Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

What does your company do?

We are a full-service home improvement company located in Long Island, New York. We specialize in kitchens, bathrooms, extensions, windows, and basement finishing. What makes us different is we are both a "designer" and "builder". We send a designer to custom design every project and all construction is done within our company. We don't hire subcontractors, so you know who is working on your house at all times.

Do you require that a .COM or other URL be available for the new name?

I will accept a .com with an acceptable variation on the exact name

What is your industry?

Real Estate and Construction

Describe your customers

Our demo is mid-high end market. Baby-boomers and dual-income households of $100,000 and up. Our customers are generally higher income earners as our projects range from $15,000 up to $125,000 for a bathroom and kitchen. Our customers are located mostly in Nassau County, but we will work in other counties of New York as well.

What 3 things do you want your company name to communicate to your customers?

High quality, professional, exclusive.

What character, tenor, or spirit do you wish to convey?

Chic, luxury, professional. Business-like but also creative.

Are there specific words or phrases you do not like?

Home improvement, builder. Nassau or Suffolk.

Are there specific words or phrases you like?

Build, Design, Long Island, Improvement

Do you have other info you want to share?

A lot of home improvement companies all sound the same. Their name seems generic and unoriginal. Let's be different. Let's stand out from the clutter. Creative names are ok.

Brief updates

By abovetheframe on 24-Jun-14 2:17 p.m. GMT
We decided we don't want to use the word "construction" or "contractors" in the name, as it tends to conjure a negative image in the eyes of older women.

The submissions are very good so far. Many are slightly too generic, such as ones that reference only "design" as opposed to something more specific to construction like the word "renovate" or "build". Another possible avenue I would consider are unique single word names that are easy to spell, pronounce and remember. This will aid in future marketing campaigns.

Hey guys, thanks for all the submissions. There were so many choices to go through, I'm going to need another couple of days to make the final choices, but I think I've narrowed it down. Thank you all for your patience.
