What do you do?
Develop custom software for other companies
How many pages of illustration do you need?
Please see the attched images for a description
What do you need illustrated?
We're creating a software configurator for a company that produces medical furniture (such as dental chair, hospital beds, treatment couches), which are operated using actuators (electric driven motors that can make parts of the bed move individually in two directions)
Does your illustration need to be a particular size?
The should preferably be vector based (so we can scale the exported images as we need). We need the images as both the vector format (so they can be editited/tweaked afterwards) as well as high resolution (e.g. 2560x1600) transparent background PNG's
What is your industry?
Health Care and Biotech
Describe the target audience for your illustration
The target audience are the sales people that will use the configurator to combine different parts of a bed/chair to make the exact combination of movements that they need.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your illustration?
The images must be visually simple and visualize what type of furniture they're building, by focusing on the moving parts.
Style and Concept
What lillustration styles do you like?
The images should be "stickman" drawings with a 3D perspective (like the shown examples). It's important that the drawings are simple and clarly convey what type of movement is supported visually. They musn't resemble reallife objects (like real beds) too much (like with textures and other details that are irrelevant)
It's very important that chairs are made out of two layers (that our application can overlay): Frame and Deck
It's very important that the beds are made out of 3 layers (that our application can overlay): Feet, Frame and Deck.
This means that the drawings we want out of this must be individual drawings of different feet types, different frame types and different deck types.
The examples that we have provided show arrows. These are used to show which part moves and for the frame also the number of motors that move.
The images produced must NOT include these arrows but there must be room for the arrows to be overlayed by the software + making space for a sqarebox close to arraw which will contain textual description (in the application this box will be clickable and can allow for configuration of the actuator that the arrow represents)
We would also like arrow designs (one of the examples shows the type of arrows we need).
The arrows should have a dark blue color
What colors do you want to see in your illustration?
Black (maybe shades of gray) with a transparent background. The application which will overlay and display the images will use a white background color.
For arrows (which should also be individual images) we want a dark blue color
What colors do you NOT want to see in your illustration?
All other colors than black (and maybe shades of gray color) + blue for the arrows
What adjectives should best describe your illustration?
Simple, simple, simple. 3D perspective should be used to better visualize the moving parts
Where will you use the illustration (print, website, etc.)?
Inside a web based application
Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?
Think hospital beds, treatment coches and dental chairs.
The colors must match those found on http://www.linak.com/
