Top 3 Things
authority, creativity, depth, substance
The best designer will be someone who is skilled at working with a text-focused design. Because there is so much text, very much beyond just the text done elegantly, creatively and well will likely make it too cluttered. I'm thinking of the background being white or at least something on the light side. More options with color as far as the text, but a suspect I will want to lean in direction of most of text being dark shades or black. Here is a link to other books I've written (www.hopeandthefuture.com) so you can get a sense for the general felt quality of design of ICD Press books. But this cover will be more text-centric than the others.
