LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are a Harley-Davidson dealership in the Chicago area, in business for over 80 years. This website banner is for our existing company website www.ilharley.com
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
I need a banner graphic for our website. This banner will be used in an existing WordPress template on a live site. I have the dimensions of the existing banner area (it's 960x120px currently) but I am open to other dimensions and other treatments of the banner area. I am interested in designs that are not blocky or blog-like.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our customers are Harley-Davidson riders. They love their motorcycle, riding and motorcycles in general. When they visit our website we want them to think about the fun of motorcycling and want them to know that they are on our website.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
I cannot say I've seen a website header for a motorcycle dealership that I like. It's easier to say what I do not like. I do not like blocky, cookie-cutter website headers. I do not want it to look like a blog. I do not want text rendered in the graphic.
I attached Headers.zip which is a sample of existing Harley-Davidson website headers. A couple are OK because they are different, most are bad because they're just rectangular collages. Basically this will save you the trouble of looking around at existing motorcycle website designs. It would probably be good to NOT look at motorcycle website design.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We need to have our logo incorporated into the website header. We want to see some of the following in the header image: Harley-Davidson motorcycles, people riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, something related to Chicago (is the skyline too cliche?), the open road, the fun of motorcycling, etc. Riding motorcycles is fun, and all kinds of people do it. We'd like our website header to reflect all these things.
I will need space to put our dealership name, address, phone and other text, probably horizontally, at the bottom of the header, but am open to all suggestions. I am also open to suggestions on revising the top portion of the website to allow interesting header ideas.
I have many high-quality stock images that can be incorporated into the design.
