LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are a well-known and trusted financial services brand thats jumping into the ID theft prevention category. Our first product is a free scoring system that will help customers understand just how at-risk they are of having their identity stolen.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
Your challenge is to visually articulate how this score looks and how it works.
There are scoring systems in-use already and widely understood in culture, both inside and outside the ID theft category, that use things such as numbers, letter grades, percentages, words or colors to illustrate a score.
For example, consumer credit scores are measured on a scale of 500 850 with 850 meaning you have perfect credit. Alternatively, the U.S. National Threat Level is articulated through a color scale with RED being Severe Threat and GREEN being Low Threat.
We need to design an ID theft risk score that can be universally understood and catch on in culture. Something iconic. You may use existing scoring systems as a launching point OR create a score that is completely new and unique. Whatever you do, your design solutions should look great and be easy-to-understand.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Anyone concerned about having their identity stolen. They want to know where they stand whether they are at high low risk and value advice on how to prevent identity theft from happening to them.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
Use the provided example (please download from MATERIALS) only as a generic reference point. This is a purposefully basic example intended only to illustrate how a complete design solution should include all the information necessary to give people the proper context to understand their score. We encourage you to not adhere to this design. Please see our note on the project activity board for further inspiration.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
Each one of your designs should answer these questions:
What does the score look like?
What is the scoring scale (which end is high risk and which is low risk)?
What information needs to be around the score to give it context?
We need to see a range of options. Theres a lot of creative ground to cover here. So know that youre free to submit multiple designs. Just ask yourself what will be unique? What will be ownable? How can you evolve current scoring systems into something proprietary, smart and visually compelling?
The brand is a trusted financial institution. So please keep tone in mind as you explore colors and typefaces. Think premium, clean, confident and classic. It should be appealing to look at. It should be iconic. It should look just as great on a poster as it would on a website . . . but please make sure it conveys a professional and trusted brand.
Please download and read the provided brief addendum. It will provide you with useful ID theft background that may help with your creative process.
