Our target audience is potential new candidates interested in joining Microsoft in any of the countries we operate. The Twitter feed helps us to engage people and to tell stories about Microsoft as an employer of choice to a variety of people. In the US, the majority of people we hire are in software engineering roles (e.g. software developers, testers, program managers) although we have opportunities in the US and worldwide across all professions, including sales, marketing, professional services (e.g. legal, finance, HR, business operations), consulting and more.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your lillustration?
Microsoft has a diverse population of smart and passionate people, and gives them a cool, socially responsible environment to work in, with autonomy and industry-leading perks and benefits.
Microsoft offers a huge range of interesting opportunities and career experiences around the globe employees have opportunities to work on an unparalleled variety of products and/or services here.
Our commitment to R&D and position in the market gives employees the chance to work at the cutting edge on products that impact millions of people around the world every day.
Style and Concept
What lillustration styles do you like?
We dont want to restrict your creativity; instead wed rather stay open to any initial submission and provide more detailed feedback along the way to fine-tune your proposals. That said, we would prefer if the main focus of the design was not hidden under the tweet stream as that can be distracting to readers. Feel free to interpret your (positive!) perceptions of what it would be like to work at Microsoft. :-)
What colors do you want to see in your illustration?
We have three color palettes that we use in our branded staffing materials, which we have included in the attached Word doc version of this brief.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your illustration?
No restrictions although current brand palette is provided in the attached and wed prefer to use colors in the palette.
What adjectives should best describe your illustration?
Fresh, innovative, cool, high tech, inspiring, impactful, collaborative, social, and friendly - gives a sense of energy, optimism and aspiration. Think intellectual but not arrogant; approachable but not overbearing; optimistic but realistic; passionate but not overbearing; casual even a little quirky (but without trying too hard to be funny or cool) but definitely competent. We want to avoid designs that look too corporate, outdated or stiff.
