What does your company do?

Our Vision: Educating today for a renewable energy future.

TREC Education is a registered Canadian charity that inspires and educates youth across Ontario in the science and importance of renewable energy and energy conservation - vital in creating systemic change for a greener future and fostering the next generation of renewable energy leaders.

We primarily work with elementary students to deliver our education programs, but also work with young adults and first nations youth.

We visit schools, community events and host festivals where we use hands-on learning to teach people about the science and benefits of renewable energy and energy conservation.

Our charity gives kids the ability to act locally and think globally to make real change. Together, we’re personally engaging students and community members in renewable energy. Our workshops give kids the opportunity to design and build devices that are powered by solar or wind energy. The devices built by the student groups will be displayed and installed in community spaces – engaging whole communities in the possibility of a renewable present and future.

Describe your customers

We have several audiences.

1) Teachers

We sell our education programs to teachers, who would benefit from our classroom science workshops and field trips to renewable energy sites. We see ourselves as experts in renewable energy education for all ages.

2) Individual donors/General Public

As a registered charity, we are always seeking donors to help support our program delivery and participate in a renewable future. We hold several fundraising events throughout the year for the environmental sector and general public. Our general audience would be green-minded individuals, people interested in energy conservation and sustainable energy, etc.

3) Partners and Sponsors

Our Partners and Sponsors are very important to ensuring we can deliver our education programs to the public, and continue to support our team as a small charity.

Brief updates

- I'm curious about expanding the options by trying to use words like "sustainable" or "green" energy.

- Doesn't need to be a combo/made-up name open to 2-4 word name if it better describes our organization.

We're a charity organization, so choosing a name that better describes that aspect too. We do education programs. Our focus is renewable energy.

It shouldn't sound like a corporate company.

No one has tried this yet, but using the word "current" in the name..

current describes electricity moving, as well as wind and water (which are both renewable sources).

Go for it creatives!

Thinking outside the box for words like this, are what I'm most attracted too. Not the combo of two mashed together

Hey creatives!

Thank you all for your entries. As this is a re-branding for an entire charitable organization I will need time to consult with my colleagues and our board of directors before choosing a winner. As I'm sure you can all appreciate, this will take some time as we have many projects on the go, and the internal process of re-branding is complicated.

I'll keep you guys in the loop to let you know how it's going.
