About Your Company
How-To Geek is an online technology magazine and one of the top 500 websites in the US. Our audience is anyone who needs technical advice or straightforward explanations of technical concepts.
We need an eBook cover template for a series of technical ebooks we are planning. They will all have the same basic design, but we need to be able to change the title, author, and primary picture used on the cover. Publication will be as a downloadable PDF and also in Kindle ebook format.
Since this will be used on downloadable PDFs and ebooks, the specific size doesn't matter quite as much as the ability for it to scale well to different sizes. But, we can work with 8.5x11 as a starting point.
Colors to Explore
Title, subtitle, picture representing the subject, and author's name. We also need to include our publishing logo (we're still developing this logo so a placeholder is okay; the mockup we're attaching will show the basic size and color). And we need to include some kind of banner stating that it's "A How-To Geek Guide."
Top 3 Things
Professional, Authoritative, Engaging
We do need something that is reusable. We'll need to be able to create multiple covers of the same design, but substitute different titles, subtitles, main picture element, and author name. For file format, it would be preferable if we had files from something in the Adobe Creative family of products (InDesign, Photoshop, whatever).
