Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

Business Name

CrossFit Costa Mesa

What do you do?

We are a gym. A bad ass, ass kicking gym. We lift heavy weight, run hard, compete with each other, and perform some advanced gymnastics. We destroy our bodies and rebuild them.

List the size requirement(s) for your clothing design

I want an all over print targeting the back of the shirt, 2 designs actually, one for guys and one girls.

What is your industry?

Fitness and Sports

Describe the target audience for your clothing design

25-45 year old men and women who are committed to changing their lives. Athletes and competitors.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your clothing design?

A sense of accomplishment for earning the shirt. It will be awarded to people based on effort and results. I want it to express community and a sense of belonging and a feeling of "Yes, that's a badass shirt"

What clothing design styles do you like?

www.forgedclothing.com, but the toned down ones. Not the overly aggressive "afflication" style douchy ones.

How many colors should be used in the design?

What colors do you want to see in your clothing design?

I want a bright yellow shirt base. Black font and black silhouette of an athletic man (and women for their version) and then a slightly darker yellow for the image of the phoenix (fire bird) coming out from behind the person. (See attached behemoth example) I am open to having the design on the front or the back with our gym name on the other side. I'm not super picky, just want to see how they might look.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your clothing design?

I'm open to a variation of the design above but on a dark shirt with a bright yellow font and silhouette. Inverting the colors from the above.

What adjectives should best describe your clothing design?

Special, deserved, badass,

How will you use the clothing design?

One side of the shirt will have our gyms name in our designated font Bank Gothic (attached) I would like the name of the gym to be "CrossFit" on the top line with "Costa Mesa" centered below it. The other will have the silhoutte of the man (or woman) with a giant overarching shadow of a phoenix (mythical fire bird) rising from behind the person.

What must be included in the clothing design?

The above imagery

Brief updates

A few more thoughts on the placement of the images. For the human silhoutte and the phoenix (fire bird) shadow exploding off behind them. I would like the person to be placed where the stomach or low back of the shirt would be and I would like the person to be approximately 6-8 inches. Athletic build for both man and female versions. From there I would like the phoenix to be expanding and rising up and out from the person. Expanding diagonally upward covering more and more of the shirt with flames and wings and such. The head of the Phoenix should land right between the top of the shoulder blades but below the neck line BUT, the wings and flames should and can go up onto the shoulders and even to the top of the arm sleeves. My printer can do "all over graphic print" so don't assume the print won't work on a tshirt.

If you have any questions or if I was unclear, please feel free to email me.

Thank you

I will be adding a SECOND award to this project for the version of the women's shirt. I am looking for a separate design as the tshirt will actually be a tank top and will require more creativity to make the images and logos work. Because of the tank top selected SEE LINK BELOW!

Link here: http://goo.gl/B2h7W (We are going with the BLACK TANK TOP and will be asking you all to flip the shirt for the men from yellow to BLACK. I do apologize for this change.

The back of the tank top is a razor back and images will NOT work well there. You will have to design one with the images on the chest in the front.

Please go ahead and use your existing designs of the phoenix (or a brand new one) and make sure the silhouette is a women of course.

Thank you
