the product is being sold.
