Weekly Glance of Awesomeness #7

Hello to all my friends in crowdSPRING land!
What an exciting week. If you are a frequenter of our site, you’ll see that we launched crowdSPRING Pro earlier this week at the DEMO technology conference. Higher award amounts, more privacy settings, and more functionality that will make everyone smile: coming now!

Glance #1: Web 2.0 Recipe Company Needs Logo
The Award: $150
End Date: September 13th
The Breakdown: Plummelo is an online start up centered around one of my favorite things ever – food! They provide a centralized place for you to bookmark and share your favorite recipes on the internet with other food aficionados. In order to convey this message, they are looking for a juicy, grapefruit-esque logo. There are some pretty good lookin’ submissions so far, so why don’t you take a crack at it?

Glance #2: Design Packaging for Jaho Coffee
The Award: $350
End Date: September 13th
The Breakdown: crowdSPRING wouldn’t be where we are today without the help of Ethiopian coffee blends in our tummies before we start our day. I’m pretty sure we only speak in grunts before we get our coffee fixes in the morning. So, we found it exciting when Jaho Coffee, a small artisan coffee roaster, posted a project on our site. They are looking for unique labels for their new Ethopian blend coffee line that may pay homage to the African country where this coffee originates.

Glance #3: Rock Legends the Game Needs A Logo
The Award: $300
End Date: September 15th
The Breakdown: Forget the sex and drugs, just get down to the rock ‘n roll…and logo designing! Serious Business, the company that brought people one of Facebook’s most popular applications, Friends for Sale, is looking for a logo for a new browser-based game called Rock Legends. If you read their creative brief, it literally says they are looking for “awesome.” Our creatives know how to party AND how to create awesomeness. You showed us how metal you all were in the Judas Priest poster project. It’s time to bring back the rock!

Glance #4: Crayon Paper Magical Color Transfers Logo
The Award: $400
End Date: September 18th
The Breakdown: Who didn’t enjoy coloring with crayons during Arts and Crafts time in school? Crayon Paper has taken fun time to the next level with their Magical Color Transfers, where you take a sheet of paper and rub the color onto another sheet. No more worries about the crayons breaking, and hopefully they’ll be harder for overzealous kids to eat (I’m so not kidding). The company is looking for a youthful, contemporary logo to feature on the packaging of the product that will appeal to children and their caretakers, so take your mind back to the grade school days!

There you have it for this week, folks. Tune in next week for more Glances of Awesomeness, and feel free to send me any leads!
