LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Blog title: Successitechs
Tagline: Your route from the server to the C-suite
Successitechs is a refocusing of an existing career-related blog. It will share info for IT professionals on how to advance within their organizations and actively manage their careers, from IT career paths, technology trends, to communications, management, leadership and strategic skills.
The overriding message will be that the site provides a road map for upwardly mobile IT pros to enhance their careers.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
Looking for a header that includes the title and tagline. It will be used only as a header for this Wordpress-based blog site.
A design that clearly reflects a computer/technical focus, is fresh and modern in appearance, and also reflects a heavy business focus will do well.
Words to describe look and feel: technology, professional, upwardly mobile, energetic, positive, strategic, corporate, personal.
Avoid design concepts that might evoke the following: bland, stodgy, cookie-cutter. Anything too edgy will likely not fit.
Content will include both "how to" pieces with a step by step (possibly flowchart-style) process, as well as discussion of technology trends and expert interviews.
There will be a slightly satirical tone to some of the pieces.
A successful design will communicate a clear personality for the brand and will reflect the mission of the site.
Because this is a new site I'm open to size/dimensions as long as it fits within best practices for being viewed online.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
IT professionals that are interested or currently on a management track. This includes both network admins and programmers, and all other IT specialties. The audience will likely skew male, age 25-50.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
http://www.spherion.com/careerblog/ - like the clean look, the fact that the color scheme is a bit unexpected, and the visual impact
http://positivesharing.com/ - again simple, clean, some complexity to the design without being cluttered. Wouldn't want to use a personal photo and think would lean more to the blue/green palette. Think the text should have more impact.
http://www.copyblogger.com/ - clean, impactful, unique without being boring. Not showy, but effective.
http://www.problogger.net/ - simple, clean, more of a "logo" approach, which is good. I'd like to see a "logo-izing" of the title, and a complimentary positioning of the tagline.
For all of these being primarily on white background, I'm not sure if that's what I'm looking for. Am open to both.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
Logo version of title, and tagline.
