Modern website for video discussion solution

About us:

TimZon (timzon.com) is a startup providing private video discussion and collaboration solution for the Enterprise.
The name can be pronounced as Team Zone, Time Zone or anyway you want.
It is aimed at facilitating asynchronous communication between geographically dispersed teams or individuals.

Here is what we need:

We need an updated look for our website's main and about pages.
We have a site in production, but we are sure that you can do better than we have designed.
Most of the website content is dynamic and the layout is adjusted automatically based on the screen resolution.
We only need design for the front page and the about page, but a template for future pages would be useful too.

We will give you and your creative mind free space to innovative but here is some wishes:

This is primarily a business focused tool.
We usually write the site name as TimZon, but if you think that the case should be different, please feel free to change it.
Feel free to touch our logo (attached) color, size, orientation or shading etc. in order to tune it up or make it completely different if you feel like it.

Welcome page:
---------------------
We would like to maintain a clean and simple theme for the site, using white or light background.
The site should be gender neutral and aimed at businesses while not excluding consumer users.
The size and position of the top header (where sign in is, for example), video discussions/contact list (the vertical panel on the left) are not moveable, but are placed on the page dynamically depending of the user windows size.
The main page should include elements inviting the user to sign-in to the site (See our "check it out" on the current site) and explain simple steps and benefits in an exciting way: (eg.: The crowdspring main page explain clearly what the site does).
- Sign In: Use color and contrast to make the Sign In button stand out (people need to find it easily).
- Simple steps to get started (needs to be highly visible and contain something close to the following):
1. Create a discussion for your project.
2. Choose who gets invited.
3. Record videos instead of sending email.
4. Collaborate like never before. ( Bold?)

Make the Simple steps snippet on the landing page as clear and concise as possible. (We don't want the user to have any confusion about what the website is doing.)
The current site has the logo bleeding down into the discussion area. We're interested in keeping this element.
The privacy and terms of service links can move to where the copyright is on the current page. They don't have to stay in the upper right.

About page:
---------------
This page is used by our users to :
+Learn more about us:
  - Address
  - Phone
  - EMail
  - Twitter
  - Blog
+ Submit request for support, enhancement or share ideas.
This page is completely customizable (we're open to your creativity) but the header section should be similar to the main page.
As with the welcome page, we like the overlap of the logo and the content.

Here is some more information:

Audience:
Gender neutral.
Ages: 18 and up (it's generally for businesses)
Entry level technical proficiency (casual web user).

Brand image:
Color: Clear/White/Light (something light) for the background.
Feel: Simple / Minimalist
Emotions: Professional / Fast

What we need:
For the final delivery we need Photoshop files with layers suitable for use in constructing a full working website. We will also need JPG and PNG of the various elements.

We will give feedback immediately to every participant and feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Redesign of Grouptree.com

We need www.grouptree.com to be redesigned to bring it up to date and reflect the growth we have experienced over the past few years. We would like to utilise a full 1024px width rather than the 800px it is currently designed to. The site will be managed in our own CMS system and will be translated into at least 2 different languages.
The site will be visited by design and implementation agencies as well as corporates and small companies.
We would like to convey a professional image with a bit of flair. The site will be information rich and the designs will need to be easily applied to forums, blogs, extranets and white paper type data.

Web and application design for a new startup company

We are building and launching a new software startup company that creates project management software for normal humans. We have much of the functionality in place, and have developed wireframes for each page, but need a great UI designer who can put a beautiful and easy to use face on our software. We want something that is clean and somewhat minimalist, but that is distinctive as well.

ChillBaby: design of new site to help recent parents

We are building a new web application to help new parents discover the patterns that work best for their baby. We have done a lot of research into this problem, and have a complete set of (suggested) wireframes ready.

This project entails establishing a color scheme and creating a few key templates and pages for the site. We don't have a logo or color scheme yet, so this is somewhat a blank slate.

We are looking for a creative that can balance both aesthetics as well as usability. We need a design that is clean, fun, but above all easy to use.

We have a lot of experience building some high-profile web applications, so we'll be able to provide you with helpful (and timely) feedback. We value your input, and look forward to seeing your ideas and hearing your thoughts on how we can tackle some of the design challenges.

We hope to establish an ongoing relationship, as there is an opportunity for additional work after this project is completed.

Semantics and Text-mining company web-ste: feel free to take the risk and be creative

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Lynx Computers is a Text-Mining and Semantic Technology company. We have developed state of the art technology indented for integration into products. With our technology computers can "understand" free text information and contexts.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a simple corporate web site with a clean and "heavy" look and feel. We aim to radiate a strong, founded company (similar to a bank) but with a combination of the software hi-tech feeling and sense of innovation and state of the art technology.

We need two pages:
1. Homepage - with a large flash with changing pictures.
2. Content page - with a menu on the left.

In the attached UI design instead of flash as listed we would like a couple of options for images later they will be replaced by flash:
1. big picture for the homepage (see UI) on the pictures the following slogan can be included.
     "Knowledge Mining"
Please include several picture options as this will have a major affect on our decision.

2. Logo's of prominent clients (logos included in file below)

Attached is a simple UI design I created. The reason we posted this project here is for you to take risks so feel free to break the UI design and suggest your own design. Keep in find that we want a representative site, and we don't need to show too much content on the front page. We like the wire frame we present but are very open to suggestions.

The design should be for 1024 pixel size.

Please look carefully at the UI file and read the content in the boxes, it explains what we seek.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Most of our business is B2B our target audiences are other business and potential employees.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Some links to site we like.
http://www.hadas-arazim.co.il/e/
http://www.attivio.com/

we want a clean site with lot of white space (can be blue space from the logo or other color, but empty space). The site should be based on the logo's colors along with "transparency" element.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Nothing is a must, be creative. The flash objects are supposed to be very simple, with clean pictures radiating a feeling of a innovative but solid hi tech company. It would be good if they are related to text mining and semantics and it is important for them not to be too crowded.

Of course the design must use the included logo and colors (forgot to say it before :)

STINGR Website Template

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

STINGR Solutions LLC provides high-impact engineering and management consulting services to high-tech growth companies, and we also conceptualize and develop our own innovative products. Our first product, a patent-pending golf umbrella, will be launched at the 2009 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a website template based on the draft design b eing provided.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Based on the nature of the business, we have diverse audiences. The consulting side of the business largely targets small to medium size high tech companies that need help with growth through technology and product innovation. The target audience for the product side of the business includes distributors of golf-related merchandise and marketing managers of promotional products. The website is also a means to educate consumers about the new golf umbrella. As new products are introduced that cover other market areas, the target audience will expand.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

I've provided a draft website in the project material, and I've also included two examples of website designs that have clean, professional looks (separate PPT file).

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Design should generally follow the draft design provided. The company logo must be used without change. Other prescriptive guidelines are included on the first page of the draft website PowerPoint file.

Teddy Bear Holiday Drupal Site

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We're working on a website that offers teddy bear services - holidays, accessories and academic literature.
The idea is that you buy your child a membership to the site, and then from there they can book holidays for their bear.
When the time comes for the teddy bear, the child receives an actual courier delivered box that they place their bear in and send back to us.
In a week or two the bear returns with a box full of goodies, and they can also see online their teddy bear having fun.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

I require a website prototype, with graphical design and ideally a wireframe model explaining what divs go where.
There'll be a forum and shopping page so please "bear" (zing!) this in mind with the layout.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Must make children go onto the site and think "I want this" and adults think "this looks fun and reputable enough I trust them with my money"

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

any websites with bright funky colors and not trying to be serious.
We're looking for colors that go with our primary logo colour #FDC30A.
We'd also love a funky footer, we were thinking either grass with flowers in it or cartoon teeth (friendly teeth!)
An outdoor feel with grass, crystal blue skies and the logo instead of the sun would be cool.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

our logo, simple placeholders for text explaining what the site is.
No comic sans.

We need a main page design and a secondary page design

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target audience is health conscious consumers who are concern with their environment and who want to live bug free in their home or business. Consumers that are concerned about unnecessary exposure to chemicals, and are sensitive to what is being put in and around your environment. Pest control that is safe for kids and pets.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Lexis Nexis Online Media Centre

Background
There are currently 7 media packs for the Lexis Nexis (LN) group, all of which will be available in print, in small numbers, but increasingly the market demands online accessibility. Currently this is provided only via PDFs sent via email, but a more professional approach is needed. We can get there with an Online Media Centre.
In order to maintain brand consistency, the Media Centre will be the same across all titles, but each title will be able to choose whether to promote the overall home as a starting point, or direct customers to specific title sections. This should be considered in the design.

Contents
The media centre will consist of a series of web pages, with navigation down the left hand side of the page. The relevant pages of the traditional media packs will be attached for download from the appropriate pages.
The pages will be designed in Joomla, so that they can be regularly updated, by the ad sales teams as required. We would need to have both the HTML and PDF pages updateable.

General
The overall design should follow the designs of the existing packs, and at the same time be neutral enough that it can suit all individual brands. As the print media packs have all been designed with the same layout (just with different colours) I suggest that the design/images from this should be used, perhaps in a neutral colour (eg Grey/Beige) with the LN red through as an accent to brighten things up. It will act as a great canvas to showcase any particular highlights on the home page.

Navigation
In addition to the LH navigation through the packs per title, we should have a top nav bar linking directly to the individual title pages. There should also be a navigation pane somewhere on the page, linking to all editorial sites – so users can look at ‘real life’ examples.

Native American Wellness Coach & Fitness Consultant needs engaging new home page

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Hi! I'm a Native American health, wellness, and fitness coach. I love working with other Native People, improving their health and life status. The Native American population has some very real and large challenges as it relates to diet and exercise, and I am trying to help by offering classes, coaching, and other services.

My current web site is at http://www.crlhealth.com

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a very straightforward but engaging new web design that reflects what we offer (health & wellness coaching, fitness classes, and program development services).

We are looking for a) a front page design, and b) a toolbar and/or design that can be used for all of the subpages.

A rough outline of the content for our new web site is at http://www.thehealthypantry.com/images/CRLwebsite.pdf (this is also uploaded as a project file).

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Native Americans and those supporting their health and wellness programs.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Native American artwork and themes. A local artist whose artwork I love is http://www.kevinredstar.com

Kevin's colors are beautiful.

Website for Virtual Assistant company

We are a virtual assistant company that specializes in providing extraordinary customer support for web based businesses.

All of our employees are US based and very tech savvy which makes us ideally suited for the type of businesses we support.

We provide immense value in that we charge lots less than the average VA company while providing higher quality service than the majority of virtual assistant services.

We need a site that identifies us as a tech forward, US based VA business.

the site will mainly be for informational/marketing purposes. we won't really sell anything thru the site as all sales are done after a phone consultation with the client.

we will be giving away a business model map to those who opt-in to our database, so we will need an optin box. This needs to be placed in the upper right of the design, above the fold.

i would like the navigation links to run just below the header graphic, or be integrated into the header graphic, just below the company logo. We will need nav links for home, what we do, who we are, blog, contact us

i would like a picture of an attractive female VA in the header ... maybe someone with a headset on who looks like they are supporting a customer on the phone or online.

you can see the existing template at www.easyvirtualassistant.com, though we want to move away from that template in a big way.

if you need direction on any part of this please contact me

Our ideal customers are information marketers - those who sell information (physical products, software, ebooks, access to membership sites, etc).

Our clients are typically small operations (1-5ppl) whose customers are buying business opportunity information. We deal with more of an entrepreneurial client as compared to a traditional "corporate" client.

Website for a mobile commerce company

Our company, Unbound Commerce, provides software to retailers who want to extend their existing website so as to provide a great experience to mobile consumers who are using the browser on their mobile phones. Despite iPhones & G1s, 99% of websites provide a lousy experience for mobile browsers because they are optimized for full-size screens and technologies like Flash. Our company was founded to let retailers serve this rapidly-growing market. We make it easy for companies to use their existing web assets to provide mobile-focused web presence. We are US-based, and will primarily serve US-based companies for the next year, broadening reach after that.

Design for our home page and template(s) for secondary pages. A detailed requirements document has been uploaded.

Senior & middle management at Retailers of all stripes -- large chain stores, pure-play internet retailers and those who are multi-channel. The audience is tech-savvy, but not tech expert; not nerd-ish. Need to convey new & innovative without being too edgy.

Public Website for Insight Medical

Hello there.

We need a complete public website for Insight Medical. Insight Medical is a leading provider of Point of Care Testing (POCT) rapid drug screening products managed by an Internet based Web Application (SaaS) that allows hospitals, clinics, employers, and school systems to perform and manage patient testing.

This is a fairly straightforward design project composed of seven static pages: 1) Homepage, 2) Products, 3) Services, 4) About Us, 5) Contact Us, 6) Help /FAQ, 7) Resources

We have existing branding (logos, business cards, letterhead, envelopes) and a corporate identity package that must be used. No exceptions. Stock photography may be used by including a reference to the images you would be using that we would need to acquire -- we prefer iStockPhoto for any stock imagery.

The deliverable should be in PSD (Photoshop) format. No HTML/CSS markup is required.

Author website

The author is a NYT reviewed and award winning author and psychologist who is looking for a new website to act as an umbrella for all his activities including promoting his new book out now on Bill Clinton.

We would like a site that is professional, clean, easy to add new material to (extra space for menus), and presents the author in a serious, but approachable manner.

The author's name is John Gartner and the new book is called: In Search of Bill Clinton: A Psychological Biography.

http://www.amazon.com/Search-Bill-Clinton-Psychological-Biography/dp/031236976X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1224438220&sr=1-1

We would prefer for the site to showcase the new book especially and expect it to be front and center.

The author has another book which you can find at: http://hypomanicedge.com/ You can use images of his other book there if you wish.

We thought of this site with a dark grey or black background with clean lines and "serious" look to go with the new book. White could also work well. But you're the designers... surprise us.

There is not a lot of current content, so designers can use filler text (Lorem Ipsum) or any content in the files or on his old site: http://hypomanicedge.com/ What matters to us is the design.

For the final delivery we need Photoshop files with layers suitable for use in constructing a full working website.

We hope that this is a fun and high-profile site for a new (or old) designer/bibliophile and we eagerly look forward to seeing your creativity.

We were very impressed by the Crowdspring community and we had to try it out... Of course we will award the money as indicated, but there are other firms working on the project so even if we pay you for your design it may or may not be used on the final site.

Best of luck to all of you and we appreciate your efforts on this project... Contact us for any other information you need.

Redesign of a single Flight Tracking web page/user interface

fboweb.com is an innovative website that provides aircraft flight tracking and other aviation related information. The site provides, among other services, the ability to track an aircraft by displaying the flight's position on a map, as well as other information, such as altitude, speed, origin and destination, and other flight information. Perhaps most interesting is our ability to integrate our flight tracking data with Google Earth, which allows user to view the flight's progress in a 3D, pan-and-zoom environment. This feature has been showcased on CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC, as well as other media.

We have one web page in particular on our site that is most frequently visited. Its current purpose is to provide a quick-and-dirty way to track individual flights; and to showcase the 3D integration by providing a special feature which displays the inbound and outbound traffic for 7 major airports in the United States through Google Earth; and to provide links to other products and services offered by the website. It also has a feature that displays the flight track data for recent aircraft accidents and incidents, providing an excellent "go-to" source for seeing the raw flight path for aircraft involved in aviation accidents.

A bare-bones version of this page, with all position formatting removed, can be found at http://fboweb.com/flighttracking/default2.aspx

What we need is a complete redesign of this page, FROM THE BANNER DOWN. The main heading banner (from the very top on down to the bottom blue-line border) must remain in tact, but everything below that is completely up for redesign... colors, fonts, icons, placement - everything.

1) Note the Digg icon, it needs to be on the page somewhere prominently located.

2) Note the headlines underneath the first ad banner; they should be somewhere "headliney"

3) Recognize that there is a feature, currently obscurely marked on the sample page, that displays an hourly snapshot of all active flights. This should be on the page somewhere.

4) The main purpose of this page is to track a flight, so recognize the importance of the "Track a specific flight" section and design accordingly

5) The secondary purpose of this page is to showcase the features of the 3d Google Earth integration, so recognize that in your placement of the "View inbound traffic" section.

6) Another secondary purpose of this page is to provide an go-to place for "recent incident activity".

Anyone from techie aviation geeks to the grandmother wanting to watch her son's flight from accross the country.

Feel free to take a look at the rest of the website at http://fboweb.com for some inspiration/understanding - however, we are not keen to any particular design, and we are also interested in improving the rest of the website at some point (so don't feel like you need to copy any existing design concepts on the site)... but for now, the scope of this project remains that single page as described above.

1) The page generates revenue through the sale of advertising, so ad space must be prominently featured on the page, without completely interfering with the functionality of the page (isn't that the magic formula for everything? :) In the sample page currently provided, there are two sample ads - these formats must be featured on the site (size and dimensions) and positioned such that they will have maximum impact. WE WOULD ALSO LIKE A THIRD BANNER added, and we'll leave that up to the designer to suggest where to best place this banner.

2) This page must have MINIMAL graphics in order to load quickly; users want to be able to quickly head to this page and track a flight, and use this as a utility. As such, long load times would be a detriment to this functionality. The winning design will find the best balance between visual appearance and load times.

3) The page is also a leader into other products and services offered by the website, so bear that in mind in the design.

4) All functionality of the existing page must be kept - so note the various options, links, and features of the site. Feel free to play around with and use this page (you can also try http://fboweb.com/flighttracking for the current live, production version of this page).

MMA school website

Our MMA school in San francisco needs a web design to go with our new logo. We're an elite school with a tough reputation, and we need a site that is classy, yet bold. Our teacher is from mainland China, so there's an obvious Asian connection. We also started off as a kung fu school. Now the school, more than 12 years later, is a large MMA school with state-of-the-art facilities and professional fighters teaching classes.

We need a site design that is bold, clean, and classy. We have a logo (attached.) The letterforms are custom - we don't have a complete font. We need a site built to match this logo, in the same red, black, and white (and maybe yellow, if needed.)

The page should be red and black on a white bgrd. There should be:
1. a footer with copyright notice
2. a header with logo and menu
3. a sidebar with "recent news" and a calendar widget.

There need to be a few different pages:

SIFU LUO - NEWS - MEDIA - CLASSES - SCHOOL

breakdown by page :

1. SIFU LUO - an about page about our teacher, with a large picture and some text.
2. NEWS - this will be driven by a blog, so each post should have a title, date, author, and a "read more" link when the text is too long for the news page.
3. MEDIA - this section can have the same layout as the news section but the posts will be video and photos.
4. CLASSES - will be one large graphic of the weekly class schedule, and text beneath that describing the classes.
5. SCHOOL - several pictures interlaced with text about the school.

Don't be afraid to take some chances - be bold.

current and prospective kung fu / mma students and press.

there are no good kung fu school websites, but i like these layouts
http://subtraction.com/
http://www.37signals.com/svn/
http://kottke.org/
http://daringfireball.net/

i'm not sure those will help, but they all have clean layouts. Our site can have a bit more, visually.

The design must fit with the logo - the section headers and menu SHOULD evoke the font in the logo, and not too many fonts should be used on the page. use negative space well. The page should also be balanced. The content section should be fixed, centered in the middle of the page, but the background of the header and footer, if there is one, should stretch out to infinity. (like this site http://kottke.org/ )

Website Deisgn for UsedScubaDiving.com

We're a new startup and would like a very clean, easy to use design for our new website, www.usedscubadiving.com which will be a classifieds website for used scubadiving equipment. It will be a very innovative website, that will focus directly on used scuba diving equipment, and nothing else. We will be implementing a live search on the website, to make it a leading website in its class.

We need a very clean, usable design for a homepage, classified ad details, as well as adding a classified ad. The homepage will show a company logo, a live search bar, a prominent button, or link to "post an ad" and a listing of the most recently posted used scuba diving equipment/gear ads. We will also require 3 filters under the live search bar. The filters are (For Sale, Want to Buy, Want to Trade)

At the time we do not have a logo, so please just write out the name UsedScubaDiving.com in arial, or helvetica, or a font of your choice.

Scuba Divers looking to buy or sell used scuba diving equipment/gear.

http://www.krop.com/ - for the live search, as well as the clean search results and clean easy to read details of each posting.

We will attach additional files showing the types of backgrounds we like as well as some further examples of search results. (only pay attention to the clean display of search results, NOT the design of the websites)

We really want a CLEAN and USABLE design. We would like the website to give off a scuba diving theme as well (we think this could be achieved through the use of colours and background)

Sweetcron Theme

This is a redesign for my personal Sweetcron blog site. Sweetcron is a self-hosted, free content management system. Sweetcron aggregates all your activity across the social web (twitter, facebook, rss feeds, yelp, pandora, last.fm, etc.) and puts it together in one place. Sweetcron is categorized as Lifestream software.

I would like a redesign of www.shimone.info. Please click on the various social networks to see the type of data provided. Click on a post title or graphic to see the full page result. Assume that additional social networks will be added in time so extra blank social network styles would be appreciated. I am looking for some out-of-the-box ideas. This is a personal website with no monetary value so feel free to go wild and get creative with layout, color and effects.

Creative thinkers

Your design must keep the semantic web and best practices in mind. I will build the site to valid and strict HTML/CSS standards.

Travelbugz.com Website Design

My client is starting travelbugz.com from scratch. A site exists at that domain now but nothing from that site should be carried over. Travelbugz will be focused on providing information to parents who are traveling with their kids. The idea is that Sharon will post information about recommended things to do with your kids when you travel to a specific destination. The site will contain pages about each destination and the places in that destination where she discusses the specifics. There will also be pages for recommended products, services and links to other website articles with good info on this topic.

We'd like to get a fun, friendly design in Photoshop or Fireworks layered format that we can code up for the client. Ideally, a homepage, a listing page of destinations, and a detail page for a destination. But for $400 we know you may not go that far...

The attached logo was designed in a previous Crowdspring contest by

Families, middle to upper middle income who travel with kids and travel regularly. These families may have one or two parents, and typically travel to new destinations regularly.

http://www.cucuyodesigns.com/index.php
Client likes the HOMEPAGE ONLY - not anywhere else on the site. She likes the nice large lifestyle image, the clean look.

See the attached wireframe for the basic layout. Width of the content area should be 950px. Background can of course expand beyond that.

Client would rather not have a white background on the content area, she'd rather have a nice light color with dark text that is very readable and meshes well with the rest of the color and design of the site.

Please use istockphoto.com to find any stock photos you may use, that is where we buy our imagery.

Main menu items across the top: Home | Destinations | Things We Love | Photos | About Us | Contact Us

Feel free to detach the logo from the word Travelbugz to work with size and positioning.

Website Home Page

This website is being built for Carol Alt and here is her story:

“You might know me as a supermodel and actress, but you probably don't know that over the last decade I dedicated myself to eating raw food and have educated hundreds of thousands of people worldwide about the benefits of a raw lifestyle through my two best-selling books on raw nutrition.

My quest for raw ingredients turned me into a label sleuth and I discovered that beauty products identified as "natural" or "organic" didn't always live up to their names. I found out that there’s no government regulation in the beauty industry, so even products labeled as natural or organic can contain synthetic impurities such as petrochemicals, detergents, fragrances or preservatives. Yuck!

I decided to take action by creating my own skin care products out of the same raw ingredients I eat. I gave these products as gifts to friends who, like me, yearned for products that are free of nasty chemicals and ingredients, and to my delight, the products were well-received and well-loved. Thanks to this encouragement and a lot of scientific research, I'm now able to offer you the only skincare line that is Certified Raw™.”

I am looking for a website that can be incorporated with Magento.

- e-commerce
- blog
- use raw essentials logo
- use Certified Raw logo
- use picture of Carol

woman, 30-50, high income

- use any pictures or content from www.carolalt.com

Website for Amsterdam3000 rally

Gimaft BV is a Dutch company of four people that recently started to organize adventure rallies for groups of 50-100 people, with a duration of 5-6 days, during summer, under the brand name Am*dam3000. (The * is a star, which is 'ster' in Dutch and thus am-ster-dam ;-). The star you could think of a Hollywood star for example, as our sub-theme is most like going to be movie related: Am*dam3000 - 'moviestars: beauties, bandits and borats'. The destinations during the rally are Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Luxemburg and Belgium.

Whereas comparable rallies position themselves as being for the filthy rich that want to party (Gumball3000 or Quote Challenge) or for the sheer adventurist with a tiny budget (The Adventurists London to Mongol rallye), we have a different approach.

What we see as an end-product is a website design (both for homepage and a template for the 4 pages behind- N.B. these may be the same) of Am*dam3000. As you will probably notice in the text below and from our logo, the website should radiate:
•	Fun in the good old student days
•	Adventure, yet also a bit relaxing
•	Affordability, yet well organized

o	Young professionals (i.e. 20-35 year olds), former students, who long to go 'back to the old days' of uncomplicated fun, drinking etc.
o	Normal budget (Trip should cost less than 1200 euros, excluding fuel)
•	Credo:
o	If you think it is a stupid plan, you should probably execute it!
o	A good story is not necessarily true
o	A good joke can cost you friends

our logo and
•	TheAdventurists.com
http://www.icebreak.com.au
http://www.oakleydesignbrief.com/

Our website should CERTAINLY contain:
•	Fun /humor
•	Creativity
•	Our logo (see above and attached on site) -> any variations with logo (e.g., in buttons) are very welcome
•	Large title ‘Amsterdam3000’
•	Subtitle ‘Beauties, bandits and Borats’
•	Reference to the countries were visiting (e.g., map with the countries highlighted) OR
•	Reference to the cities we’re visiting (e.g., map á la Indiana Jones with Amsterdam, Hannover, Berlin, Krakow, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Prague, Munich, Nürburgring, Amsterdam)
•	4 Buttons / links to the (only) 4 pages we have:
o	The Trip
o	The Beauties
o	Sign up
o	Contact us

Our website should not contain
•	Dullness
•	Too much emphasis on speed / rally, as it is more about fun / friends / exciting experiences /

Internet TV channel guid UI for a new Internet TV service/player

Mediafly and CytecSys have partnered to create an innovative new Internet TV device. We are looking for an innovative Channel Guide design as the Home screen on the device.

Restrictions (for Standard Definition minimum TV display):

•	It must look great at 640x480. I have included a 640x480 picture. Please use this as the background.
•	Limited use of rounded corners
•	Limited use of complex images. The less images needed to load into memory the better. But, if you use the same image(s) repetitively, that is great.
•	Make sure that font sizes are not too small. Remember it will be watched from a couch on a TV.
•	Sparing use of gradients (if any)
•	Sparing use of shadows (if any)

Attached is a VERY ROUGH mock up of what the guide should include and roughly how it might flow. But if you can achieve the requirements below, feel free to be innovative and creative about the rest. And don’t hesitate to email me with any thoughts or questions.

Design requirements

•	The interface must be easy, intuitive, innovative, interesting, and discoverable (i.e. obvious how to use it).

•	Organize the UI into a guide showing channels and the first couple episodes for each. (see attached mock ups)

•	Show at least 3 channels and at least 2 episodes for each channel (if you are showing more than 3 channels and 3 episodes, make sure you are designing for 640x480.

•	Indicate which Channel AND episode is currently playing

•	Indicate which episode the user is currently selecting with the remote (note: this can be different than the one that is playing)

•	Ideally the guide should cover about ½ screen so that video in the background is still partially visible while looking at the guide

•	Show an optional details/info window which would be displayed if the user presses “info”. This window should display all the details about an episode, including: episode title, show title, episode description, image, length, format (audio/video). (This should not cover up any of the guide)

•	A method to access other types of media besides the channels, such as Movies and Photos. (This might be a good use of the colored variable buttons described in the “remote control” section below).

•	Channel type breaks/groups, such as “my favorites” and “most popular channels” (one idea is in the mock up).

•	Show the channel number for the channel of the highlighted/selected episode.

•	Subtly indicate each episode status, which can include: not-downloaded, downloading, and downloaded. I have shown this with the little circle. It is necessary, but secondary, information but not the most important so it has to be available and visible but not distracting.

•	“Now playing”: Include a way to see what is currently playing including:

-	Episode title
-	Where in the episode the player is
-	The length (e.g. how much is left)

•	Look at the attached images. There are some additional details.

•	Indicate which remote control buttons are usable and for what. Also, there are four colored buttons which can be assigned to any function as described below.

Remote Control:

•	When you design this interface, remember that it will be navigated by a REMOTE CONTROL with limited buttons. In particular, there are some special buttons to keep in mind. I have attached an image called “guide remote” with some more information.

•	There are buttons on the remote specifically “info”, “setup”, “del(ete)”, “sub(scribe”, “guide” as well as the ones you would expect (i.e. play, forward, back, record, numbers, etc.).

•	There are also four colored VARIABLE BUTTONS (red, green, yellow, and blue). These don’t have any specific function so they can be assigned to actions on a particular screen. As such, we need to include indications on the UI as to what those buttons do.

Winning Selection:

We will be selecting a design which meets all of the requirements and adheres the most to the restrictions. Think Apple design + Cable TV Guide and then be creative to do it within the restrictions.

We look forward to your designs. Good Luck!

Fit2Go Trainers Website Redesign

About Us
Our core values: Freedom, Fun, Profit, and Growth … we have been successful business owners in the fitness industry for over 15 years. Our new project, Fit2Go Trainers is a concept that makes personal training more convenient to the public. We deliver fitness to workplaces, homes, recreation centers, the park, or where ever you like. And we do even more than that – we match the right personal trainer with each fitness client. When personal trainers join the Fit2Go Trainers Alliance they are harnessing the powerful economies of scale that we have created, so that they can effortlessly fill their schedules while they focus on what they love to do – train fitness clients.

About the Project
We have redesigned our logo (attached) … thank you to the crowdSpring community for this … and we want a redesigned website to transmit the same kind of “punch” and “energy” as this new logo.

We have refocused our content (attached) … to primarily target new fitness clients for Fit2Go Trainers.

Home Page
Purpose – it will be like a magazine cover, designed to attract new fitness clients with a simple, clear, compelling message.

We would like to create an emotional connection with the right graphics and stock photography.

Template for other pages on the website
We also want the other pages of the site to create energy and emotion that is compelling to both personal trainers and new fitness clients. The right graphics and stock photography will achieve this objective.

What we like:
1. We like our new logo.
2. We like the idea of larger print fonts (than what you will see on our current site), as many of our potential clients prefer a more legible and easier to read font.
3. We like graphics and stock images that appeal to middle and upper income people from 25 – 55 years of age, baby boomers with more financial means likely being a larger part of our target market.

What we don’t want:
1. Busyness and clutter.
2. Inappropriate sexual images.
3. Images of unhealthy people.
4. Images of people in a fitness club (remember that we deliver the fitness).
5. Images of people appearing to be “strained” while exercising … we want to create the feeling of “energy” and “freedom” – an intense image would detract from this.
6. Clipart.

We have attached the following:
1. Our logo.
2. A copy of the revised outline and content for our new site.

HELP US!

We are a financial services company focusing on the needs of the retired.

The site will provide clients with content information, financial tools, etc.

The design should be a template (homepage). We need a PROFESSIONAL corporate design that will compliment our logo. The site should be very user friendly since the age of our average client is 55-60. Site should also have a warm friendly feel.

Would like to have 4 - 5 buttons for page navigation and a graphic at the top of the page (in case we would like to replace with a flash header later).

There should be a balance of images / graphics to text.

Thank you in advance for your time and considering this project. I am always amazed when it is time to review the submissions here on crowdspring.

The current site (it is too hip and flashy for our market) is www.firstfidelityatl.com

Estate Liquidation Site Update

We are wanting to improve our current look and feel for http://www.EstateSales.net

Our site is where people come to view upcoming liquidation sales like estate sales, tag sales, or auctions (the original kind...not online). We like the overall simplicity of our site and really want to keep the same centered style with the same width because we do have a lot of users with 800x600 resolutions. BUT we think it could look a lot better than it does right now.

We like clean and we like easy to understand. You can use the home page of our site as a reference. The logo design needs to stay the same, but the color can be changed if necessary. I'll upload the original design for the logo. The colors of the site can stay the same or change. The content area does need to stay with a white or very light background as it will have a lot of user generated content.

If this is not enough info to get started, PLEASE let me know.

****Cool Social Network web 2.0 Design Needed*****

Creative Brief

Here is what's cooking at Plugmyvideo.com.

Our new startup is a social network that provides a platform for self promoters of hobbyist, business owners, professionals, musicians and entreprenuers alike.

The site will focus on the exhibition of content delivered through video stream as well as blogging, pictures, reviews and rating, instant message, private messaging and so on.

We are looking for a design that is very user friendly, has loads of white space (clarity)
and delivers a balance of ultra simplicity and web 2.0 coolness.

Here are some sites we like;

http://www.thisnext.com/by/JMichelle/
http://www.crowdspring.com/portfolios/gurieli/arklife
http://www.artbreak.com/
http://www.threadless.com/catalog

About the site:

The homepage will be a basic template of the rest of the site with few variations.

We have supplied the logo. It is set against a black background. You may intergrate the top[ of the site as a black border or table to have the logo sit within that space on the left hand side.

We wish to use very little black and keep the rest available for white space. Try a 80/20 approach.

There will be a homepage, a members page (Mary's page) a plugmybook page that has a different layout from the homepage.

We already have a splash page, but may ad a different one later.

Other:
we would like two design submissions from the creative. One is our own crudely hand drawn schematic of a basic representation
of the site as we see it. You may have some liberty here. The 2nd should be an original take on it from your own angle.

When you design the layout for the channels (video links) Pleasee keep in mind that the list of channels will grow overtime. With this in mind please come up with a way for the list to grow as channels are added.

Please keep in mind that some buttons may be added later or renamed at some other point. What we are looking for is a look and feel.

Color schemes: We like soft colors such as white space/light grey/light blue/faint greens

Remember, we want people to stick around at the site and need to keep it very usable as we anticipate high viewer ship.

The general functions are as follows:

Submit button
Search field
Blog
Member profile page
updates (news/contest)
most viewed
channels (sub links) i.e plugmybook, plugmystyle etc

COPE Today Website

Client is launching a new website called "COPE Today." COPE Today will provide treatment of mental health problems such as depression via the Internet and telephone. The goal of COPE Today is to provide psychotherapy that is confidential, convenient, and can be done from one’s home or office. Customers may receive counseling via (a) secure email (b) video conference (c) telephone and (d) live chat.

Client is looking for a very professional, simple, clean homepage. The website is aimed towards a North American general audience ages 21 and up.

Client has suggested stating in simple terms the process customers must undertake for online psychotherapy. This would be displayed on the homepage in some creative fashion.
1. Evaluate our counselors

We like the existing logo which has been included, however it can be modified and/or colors changed for the design. Navigation elements will remain the same, with a category list on the left side and main navigation horizontally.

Website design for me

Hi Folks,

I need you to designing my personal weblog called "audreyhipburn". I like to see this name for my logo on Myriad Pro font or something nice and cool font from dafont.com

I'm a fanatic web standards based design, because I am CSS/XHTML and PHP coder for years- that's my main job for live and get the money.

This personal weblog will not only showing up my latest works but I will post anything about CSS/XHTML tutorial, tips & tricks, PHP development, AJAX, about my personal life, design trends, and so on

All you need to do is designing the home page and a single posting with additional comment list ( 2 or 3 comments are okay, but make it different each lists) and comment's form.

About the style, layout, typography, and colors. It seems I don't have any detail specific for that. That is why I posted the project in here, believe in your creative freedom and ideas.

The designs should have:
* not boring
* in fact I like magazine style in references you can see from http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/08/28/magazine-themes-usage-and-considerations/ but I like too the vintage & retro style http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/10/07/retro-and-vintage-in-modern-web-design/ . Can you combine them as well?
* big typo for each title blog and have excerpts on home page which permalink into single post- hope you get my idea. Added some image/photo it's okay too for each blog, because definitely I'll post each blog with image/photo as well like the others blog :D
* there will be have this section panes "archives" with month & year, "category" list, "tags", my "twitter" update with 1 or 2 lists okay, my "recommendation", and "related articles" on single post.
* nice pagination for "older post" in the bottom
* the main navigation will be Home - Archives - About - Works - Contact

The creatives should not copy-cat from the others blog, templatemonster.com, any premium templates, or something like that. I'm looking 110% the design concepts from your idea, creative mind.

that's it! if missed something, I'll update soon as possible. or you can send a message

Thanks!

Search Redesign

We need your help to skin our search interface.
We wrote the first version of this: http://tinyurl.com/5txauw
and our new product behaves the same way.

So basically a site which has the same features as endless.com however with a new, fresh look. We have identified the key requirements below, and also with an attached PDF.

There are 4 pages (views):
1. search page
   1a. product quicklook popup
2. item page
3. shopping cart / checkout page
4. product compare page

Key components to be styled:

1. search box
2. price slider
3. category tree
4. refinements
  a. items like brands
  b. items like show sizes -- little boxes
5. "clear all" links / buttons
6. breadcrumb -- tracks the selections the user has made: Example: search
"nike" , size "9", color "black"
7. layout
  a. grid view -- at least 4 search results per row
  b. list view -- 1 result per row
8. each search result is composed of:
  a. image
  b. link to detailed view
  c. add to cart button / link
  d. Descriptions on each search result:
      d1. description1 -- name of product
d2. description2 -- primary information for the product
d3. description3 -- secondary information for the product
9. paging controls
10. sorting controls
   a. options are: name, relevance, price, newest, most popular
11. cart widget
    a. should show the total amount in the user's cart
    b. summary glance of all products therein
12. product image popup -- when the user mouses over a search result a small pane with more information will appear
13. Site header - place holder in the design
14. Site Footer

We need three different color palettes:

1. green and gold
2. blue and gold
3. red and white

The primary and secondary colors should easily be changed. Use neutral colors for the widgets so they can be used regardless of the primary and secondary colors. Pay attention to the rounded corners - imagine having to change the colors on the fly - We want to keep our colors out of images, and into a CSS file.

Template Design for KidsSantaLetters.com

Every year the Santa Claus House ( http://www.santaclaushouse.com ) in North Pole, Alaska receives tens of thousands of Letters to Santa from children all over the world.

We have decided to post a few (hundred) of them online for the world to see. Everyone always wonders what happens to all those letters to Santa. Now you know.

The letters will be digitized (masking any personally identifying informatiion) on the website http://www.KidsSantaLetters.com.

This project is to create a template for the website. Again, the site is KidsSantaLetters.com. You can go there now to get a feel for just a few of the letters that we have put up so far. These can be used for mockup purposes.

The main feeling of the site will be along the lines of "kids say the darnedest things", although there will also be "tearjerker" letters from children less fortunate than most of us.

What we’re looking for is this:

The site is built using ZenPhoto (http://www.zenphoto.org). This is open source photo gallery software. Since it’s gallery software, I basically only need a template, as the look will essentially be the same on all pages, with only the gallery body changing (thumbnails to single images.)

The primary elements are:

The Header, containing:
Logo (attached),
Breadcrumbs (where you are on the site i.e. Kids’ Letters>Tearjerkiers>Letter 56),
Search Box

Left-hand Navigation, containing:
1. Category Links: Art, Humorous, Tearjerkers, Thanks, Wishlists
2. A 200x200px ad box

Footer, containing:
1. © 2008, Santa Claus House. All rights reserved.
2. About Us link
3. Contact Us link
4. “Powered by zenphoto” link
5. RSS feed link

I’m looking for something with a family-friendly look, though not too “kiddie,” as it won’t be kids surfing the site, it will primarily be adults.

The site should be optimized for browsers set to 1024x768 as 95% of our traffic has that setting or larger. The look must be able to expand vertically as far as needed and horizontally if necessary to fill 100% of the screen. The 200x200 ad box needs to be above the fold.

If you use art/clipart of any kind for the look, it must be your own original art or royalty-free, as I don’t want to have to purchase additional artwork, or use any citations.

Some text for the home page if you need it:
Kids’ Santa Letters – Letters to Santa from Children All Over the World
“Every year the Santa Claus House in North Pole, Alaska receives tens of thousands of Letters to Santa from children all over the world.

We have decided to post a few (hundred) of them online for you to see. You’ve always wondered what happens to all those letters to Santa. Now you know.”

An example of a zenphoto site I really like is http://www.wallpaperstock.sk

Important Note: I am willing to link to your site/portfolio on the about us page or in the footer (if I really like the work) as the Template Designer, so be willing to put your name on it before you upload it. Just FYI, our main site SantaClausHouse.com gets traffic in the millions of unique visitors in the fourth quarter. We will be cross promoting on our main site, so make it worth my while, and it could be good for you to.

If you have any questions, or need clarification on any thing at all, just ask. Also, I do give feedback on work submitted, so you’re not wasting your time ;-)

Website for FYIndOut

About Us

FYIndOut is our website that allows professionals to find and review commercial services (accounting, legal, developers, consultants) and applications (CRM software, accounting software) as well as events (conferences, webinars, seminars, networking events, career fairs) in the same manner as we do today in our consumer lives. It also allows the solution providers to enter more info on their solutions and participate in reviews.

FYIndOut provides the same common sense approach to find and review commercial solutions that we use in our consumer lives. Ever try to find a service or solution for your business? Google "logo design" or "logo design for business" and see what you get. How do you know who's good? The era of only getting referrals from the vendors themselves or paying a high-priced analyst firm $15K to get a list of providers is over. With FYIndOut, we can provide each other with the same type of qualified, first-hand reviews to help our careers, projects, or business as we do when looking for a personal camera or plumber.

About the Project

We’re looking for help from you to improve the design for three pages on our site:
Home page
•	This is where we need the most help. Our plan is that as we gain content, we will display events that pertain to the user.
•	We need a spot to tell the user about our site.
•	We also want a spot to show what companies are using FYIndOut, and done in a way that it dynamically displays company names/logos.

Events page
•	We want an easy and clean way for them to search for events
•	Date field needs to have a datepicker. (We’re fans of the one on Tripadvisor with the two months showing)
•	We want events that match what they’re looking to be displayed where they can see them without scrolling

Solution Provider Solution Award & Collateral page
(Background: This is the page used by solution providers to enter information about their product or service. It’s one of six pages where they fill out the information but we should be able to use the design on this page for all of the other pages.)
•	Needs to be clean and efficient
•	Tabs need to be clean but show a flow

The site is currently in Beta and can be viewed at http://ww.fyindout.com. We have provided a ppt of the pages we need help with.

What we like:
•	We like our logo…a lot. We’re not looking to change it.
•	We like our page and process flow.
•	White background

Sites we like:
- www.standoutjobs.com (Don’t like the dark background but the look and segmentation are good.)
- www.getsatifaction.com (we like the use of AJAX, easy navigation from the home page, clear segregation and organization of data. Not that crazy about their graphics.)

What we need:
•	It’s important that the design work well on all major browsers (IE 6 & 7, Firefox, Safari) and platforms (Windows, Mac).
•	Clean.Top and Bottom Navigation reflecting the same options on the current site.
•	PSDs that we can use to create the buttons and other objects on other pages in the same design and format.

What we don’t want:
•	Any flash, flex, or animation
•	While many of our customers also use Linkedin, we don’t want to be a design clone of Linkedin.

We have attached the following:
FYIndOut logo
PPT with the screens to be worked on. (Notes are in the Note section of PPT, not slide itself.)
FYIndOut Logo color scheme aka- Set.jpg

Please let us know if you need anything else.

Thanks for your time and we look forward to working with you!

Scott

Halsbury House Blog Site

Creative brief
LexisNexis in the UK publishes a number of magazines in which there are ‘blog’ type columns from legal practitioners. To increase our online exposure and build our brand as an organisation that is at the leading edge of legal commentary we are launching HalsburyHouse.co.uk. Halsbury House is the headquarters of LexisNexis in the UK and Lord Halsbury are infamous within the legal profession.
The subject matter of the blogs will range from amusing perceptions of working as a lawyer, venting about a piece of legislation or a judgement that is controversial, academics talking about the impact of new law or musing on laws that need changed, objectively commenting on new laws and new appointments within the legal profession whether judges, barristers or solicitors in large firms.

The target audience is the UK –

The site will not have a large marketing budget behind it so the design must be implemented in such a way that makes SEO standards/best practice incredibly easy to meet. Likewise accessibility standards must be met

-------------------------------------------------------------

Look And Feel

The website must feel like an authoritative source. The readers are going to be lawyers and those that work within the legal profession in a capacity. It is likely that there will be a degree of readership from the general public. At the same time it should not feel stodgy, heavy or dull – there needs to be some elements of ‘lightness’ and enjoyment – readers should chuckle whilst reading the blogs.

The site will be of great general interest and it is likely that the media will refer to it as well. At a later date we may consider running opinion polls on the website which would drive further interest from the newspapers (off and online)

The users may not be IT literate ) so navigation should be simple and design clean. It must be clear at all times where you are on the site (by using a breadcrumb trail).

-------------------------------------------------------------

Design Constraints

The site will be built with a Content Management System (Joomla)

Text must be used wherever possible (even in the site title, block titles, navigation, tabs, etc) and your chosen font(s) should be universally available to all browsers.

There will be very few graphics except for the logo and the icons listed below and there are very few photos in the content. It will be a challenge to make such a text heavy site look good.

Advertising on the site will take the form of featured jobs from our legal jobs site www.newlaw-jobs.co.uk and links to our legal magazines
The LexisNexis logo must appear on the site – preferably at the bottom

-------------------------------------------------------------

Reference Sites

and see attachments

http://timesonline.typepad.com/baby_barista/
http://blog.geeklawyer.org/
http://www.ukcjweblog.org.uk/
http://www.corporatelawandgovernance.blogspot.com/

-------------------------------------------------------------

3 Pages Are Required

- Front page – this should be the front of Halsbury House. There should be five floors with a lift /elevator in the centre. There should be a floor plan/directory as department stores have which indicates which blogs are on which floors. The idea is that you go up the elevator to the floor of your choice. Attached is a photo of Halsbury House – are you able to create additional floors and remove traffic signs?
- floor landing page – this should show all the bloggers that are on this floor with their photo and bio – the main content block should be the latest postings from all bloggers in chronological order
- a bloggers page – this will show the bio and pic of the blogger and then main content will be a chronological listing of their postings – most recent at the top – archive on the right hand side and a means of navigating around the site

-------------------------------------------------------------

Technical

Images Required
- a simple logo (and associated favicon)
- probably no background image(s) / patterns
- no graphics for navigation (must be text)
- no animations

Size
- 1024x768, centered
- two fixed width columns. A fat column on the left, and a fat column to the right
- the thin column is for navigation, the fat column are for content

Page Structure
- ‘Register and ‘Log In’ options should appear on all pages

Colors & Fonts
- plain text, visited and unvisited hyperlinks
- text input boxes and textarea's

- lists of items
The sizes and names of all fonts used will be required.

- printer icon for printing the page
- icon for sending email
- icon for linking to this page

Design Objectives

This project is for a complete redesign of the AudioMicro.com homepage.

AudioMicro is a leader in micro-stock audio - music and sound effects that can be instantly licensed for use in websites, presentations, videos, user-generated media, and other creative projects. Our library now contains close to 25,000 artist created clips and we want to introduce our service to the world.

Our objectives for the homepage are twofold:
Help artists earn money by uploading their music and sound effects

Make it incredibly easy for professional, prosumer, and user-generated content creators to download and add audio to their projects

We want the homepage to be an expression our users and of us - a vibrant marketplace where creating, exploring, and sharing with the community of audio creatives is fun and profitable!

Requirements

General - the green color used in the current site should be kept integral into the design. The existing logo can be used, or may be updated if is required to match the aesthetics of your new design

Header - must contain logo, primary navigation, login, shopping cart and language selector. You have flexibility about how static/dynamic these elements elements are.

Primary Navigation - Top level menus will change to: music, sound fx, buy credits, free music, free sfx, upload, sign in (changes to my account when logged in).

Highlights -

Focus on driving users to key actions:

Get Started - Buy Audio, Sell Audio

Pricing information is critical - Pay-per-download and subscription pricing tiers need to be clearly delineated

Focus on the 2 primary types of audio is critical, music and sound effects.

Search is critical.

Featured artists module is critical

Other Comments - We are open to your ideas for general homepage organization. Elements such as the pricing banners, 'Add This' buttons, etc should be integrated as best they can but will not be critical to winning submission. Modular design elements that might be reused through the site, and please be sure to include a new sc

Evaluation Criteria

We will be selecting a winning entry based on those that meet the requirements listed above, and best achieve the ideals we described in the 'Design Objectives' section. We will be active in providing feedback and letting you know what elements we like or dislike as we see them.

Additional

The winning designer will have the opportunity to be engaged for follow up projects including the redesign of other pages of the platform.

Website design for online messaging application

Hi, we are a new web startup about to launch our first messaging product into the market place.

We are looking for a fresh, energetic website to represent the product and hope you can help.

The Product
The product that we need the website for, is called cont3xt (www.cont3xt.co.uk). Its a web application where businesses can connect to their customers via text messaging (sms, mms, video). These messages will usually represent offers for the customer. The application also allows customers to subscribe to receive messages from specific subscribing business'es, so it works both ways.

cont3xt - connecting to your customers thru text messaging
cont3xt - contacts and texting

Words that describe us and our products
Innovative, customer focussed, experts, energetic, passionate, vibrant

I have uploaded our logo and a simple wireframe of the homepage we required. The homepage needs to represent the simplicity of getting started with the application, it also needs to allow the user to login/register.

A few example sites where I think this works well are.
www.twitter.com
www.blogger.com

Look forward to the responses.

Simple Landing Page Design

Hi crowdSPRING designers!

We're Train Signal, one of the leading providers of IT/computer training software.

With the launch of our new website we're allowing users to download a free trial of our training software via an e-mail sign up.

The look and feel of our new redesign is attached in jpeg format.

A designer has created a concept that will show you elements that are required like listing the videos, the e-mail sign up and the general flow of the landing page.

Unfortunately the design that was created didn't reflect the look and feel of our new site, so that's important.

This landing page will be posted on our website, so top navigation will still be there.

If you have any questions or need anything feel free to contact me.

Thank You

Fishing guide themed Web templates

I'm looking for eight Web templates geared toward professional fishing guide services. Out of the eight I would like 4 with top navigation and 4 with left navigation. The navigation will be as follows:

Home
About the Fishing
About the Captain
FAQ and Rates
Fishing Reports
Photo Gallery
Contact Us

I will need all internal pages delivered for all 8 templates. In addition, each of the eight templates will also need to be themed by market (four identified - saltwater inshore fishing, saltwater offshore fishing, freshwater general fishing (mostly largemouth bass), and stream/river fly fishing). They will be used in a template engine Web application, so some design restictions may be necessary.

Documentary Film Website

Let me tell you about us.

We're a documentary film team creating a string of episodes for internet distribution. It will be released in 8 parts then placed on DVD for purchase. The documentary is about the now obsolete website Ogrish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogrish). Please read the attached press release for more of an understanding of the topics involved in the film

Here is what we need:

We're looking for a simple three paged website to help promote the series. Links will be:
+ Home – Trailer for the series
+ Info – Film synopsis
+ Contact - Affiliates/contact details/downloadable press kit
Each page design is likely to have to be different to keep the reader entertained. We have currently no fixed logo for the project as the title sequence is not yet complete.

Our target audience is:

We are looking obviously for as many viewers as possible! Fans of the old site and people just curious to hear what the film is all about! None of the footage in the documentary will include any graphic material but due to the subject matter it could be considered disturbing to watch.
Even though we aim for a wide audience the realism is that it will mainly be a 18-50 year old males.

We like these designs:

Looking for something with similar design style to http://www.caramelmovie.co.uk/ - the dimensions and layout look very appropriate. You could also use other websites released by Warner or Fox ending in ...themovie.com for inspiration. The website will not be in flash. The website definitely needs a breath of macabre somehow.

Things we don’t like or don't need for this project or other things to avoid using, doing, seeing, etc.

Just avoid using too much blood splatter. It might be OK in moderation.

Homepage Design for Visionati.com

About us
Visionati.com is a community for creatives (artists, musicians, designers, writers, filmmakers and photographers, for starters), based on Web 2.0 technologies.
The site allows a member to showcase their work, comment on and rate the work of others and collaborate on both personal and professional creative projects using tools which provide the ability to exchange notes, post and download files, and schedule events for the team. The site is pro and amateur alike.

Here is what we need

In short: A homepage design.

The site is currently in Beta, and we feel the homepage needs a rework to better promote, at first glance, what the site does, while at the same time showing the posted work by our members and other important content.

We have been through several page designs created by designers in our own network. We feel that, perhaps, these folks are just too close to the project, since we've been talking to them about the concept and other components for over a year.

Based on the other submissions we've seen here, it's clear that the CrowdSpring community "gets it," and we feel you can hit a home run for us.

The logo and color palette are both locked down, and we're happy with them, but the shell-game of elements on the home page, and the "fit and finish" of same, needs a designer's touch who understands Web 2.0 UI design, and at the same time can put the polish on it that discerning creative individuals would warm to.

The necessary elements include (in the order of importance)

1). Sufficient space for, and a graphical representation of what the site does (showcase your work, comment on and rate the work of others, collaborate with other creatives on projects). This could take the form of a main "stage" at center with three different "frames" of how we roll. Our spec says that users who are not logged in will see this "about Visionati" content, but users who ARE logged in will probably see more thumbnails, and other content that is germane to their use of the site on a day-to-day basis. You only need worry about the former (not logged-in state).

2). Top and Bottom Navigation reflecting the same options on the current site.

3). Thumbnails of posted work ("work" can be visual assets such as photographs, or images of paintings, as well as audio, video and/or writing).
These non-visual assets allow the user to post a thumbnail, similar to "album art" to add a visual representation for that work. In the absence of a posted thumbnail, we have a generic thumbnail icon for each of the non-visual asset types).

4). Collaborations currently under way (where painters work with photographers, designers work with writers, etc). This will, most likely, take the form of a listing of title, a one-line description, and a 32x32 thumbnail on the left.

5). Search field with drop-down menu for options at top of page.

6). A 728x90 "leaderboard", 120 x 600 "Skyscraper" or 160 x 600 "wide skyscraper" ad unit (the site is ad-supported, so this is probably more important than #6, but content is, afterall, king). The size of ad unit used is your call, based on your layout.

7). Members online (a text list of members active within the past 15 minutes)

Other Content, If room is available

Recent Blog Posts
A block or two for "editorial" content

About our target audience
Our members are professional creatives as well as amateurs looking to break in to the field by showcasing their best work, and collaborating with other artists. The gender breakdown will probably end up being an even mix of male and female, and age profile is likely to be 20-40 range.

As creative individuals, our users are sensitive to (translation: critical of) how the site looks and feels, and the homepage is an essential element in establishing a "bond" from the first visit.

Visionati differs from other sites catering to creatives, in that it brings all creative disciplines together in one community, and offers collaboration tools for members to interact with other members on projects (versus other sites sites which simply offer portfolio pages in a specific "vertical," or discipline ).

Our design absolutely must have

Our layout is a fixed 920px, and can be as long as necessary. Essential elements should be in a 725-750px height.
See the elements above for the "what."

Also, of course, our logo, and the color palette (see current site). Other colors can be used in addition, if desired.

Things we don’t like or need
We are not interested in any design that looks like we could have bought it off of a template site (visit templatemonster.com for a great lesson on what we DO NOT want). We need a true, Web 2.0 vibe, but one that does not make gratuitous use of the gradient tool and other cliche Web 2.0 elements.

New websit design for personal debt solutions company

Hi Creatives, we are looking for a new website design for Easy Debt Solutions, a personal debt solutions company based in the UK.

The brief is below

The Easy Debt Solutions website will be a stimulating and interactive experience that motivates users to engage with the website and the Easy Debt Solutions business. The website is recognised by all stakeholders as an example of best-practice website design, and engage its audiences at all levels, providing customer insight and direction to Easy Debt Solutions services. The website will use fully integrated digital marketing that delivers content and services to targeted audiences.

The site will correctly target the users and meet their specific needs.
The site will give clear advice for the user – making the solutions “easy” rather than complex. We also want the site to be easy to use reflecting the business name and ethos. It will also not stigmatise or patronize its audience.

The website will be Easy Debt Solutions.com - the most important branded asset, and in many cases will be the initial introduction to the organisation for many customers, clients, prospects and partners.
Organisational brand values should be reflected in the website design, content and services. Ideally, the website should actually deliver brand values through the delivery of online services. The minimum that should be aimed for however is to ensure that the new website does not negate or harm brand values through failing to meet site users expectations.
Words that describe the core brand values of the Easy Debt Solutions organisation in descending order of priority are:
1. Professional but unfussy
2. Credible
3. Non-judgemental and notcondescending
4. Honest & Up front (in terms of fees and charges)
5. Ethical, Legal and Responsible
6. Simple to use
7. Easy

The new Easy Debt Solutions website will have a number of different target audiences – these will mainly be consumers but in order
1. Consumers who require personal financial solutions
2. Interested groups/ Citizens advice Offices etc
3. Information seekers searching for others (friends, family etc)
4. Potential affiliates

The web is a visual medium and the new website should provide a strong visual statement of the Easy Debt Solutions online brand.

The visual design of the new Easy Debt Solutions website should reflect current Easy Debt Solutions corporate branding, however the online representation of that brand can be extended through the actual website visual design, use of imagery, copywriting and other elements.

1. Simple to use and user-friendly
2. Modern
3. Eye-catching
4. Logical & relevant with limited jargon and legalistic language
5. Friendly but non-condescending

Below are a few sites that we would like to draw your attention to. These are mainly competitors and gives an idea of the what they are offering. Remember that we want to try and stand out from our competitors.

www.newtomorrow.co.uk ( without such large glossy visuals on the home page)
www.charcol.co.uk
www.debtreducers.co.uk
www.debtfreedirect.co.uk
www.cogent-design.com/print/design-1.htm

Our existing site can be viewed here - www.easydebtsolutions.com. Please use this as reference but do not base a design on what currently exists.

Please also refer to our ebook, which we are really happy with.
http://edition.pagesuite-professional.co.uk//launch.aspx?pbid=2775746e-da52-426b-a002-16e8fe1003ec

Key things that need to exist from the homepage.

Call Me Back
Chat with advisor
Take the debt test
Apply online now
Customer Testimonials (maybe)

Please lend your design to 1024*768 resolution.

What we need delivered is a new homepage and a level 1 page. We will cater for the rest of the navigation/levels from this.

Good Luck

Online fishing tackle store

I have previously created an online tackle store (www.tacklestore.us) that follows the same business model as www.woot.com. The site is created with ZenCart and has all the functionality that I need. I just need a new look and feel for it. I need a concept that is fresh, new, catchy, and fishing related. I also need a logo that captures the site name and its purpose.

There is not to many pages to this site. Just the home page and a product page really. The other pages for the items on the left column can follow the same them as the home page with a space for the text.

I am open to all ideas. Please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions.

I like the look and feel of http://www.takemefishing.org I do not want to copy them but if you are looking for a direction here you go.

Groupon (Group + Coupon)

About Us:

Groupon is a unique deal a day site (see: www.woot.com) that offers fun things to do and places to go for a specific geographic location at a huge discount. Groupon is able to convince vendors to offer said discount because of the following premise:

A powerful purchasing predictor is what one's friends are doing and buying. For instance, people interested in wine tend to hang out with people that also are interested in wine. And if a company is pitching a product, its best prospects are the friends of its current consumers: a golden leads list.

A study by Shawndra Hill, now Assistant Professor of Operations and Information Management at the University of Pennsylvania, shows a very strong correlation among friends purchasing the same items. This intuitively makes sense: one cannot pick his demographic makeup, but can and does pick his own friends, often based on similarity in attitudes, values, interests, and personality. This similarity leads to similar behavior and buying patterns amongst those friends.

Here is what we need:

We need a simple, sleek, attention grabbing site that will not confuse our users. The most important factor is the deal of the day. They also, must have large calls to action that will make purchasing and inviting friends/coworkers easy to do. Here are some comparable "deal a day" sites:

www.woot.com
www.zazz.com.au
www.catchoftheday.com.au
www.delight.com

Target Audience

We are looking to attract Young Urban Professionals between 24-35 looking for fun and exciting new things to do and places to go.

Designs

Our parent company is The Point (www.thepoint.com), though design does not have to be similar. If you are lost and don't know where to start, one idea that was tossed around is the idea of Groupon = Grouper (fish) and a play on the whole fishing motif...but we could have done that ourselves...please take it in any direction you choose. We like simple - as we do not want to confuse our consumer base.

Our Design Absolutely Must Have

1. The Point Widget as found inside the coupon on the attached wire frame.

2. A count down clock....remember each deal is a daily deal and is good for only 24 hours.

3. A strong focus on the actual deal

4. Large calls to action (Buy/Invite Friends)

5. Creativity with Simplicity.

Best of luck...

website for a giant grapefruit

Overview:
Plummelo.com is an online recipe box. Users save recipes from anywhere on the internet to their plummelo account. User also use tags to save their recipes, which makes finding them a snap. Plummelo.com went live a little over a month ago with the objective of working out some workflow design issues, and testing some functionality.

The orange-green color theme (please visit plummelo.com) looked OK when I created my first powerpoint version of the website. I've gotten lots of favorable comments on how vibrant the color theme is. However, maybe I've looked at it too long but it doesn't look that great to me right now. Perhaps it's the particular shades of orange and green. Anyway, I'm open to other color schemes as long as they convey vibrancy.

I now need to take the website to the next level by getting more traffic. I need a website that conveys a legitimate business yet retains vibrancy and link to a gourmet kitchen.

Here's what I need:
I need a new website layout and one additional screen. Please see the attached powerpoint file for the two page layouts that I need. The second one has many elements that are identical to the home page layout, but the center panel is what I need.

I have a logo (see attached) that I'd like to keep. I also have a favicon logo (also attached) that can also be used throughout the website, but that's up to your creative judgment. let me know if you need any other file type (jpeg, ai)

Our target audience is:
women between the ages of 25 to 55. They are educated and can be either a professional or a stay at home mom. They are looking to manage their time, so efficiency is important. They also want gourmet or near-gourmet food. The secondary target is anyone who loves to cook, including men and unmarried individuals.

What we don't like:
- Overly feminine. Although are primary users are married women with kids, I don't want to alienate men, those without children, or single people.
- Clutter. We prefer a clean design with sufficient white space to not overwhelm users. I noted many websites try to cram too much functionality so the user is assaulted with a barrage of colors functional elements.

Punch Up Our Current Design

Overview:

We are small development shop that is building a fitness tracking application for people who do CrossFit, Kettlebell, and Triathalon traning. Basically those individuals for whom results are meaningful and the workouts are incredibly intense(think vomiting). This is an application written to "scratch our own itch" as we do CrossFit and often lament on the lack of software for tracking and comparing workout results and progress.

What We Have:

We have a preliminary design of a page the user will see when they log into the system. The goal of this page is to show the user the workouts they have scheduled for today.

What We Want:

What we would like is for someone to take our current draft and make it more energetic. We believe the current one embodies the functionality and layout we like just it is missing some snap. We want to see a design that communicates more energy, vitality, and genral sense of fitness.

What We Don't Want:
We are not looking for rounded buttons, corners, and gloss galore. We prefer functional over flash. We simply don't want people to be bored by the colors and design.
You don't need to redesign the logo as we will be doing another design session for that, yet if you want to we won't hold it against you!
