In My Humble Opinion
What do you do?
Lifestyle blog aimed at working professionals between the ages of 28 and 35, living in the city, primarily female and affluent. We believe our user base will be made up of both single and married woman and men, people with some disposable income and are interested in making a home in the city.
This is not at Martha Stewart style blog, this is about being a good house wife.
This is about sharing inspirations and tips to help make your life in the city feel like a home but also about finding cool design pieces that allow you to create your unique style. It is about exploring styles and designs.
How many pages of illustration do you need?
1 - I want a character that can be used as a logo, but can also be used throughout the blog. The character needs to be versatile.
What do you need illustrated?
I was a cartoon style character of the blogger. The blog is anonymous, so this character will be the face of the blog.
The character needs to have several specific characteristics:
-female, brown hair, in her mid-thirties
-the character has a small black dog (cocker spaniel)
-The background should be stylish, potential at home.
-The character should have a laptop to convey she is a blogger
-The character should be stylish but not appear like a snob. Casual but classy
Does your illustration need to be a particular size?
It needs to be flexible, but mostly it will be used in a small format in either the header or in blog posts.
What is your industry?
Describe the target audience for your illustration
men & women (mostly woman), either single and attached, young professionals, affluent, intelligent, international, aged between 28 and 45. They live in the city.
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your illustration?
-A persona for the blog
-Someone stylish, in the know, credible, mature and likeable and modern
-A look and feel for the blog
Style and Concept
What lillustration styles do you like?
I have attached a few examples I think are interesting. My main issue with them however is that they are too girlie, the characters are too young looking, and they do not convey a mature style.
They also often include shopping bags... this is not a shopping site we are creating, it is a place to discover interesting styles and get inspired.
What colors do you want to see in your illustration?
I am open to colors but want to stay away from too much pink. It needs to be sophisticated.
Again, the drawing needs to be versatile, we need to be able to use it in different way so colors need to be able to be changed.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your illustration?
not too much pink
What adjectives should best describe your illustration?
Where will you use the illustration (print, website, etc.)?
