Constantly on the lookout for ways to utilize his creativity and imagination, Christopher McGauran is a creative soul whose talents range from photography all the way to creativeadvertising and the modern media world. For the past fifteen years, Christopher has passionately applied his talent, through both print and digital media projects including
short films. His works have supported the efforts of a host of
clients that include Shedd Aquarium, Leo Burnett, BBDO,
Frankel, Chicago Home & Garden, Arnold Worldwide,
Ambrosi / Black Dot Group, Dome Communications,
J. Walter Thompson, and Donahoe Purohit Miller.
With a special ability for developing out of the ordinary design
concepts, Christopher communicates artistic vision along with
innovative creativity and extraordinary ad copywriting expertise.
Other ongoing projects include marketing and public relations
for several well known Chicago restaurants including
John Barleycorn, and quickly growing French bistro Socca
in the Lakeview neighborhood. Back when he first took on the
task of rebranding the Lincoln Park landmark John Barleycorn
in 2003, there was only one location. Today John Barleycorn
currently has 4 locations and it’s well on it’s way to becoming
a state-wide franchise. Other noted achievements include the
design of the 2006 Shedd Aquarium 40 foot outdoor banners,
indoor signage, and outdoor street banners for the unveiling
of The “Discover” campaign and the “Crabs” exhibit.
Early in his career Christopher worked as an Art Director
for Lou Beres and Associates, designing print ads, direct mail,
brand logos, packaging, catalogs and photo shoots for clients
that include Wrigley, Ohio Art, DFG Foods, Vtech, Turtle Wax,
and Bill Knapp’s Restaurant. He has also served as Art Director
for Aware/Columbia Records creating CD covers and layouts,
print ads, concert posters, clothing design, newsletters, band iogos,
catalogs and billboard signage. He has implemented marketing
and promotional ideas for musical groups such as Train,
Jackopierce, John Mayer, Five for Fighting, Blues Traveler,
Ben Folds Five, Levi’s, EMI Records, A&M Records & Bill Graham.
Christopher is a graduate of Drake University
with a degree in Speech Communication and Advertising.
