LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a family-owned and operated home builder located in the heart of suburban paradise in Omaha, Nebraska.

Here's the scoop: Our market has changed. The first-time home buyers are coming out in droves, and they seek new, fresh, exciting houses ... all the bells and wistles, with a price tag equally as jaw-dropping.

Break The Rules: Conventions no longer work. Home builders are going bankrupt all around us, and we need a brand that will shed a fresh, optimistic and innovative light on a deeply battered housing industry.

We are defining our company simply as "FBC Homes". We also have a brand for high-end estates, called "Fuller Building Company" but view FBC as our maintstream (bread and butter) homes.

Why You Should Get Excited:

The home building industry has always been very slow to change. Brands have always revolved around cute families, conservative values, sunrises & sunsets (see our last company), roofs, pillars ... think of any cliche, and you will find it in our industry.

This is fine. However this is NOT what we want to embody. Our business can't afford to stay mainstream in suburban America. We need a new logo and signage for a company that is desperately interested in breaking the mold.

We would like to see a full range of designs from conservative to bleeding-edge.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a new logo (and yard sign) design for our home building business. The logo will be on all marketing materials including flyers, websites, yard signs, billboards, etc. Our main applications will be the website and signage.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

First time home buyers. These are young families in their 30's interested in homes in the price range of $200k - $300k. Our buyers are typically husband and wife, both employed, with a few young children. We would like this logo to appeal to an audience that responds to the leading innovative businesses of their generation: ie: facebook, apple, blackberry, etc.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We would like optimistic colors. We like highly refined designs that are not over-worked. Modern, fresh, clean, and iconic are words that come to mind.

I like logos that feel up-to-date, modern and have a sense of identity all their own. Please embody these descriptive words into what you design:

* Inviting

* Trustworthy

* Innovative

* New, Fresh

* Iconic

* Optimistic

* Friendly

* Home

Need a jump start? Here's a good rule of thumb to follow:

Picture yourself walking down the sidewalk in a neighborhood. You see the model home row, and all the home builder yard signs in the front. You walk past FBC. Here's what I want you to say:

"Wow ... who are they? ... Why haven't I heard of them before? They look big enough ... Maybe they came from a much larger city ...We should definetly check them out"

"FBC ... here's a builder that understands my generation. THIS is what I've been looking for. A home builder that gets me."

"They look established ... trustworthy. .... very inviting"

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Our logo should stand on its own. You may play with the "FBC" letters, and/or create a new icon to include in the logo. Our logo should incorporate the "FBC Homes" text.
