Business Info

Business Name

Fit Pal

What do you do?

Fitness app for smartphones

How many pages of illustration do you need?

Three illustrations to bring to life a character who is the user's workout fitness buddy / personal trainer. One showing the character from the front, one showing the character running, and one showing the character giving positive feedback for a workout well done.

Does your illustration need to be a particular size?

Will display on a smartphone screen and websites - will display anywhere from 1''x1'' to 4''x4''

Target Audience

What is your industry?

Smartphone app and website

Describe the target audience for your illustration

Young american adults (college and 20's), both male and female. iPhone/iTouch owners who like to try new apps and promote ones they like (early adopters). People who would like to get in better shape but are intimidated or a little too lazy.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your illustration?

A character who helps guide the user through a series of workouts, and his personality is:
- Encouraging and endearing
- Energetic
- Very determined and a little edgy and spunky (not too sugary and goody two-shoes)

Style and Concept

What lillustration styles do you like?

Very simple and clean designs that still show personality and elicit emotional reactions. Maybe the character can be based on the classic "smiley" face. As rough examples (don't translate too literally and get boxed into a specific look!), I like how Angry Birds and the Barry the Gojee Berry bring simple characters to life.

Angry Birds (duh):

Barry the Gojee Barry (who? a character who represents a foodblog site called Gojee):

I'd also like the character to be able to display a wide range of looks and emotions, like these many spongebob faces (tho spongebob is totally the wrong style):

What colors do you want to see in your illustration?

Open to anything, but should appeal to both genders. In keeping with the principle of simplicity, don't use too many colors.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your illustration?

Not applicable

What adjectives should best describe your illustration?

Simple, memorable, makes you smile when you see it

Where will you use the illustration (print, website, etc.)?

website logos, in smartphone apps, eventually the character will also be animated

Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?

Don't use anime style please.
