LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We're looking for a logo for our new membership site that would incorporate a mascot. Our audience consists of children's book writers, so we definitely need a whimsical, colorful touch.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A simple logo that includes an illustration of our desired mascot. The mascot is "The Fightin' Bookworm". We envision him to be a green worm, with oversized glasses and a determined sneer on his face. He's wearing boxing gloves with his hands in a "put up your dukes" pose.
Incorporated in some way would be his motto "Gimme that Contract!" It could be on a t-shirt he's wearing, but we're open to creative solutions.
The bookworm is part of a logo that would include the website title "The CBI Clubhouse" and "Fightin' Bookworms" (without the quotation marks, of course)
We would also like the ability to create a B version of the logo that would be identical, but replace "The CBI Clubhouse" with "Children's Book Insider" If the text is layered, we can do that ourselves, though. So we just need the flexibility
The logo would be used on our new website -- www.cbiclubhouse.com -- and also on hats, t=shirts, mugs, etc.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Even though our customers are children's book writers, they are adults. So nothing too soft and baby-like. The essence of the character is incorporated in his name -- The Fightin' Bookworm. He's scrappy and takes no guff in his pursuit of a book contract.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
The following baseball team logos give a sense of the "bursting from the logo" feel we're looking for. I'm particularly taken with the first logo -- from the Aiken Foxhounds. That's really the overall feel we're shooting for:
