The use of stock art, purchased royalty-free images* and clip art is and always has been prohibited in crowdspring logo projects.
We require all work in logo projects to be original. This includes tracing or modifying stock art, clip art or royalty-free images, in whole or in part, in any way.
We have a zero tolerance policy towards users who break this rule. Any creative who submits stock art to a logo project will have their account removed immediately and permanently along with all the work that s/he has submitted to any projects on crowdspring. We take this very seriously and you should too.
If you submit a design that is not yours (ie. stock or copyrighted materials) you harm the client, yourself, crowdspring and our entire community. Such action violates crowdspring's Standards of Conduct for Creatives, our User Agreement, and you expose yourself to legal risk.
There are often specific restrictions on using royalty-free images for logo design, even though it may be appropriate and lawful to use royalty-free images in most graphic design projects. For example, iStockphoto prohibits the use of any royalty-free images purchased from their site for logo designs. This is stated very clearly in section 4(a)(4) of the iStockphoto license: "You may not … use any of the Content as part of a trade-mark, design-mark, trade-name, business name, service mark, or logo."
crowdspring does not allow the use of royalty-free images in logo design projects. No exceptions.
If you want to report a stock art violation in a logo project, please use the violation report link located under all entries, or contact us here.
