What do you do?
We are a young and rapidly growing start up in the playing field of dental healthcare. We have established a platform of proprietary technologies that are at the core of the enormous global market for dental restoration - white resin (tooth-coloured) fillings. These white fillings are rapidly becoming the dental restoration material of choice because of aesthetic, health and regulatory concerns surrounding silver amalgam fillings.
Mission Provide dentists with services that will give them confidence and evidence that they have properly polymerized (hardened) every resin filling; providing their patients with safe, effective and long-lasting dental restorations.
How many pages of illustration do you need?
Does your illustration need to be a particular size?
It is a Seasons Greetings Card to be emailed - so it must fit within the body of a standard email message or be a small enough file size to forward with ease.
What is your industry?
Dental Equipment manufacturers, researchers and educators.
Describe the target audience for your illustration
Our audience are those researchers, educators and manufacturers who work with "tooth coloured" (i.e. white) dental fillings and the LED Light Curing units (LCU's) used by dentists to cure this material i.e. turning the resin from a gum-like substance to a solid. They are well-educated, scientifically minded, and don't get a lot of jokes custom created for their area of expertise!
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your illustration?
Project Goal The goal of this project is to create a clean, simple, humorous Seasons Greetings Card that is a creative continuation of last years card The Calibration Choir (see attached)
We want the recipient to think about the pervasive problem of under-cured dental fillings, while being funny, and reinforcing our brand: MARC is the only scientifically accurate and clinically relevant way to ask and answer these fundamental questions central to curing dental fillings: How much energy do your resins require? and how much energy are you delivering? Very highly recommended: See our 2 minute introduction video on CuringResin.com to fully understand the issue.
Style and Concept
What lillustration styles do you like?
We are open to different design concepts. The card should feature our actual product (MARCtm), but the rest can blend real photos/be illustrated as you see fit. The general theme is "The Calibration Choir has Given the Soggy Bottoms the Blues".
What colors do you want to see in your illustration?
Our brand colours match the visible light spectrum between 385-500nM (i.e. green through to blue through to violet). Thematically our focus is on "soggy bottom blues". Because it is winter, white also works.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your illustration?
Bright colours i.e. yellow, orange. Red can be used as an accent colour.
What adjectives should best describe your illustration?
Humorous, on-brand, inside-joke, slightly geeky, mature audience, well educated, informative and illustrative (of a pervasive problem)
Where will you use the illustration (print, website, etc.)?
Email. Possibly some print.
Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?
Please review our attached creative brief for a more complete and precise description of the card.
