What do you do?

N/A

How many pages of illustration do you need?

Single Illustration

Does your illustration need to be a particular size?

Final artwork will be printed as a christmas card roughly 8.5" by 5.5". Artwork can be created in either portrait or landscape.

Target Audience

What is your industry?

N/A

Describe the target audience for your illustration

Our friends and family, but the real audience is myself...as I've mostly commissioned to capture the history of my family.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your lillustration?

1. A loving family having adventures worth remembering
2. I love Christmas, so the art must be Christmas themed.
3. A unique artists touch. I also love art and want this to be as much about the artist as it is about my family. I hope to commission a new piece of art each year and want each piece to stand alone as a great piece of art.

Style and Concept

What lillustration styles do you like?

No particular favorite. 2 years ago I hired a great caricature artist to do this, and I'd like something different and unique each year, so I guess I'd say just not caricature style. Anything else is fair game.

What colors do you want to see in your illustration?

Any colors are fine, I do not want to limit the artist.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your illustration?

Any colors are fine, I do not want to limit the artist.

What adjectives should best describe your illustration?

Christmas-y, fun

Where will you use the illustration (print, website, etc.)?

this artwork will be used as my Christmas card and printed and framed in my home

Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?

2 years ago I commissioned a great caricature artist to make me a Christmas card. You can see it here:
http://www.zaske.com/our-2008-christmas-...

I loved it and would like to do it again this year with another great artist, in his own style. The purpose of the art is to celebrate my family, and the year of adventures we've had in 2010. You're typical family Christmas card.

Crowdspring seemed like a good way to accomplish this. I'm looking for art, not particularly an "illustration", so if someone wants to do watercolors, acrylic paint or pens, that is fine with me. I don't want it to look digital.

Illustration should include the 4 people in my family. Myself, my wife, son (age 5) and daughter (age 3).

photos of my family can be found here:

Other considerations. I'm trying to capture my families 2010 year, so bonus points for people who are able to incorporate the events that happened in my families life this year. Those events would be:
1. Wife running her first marathon
2. 3 year old daughter loving her favorite lion stuffed animal (pictures of it can be seen in the photos I shared)
3. Son loving any stick he sees. He sneaks them into his room and "collects" them. They all turn into "guns". What is it with boys and sticks/guns?
4. Son starting Kindergarden
