Creative brief

Business Name

Mad Propper

What do you do?

We are a party prop rental business. We create custom, elaborate props for rental. We also make handmade party favors and gifts.

How many pages of illustration do you need?

single illustration

What do you need illustrated?

We are looking for an illustration of "The Mad Propper," who would be our company mascot. We see her as a character who is a bit of a mix of Mary Poppins and The Mad Hatter. Basically a very stylish, put-together woman with creative accessories. We would like to see her in suit of some kind- pants or skirt, with a hat or fascinator. I've included a rough sketch that we created, in which she is wearing a teacup fascinator and holding a walking stick, but we could also see her with an umbrella, like Mary Poppins.

Does your illustration need to be a particular size?

No particular size, but needs to be able to be sized for business cards, stationary and our website.

What is your industry?

Describe the target audience for your illustration

Women aged 25-45, engaged, married, with children. Middle to upper class. Interested in entertaining, decorating.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your illustration?

- We have a strong creative focus
- We design whimsical products
- Our attention to detail & refined style

What lillustration styles do you like?

We LOVE the simple lines and fashion of the iconic Henri Bendel girls, and we would like something that echoes their general style but a bit more finished and realistic-looking.

We particularly like the girl in the center of this design.

What colors do you want to see in your illustration?

We would like her to have darker brown hair and brown eyes.
Any traditional suiting colors like black, grey or navy, with pops of brighter colors, particularly red.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your illustration?

What adjectives should best describe your illustration?

colorful, playful, creative, streamlined, refined

Where will you use the illustration (print, website, etc.)?

website, business cards, print ads
