see more; I've been a graphic artist since the neolithic era when we used sticks and rocks to do paste-up, and got paid in seashells. Sometimes I feel like I still get paid in seashells! Seriously I've had a great career. I live at the beach in a very small town and yet maintained a nationwide client base—Zip Drives, PDFs and FTP were such great innovations! Sold my agency in 2005, went on wild adventures for a while, including working on a boat in Bering Sea, but, alas, my wife and kids didn't see the glory my galavanting ways, so I've been freelancing again since 2007—this time from home. At 50 I don't have the conquering drive I did when I was younger, and there's something to be said for working in your jammies, and not making a lease payment.
