We are a new nonprofit organization, originally named Foundations for Families, but we do not like our name. Our mission: "Connecting kids, families and communities for hope and healing." Our tag line is: "... because we were not designed to be alone." Our functions will be two-fold. First, we will use our many collective years of professional expertise and credentials to equip faith communities to engage with high need / at risk / multi-stressed families to create stability and community in order to prevent family disruption, abuse, and increase family access to human and tangible resources. We will equip through connecting communities, providing training and mentoring. Second, we will offer direct services such as family coaching and skill building and mental health counseling.
We will definitely need a ".org"
Our customers are faith communities, high stressed families, youth aging out of foster care, child protective services, other child and family serving agencies, our (future) funders - both individuals and foundations.
We connect individuals, families, and community organizations and the faith community - the community is eager to help but needs to be trauma informed to really make a difference. We decrease isolation / increase healthy relationships. We are a strengths-based organization and believe in the power of change and focus ourselves in an optimistic way.

We want a multicultural appeal that is not too middle class, but still holds appeal to the middle class. It should be hip but not too trendy. While we are faith based, we don't want to smother people with faith symbolism or be full of Christian jargon. To break this question down into simple words would be: faith based, multicultural, professional and skilled. We want to convey hope, "a journey to healing" and that we use a trauma informed social work practice approach.
Like: Hope, Together, Community
Hate: anything too kitschy or smoozy or hyper religious and radical. Healthy family - because its too overused in organizations. Nothing cutesy, or too warm and fuzzy.
We want to communicate that children and child safety and healthy families are our main underlying passion. We would prefer a one or two word name, no more than three words.
