Top 10 questions from buyers
1. What types of design and writing projects can you post?
We offer many different categories in which you can post your graphic, web, industrial design and writing projects. More »
2. What are the difference between Silver, Gold and Platinum projects?
We are proud to offer three types of projects, one of which is perfect for you. If budget is your primary concern, then Silver projects are the best choice. Silver projects include full project management tools, payment and escrow features, a free legal contract, and a money back guarantee! Silver projects are great for companies that don't require privacy in their projects.
Many companies need additional privacy features and greater control over their projects. For example, if you are an agency, you're worried that your campaign may leak out before its time. If you are a startup, you're worried that the competition may get a peek at what you're up to. Gold projects include full project management tools, payment and escrow features, search engine exclusion, non-disclosure agreements, private creative brief (only visible to NDA signatories), a free legal contract, and a money back guarantee!
Some companies need even more privacy and control over their projects. Almost from the day we launched, many companies, brands, and advertising agencies have asked us if we can give them greater privacy features and greater control over projects. Platinum projects include full project management tools, payment and escrow features, search engine exclusion, non-disclosure agreements, private creative brief (only visible to NDA signatories), private gallery, participation control tools (allowing you to decide on a user-by-user basis, whether that user is admitted to your project), basic promotion, a free legal contract, and a money back guarantee! 3. How much will it cost to post your project?
All our projects have a minimum award amount (you'll decide on the amount of the awards you want to post in your project) and crowdSPRING charges a 15% fee on top of that along with a non-refundable listing fee. For example, if your project award is $400, then the total cost to you would be $400 plus a $60 commission plus the listing fee. We'll show you in both steps 2 and 3 of the form the exact amount you'll end up paying - there are no surprises.
4. What are search exclusion, private galleries and private briefs?
Depending on the type of project you select (SILVER, GOLD or PLATINUM), some of these features will either be included in the project listing fee - or you can purchase them a-la-carte.
search exclusion - selecting the search engine exclusion feature will keep your project details out of Google, Bing and other other search engines. Google and other search engines index all of our Silver projects, but not our Gold or Platinum projects. That said, ALL project titles are indexed - including Gold and Platinum - so don't put any sensitive information in your title no matter what type of project you post. We do offer a search engine exclusion feature on Silver projects for a small additional fee.
private gallery - with a private gallery, only the buyer can see all of the submissions. This means they are completely hidden from prying eyes - not even the participating creatives will see one another's entries; only their own entries will be visible in the gallery and no one else's.
private brief - if the information you want to post in your project is confidential or sensitive, we'll show a short public overview to the general public and a separate private brief to only those who you specifically approve.
5. What's the difference between basic and advanced promotion?
We can help you to promote your project to our community. We offer two types of promotions:
basic promotion - attract more creatives and more entries with a listing on our homepage - seen by hundreds of thousands of people every month - and a highlighted listing on our Browse page, where creatives go to find projects.
advanced promotion - if you want your project to really stand out, then this is for you. We'll list your project on our homepage - seen by hundreds of thousands of people every month - and a highlighted listing on our Browse page, where creatives go to find projects PLUS we'll include your project in a special Featured Projects newsletter we send to tens of thousands of creatives every week and a private email inviting the most successful creatives in your project category to participate in your project.
Basic promotion is optional in Silver and Gold projects and is included (no additional cost) in the listing fee for Platinum projects. Advanced promotion is optional and available in Silver and Gold projects.
6. Why should you consider hiding the gallery in your project?
A hidden gallery means that the buyer is the only user who can see all of the entries submitted; participating Creatives will only see their own entries. This protects your project and entries from "prying eyes." This feature is included in Platinum projects at no additional cost and can also be purchased as a separate upgrade in Silver and Gold projects. If you're not concerned with privacy, revealing the gallery may help your Creatives to work towards your vision, as they will be able to see how other's have approached your creative brief.
7. How important is it for you to provide feedback in your project?
We see a direct correlation between the quantity and quality of a Buyer's feedback and the number and quality of submissions. Buyer's who respond to submissions with helpful and constructive criticism get the best results. This plays directly into one of our mantras: Give feedback early - give feedback often! The more feedback you can give on every single entry, the better. Tell them what you like, what you do not like and what they can do to get closer to what you're looking for. Then, guess what - they'll do it! Be sure to score EVERY entry. We know, we know - some of them aren't what you're looking for at all. But you've gotta do it. Just be fair and be specific. And remember, projects that have feedback on every entry get an average of 300 to 500 more entries than other projects.
8. How do you score the entries in your project?
Do not throw around scoring like candy. Typically there will be very few "4" ratings and even less "5" ratings - generally the eventual winner. More »

10. What if you don't like any of the entries in your project?
