Primarily I'm looking for a business card design, but additional designs for use on stationary/invoices/envelopes would be great too.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your stationery?

- Mix of the classical with contemporary, acoustic with electronic/digital.
- Serious music
- Story telling – my music is generally composed to support a visual narrative.

I've attached the following files:
1) orchestra_complete.jpg - a complete image of a John Singer Sargent painting I've licensed from the Boston MFA for this purpose, as well as for images on my web site.
2) brass2.jpg - a detail from the painting I'd like to use for the business card/logo; you can play with the exact elements of the detail if you like from the original painting - what I like about this is it's amorphous quality.
3) BusinessCardTreatment_10052011 - a formatted version of this information
And two examples of layouts . . .
4) businesscardsv1 – using a sample of the background of the painting to provide a textured background to the card, but have it blend more smoothly into the detail, hopefully without altering the detail itself much. I’d probably use the background on the back of the card as well.
5) businescardsv5 – using the background color from my website – http://robjaret.com. (The color in this example is not right.)

I currently use various details from the painting on my website - http://robjaret.com too. This particular detail is used on the links page.

You're welcome to come up with your own ideas of how to make the detail work as well. I don’t think my examples incorporates any of the contemporary ideas I mention in the ‘three things you would like to communicate’ question above regarding the electronic/digital – acoustic paradox. If you have an idea that incorporated some other element into the card that had this, that could be really cool.

I have a hi-res copy of the image, but its 60MB so I didn't think I should upload it here. Hopefully the .jpg is good enough for the design, and if we go forward I can get you the hi-res for the final version.
