LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Jigsaw (www.jigsaw.com) is a directory of company and contact records that is built by a community of over 900K business professionals. (Think Wikipedia for business directories). Go check out the site for a better understanding (www.jigsaw.com).
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need an illustration of a "cartoon-like" character named Normalizer. (Note: This is the sixth project in this series. PuzzleMaster, CrawlMaster and Reaper are already done and awarded. You'll need to look closely at all three projects - attached).
We have six internal technologies. They are called:
This project is just for Normalizer. These characters will be known externally (on our website and in our marketing literature) as "The Superheros of Jigsaw Data Quality". There are two other open projects for this series - Pinger and Super DeDuper.
PuzzleMaster's job is to piece together partial data.
CrawlMaster's job is to crawl the web for information.
Reaper's job is to graveyard contacts that are no longer at a company.
Pinger's job is to ping domains to see if they are alive (websites and SMTP domains)
Super DeDuper's job is to find duplicate records and fix them
Normalizer's job is to standardize and normalize data records
So for this project I need Normalizer. This character can be male or female. The metaphor is that Normalizer standardizes or normalizes data records. For example, we may have a record that has a title VP of Sales. Another with the title Vice Pres. of Sales and another with V.P. - Sales. These are all the same titles. Normalizer would automatically change them all to Vice President of Sales (as an example).
It is critical that each of these six characters has its own personality. But, they all MUST be of the same style. They must fit together as a group. I have attached a picture of the three that are done: PuzzleMaster, CrawlMaster and Reaper.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our customers/members are mostly sales people, with a lot of recruiters, marketers and small business owners. We want you to think of Jigsaw as disruptive, fun, but NOT silly or adolescent. We compete with big, "old school" brands in the information industry. We want to be viewed as clearly different - light and fun, but also as a company that can be taken seriously.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
All the characters from The Incredibles.
To emphasize, each of these characters must have his/her own personality, but also must stay within a single style.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
Normalizer cannot be perceived as aggressive, edgy or violent. Characters like Batman, Spiderman, Superman, etc. are to "war-like". The Incredibles characters are softer and rounder - not threatening.
This character cannot be viewed as scary, threatening, mean or ugly. Use the three existing characters as your guide.
During the first three projects I got a lot of very edgy, aggressive illustrations. Some were of incredible quality, but weren't what I was looking for. I would strongly suggest you review the three prior projects carefully before spending time on Pinger, Super DeDuper or Normalizer.
Normalizer must be simple (clean lines) and fun, but at the same time not be silly, complicated, aggressive, mean, tough, etc.
Thanks for your time and consideration. I'm looking forward to seeing your design!
