LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Probably not a typical project for crowdspring, but here goes... we are a records management consultancy that is building a web application to manage international records retention policy. Our business model is similar to iTunes. We maintain a very large database of legal information pertaining to regulatory requirements from all over the world (the music). Customers subscribe to our data and we deliver it over the internet into our software application (iTunes). Customer then organize our data along with other information about their organization using our software (playlists). It's pretty dry stuff, but at present, companies have to hire lawyers to research the data we sell. Our intention is to democratize the process.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

The attached files include html and jpg versions of the module we are currently working on. We need a designer to help us improve usability/readability by specifying better colors and fonts. Form should follow function as this is a business application. Greater usability will most likely lead to user satisfaction. Other elements on the page are completely open for suggestion. Particularly if this help improve the overall design.

You'll notice that the main tree grid has 4 levels. Each level is programmatically set to one of four colors. The top level (green) is particularly problematic. The view provided shows all 4 levels of the tree but it does not show the entire tree expanded; which could be as many as 5,000 rows total.

Also included in the attachment is the current company color pallet. There will likely be a follow on project to update our company website. Note: the company logo can not be changed.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Certified Records Managers in large corporate law firms. Very thoughtful, methodical specialists. Many have degrees in library sciences. Prior to using our software, most people have been using Microsoft Excel. We have seen some very nice and elaborate Excel spreadsheets!

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:

Colors that are pleasing to the eye. Colors and fonts that help the user easily consume the data and use the application.
