LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Four Winds * Westward Ho is an independent, not-for-profit, traditional, residential summer camp for children located on Orcas Island, in Washington State's San Juan Islands. The camp has been in operation since 1927, offering two four week long session for children going into grades 4-10 and a one week long Junior Session for children entering grades 2-5. Our focus in is on community, simplicity, and creativity. Activities include all manner of sports, gardening, English and Western horseback riding, visual and performance art, music, sailing and other waterfront activities, and a multi-day trip program.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need background art for our twitter page (which we've reserved, but on which we haven't tweeted yet). According to twitter, the image must be smaller than 800k and must be in GIF, JPG, or PNG format.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our campers, parents, and alumni. They range in age from very young to elderly. We want the background to be simple, clean, and professional, and we also want it to convey a sense that we're a traditional summer camp. To get a better sense of who we are, flipping around our website (www.fourwindscamp.org) would be advisable.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
I've attached two of the various logos we use, which can be incorporated into the design. If used, the Gypsy Star.jpg should be edited so as to not look so pixilated. One design vision that we would be interested in seeing would be simply a navy blue background with the WHC logo (2).jpg in white in the top left. This would be the same design as our boys' uniform shirts, which you can see on our website. Other potential design elements would be an outline of Orcas Island, a compass rose, a sailboat, or an "est. 1927" line.
Generally speaking, I like twitter backgrounds with a top left orientation and a simple colored background. See twitter.com/garyvee, twitter.com/mailchimp, twitter.com/studio3k, and http://twitter.com/ridlo (I provide these for twitter background comparison - these do not look Four Winds-y at all).
I very much dislike twitter backgrounds that tile.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
