Diet and fitness coaching service needs four web pages

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

The Health & Fitness Team is a new health and fitness company that plans to launch two coaching services to help people stay on track with their diet and fitness plans. DietMinder and FitnessMinder are aimed at people who want to lose weight or keep fit, but need help staying motivated.

Our value proposition is about helping customers to reach their diet and fitness goals more quickly than they could without outside help and supporting their efforts to maintain what they have achieved. The tag line for DietMinder is ‘Keeping you on track for diet success’ and for FitnessMinder it's ‘Keeping you on track for optimum fitness’.

We have a broad target audience and the web site therefore needs to have broad appeal whilst reflecting our core values: trusted, innovative, committed, open and dynamic.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a design for four web pages: the home page and three internal pages. In addition to the home page (Home) we need pages that will be used to promote subscriptions for the diet service (DietMinder), to host some of the content promoted in our newsletter (Weight Loss) and to describe the company (About Us). The descriptions in brackets relate to the tabs across the top of the page in the web site structure. To get an overview of how these four pages fit into the overall structure, take a look at the attached blueprint.

We will use our web site to communicate our value proposition, generate leads and provide health and fitness information. We will also use the site to sign up visitors to our newsletter.

The home page is very important as it will draw people into the site and therefore has to be engaging and dynamic. Above all, it needs to get people to take action, i.e. subscribe to our newsletter or sign up for a trial, the all important sales bit!

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

The web site is primarily aimed at affluent 25-55 year old male and female members of private health clubs, who want to lose weight and/or improve their fitness. We are talking about professionals and skilled workers who take pride in their appearance and make an effort to live a healthy lifestyle.

Whether motivated by image or health, they need help staying on track to meet their goals.
They have either lost their motivation or are not getting the results they want. They don’t necessarily want to spend money on a personal trainer or private nutritionist and like the discrete nature of receiving ongoing telephone-based support combined with convenient, on-demand access to trained instructors when they need it.

The secondary audience is made up of business customers that have an interest in the health and fitness of its staff, members or patients. Typical customers include employers, healthcare professionals, and private medical insurers, etc.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Take a look at these web sites to get an idea of the type of layout, use of colour, imagery and use of white space that we like:

www.lafitness.co.uk
www.vimeo.com
www.apple.com
www.carsonified.co.uk
www.heals.co.uk
www.virgin.co.uk

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

We expect the site to reflect our corporate identity (see attached stationery) and have a clean, uncluttered look and feel throughout. We have outlined the specific requirements for individual pages below. ('Contact Us' is not listed as it has no specific requirements, but we still need a design for this page):

HOME:
3 pieces of content (teaser)
Call to action to sign-up for newsletter
Call to action to sign-up for DietMinder trial offer (free pedometer)

WEIGHT LOSS:
3 pieces of content (full-length version)

DIETMINDER:
Service logo
Images should focus on consumer transformation and results
Call to action to sign-up for DietMinder trial offer (free pedometer)

JOIN:
Web form to capture personal & payment details

We’re not keen on the use of clichéd images, such as dumbbells, tape measures or weighing scales. However, if you have a novel way of treating such images we’d be happy to let you change our mind!

We'd rather focus on images that show the positive outcomes that we help clients achieve or the changes have improved their lives. Feel free to decide on an appropriate style of images, based on your interpretation and understanding of the brief.

Website templates for security systems company

We are looking for a fresh new design for a couple of existing sites that are different brands within the same group of companies, and will therefore have a common look and feel. Due to this we require a design that will look good with a variety of base colours. The companies in question provide security related devices for buildings (e.g. revolving doors, CCTV systems, car park barriers etc). The design must suit the type of audience buying these products.

With regard to look and feel the client has some preferences - most prominently a light, clean and organised look. The client likes the boxed look of http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008/en/us/default.aspx as well as the background concept.

Another site of interest is http://www.principalcorp.co.uk. This site has a navigation concept they are keen on e.g a main nav across the top of the page, a sub-nav down the left side as well as another fixed nav element which contains links to common pages across the site. It is envisaged that each main nav element will have a drop down to aid faster navigation.

Attached are a few wireframes that show the sorts of layout that the site will use. These layouts will be used inside a content management system so therefore must suit the potential variability that this might provide, whilst taking into account the fixed elements such as navigation.

Colour wise, the only existing colours are those in the logos - orange and blue. It would be nice for the designs to differentiate the brand using these colour schemes where possible.

Firestarter Labs Web Design

ABOUT US:

We're developing a Web application for preparing presentations that don't suck.

Our tool takes a user through the whole process of developing a presentation: analyzing the needs of their audience; simplifying complex concepts; developing persuasive arguments; and ultimately producing visual media (e.g., PowerPoint) and rehearsing in a way that reduces anxiety.

We are focused on developing a user interaction that is conversational, efficient, and a little fun.

We’ll be involved buyers – providing timely feedback on every new design.

WHAT WE NEED:

We’d like you to design a homepage, a sign up form, as well as a couple internal pages for our application. For the homepage we have one goal: drive users to try our application. Without filling the home page with text, we’d also like to prevent the misconceptions that we’ve encountered previously:

       • We’re not a replacement for PowerPoint
       • We’re not a presentation design company
       • We’re not a speaking coach

The homepage needs to create interest so get the idea across and skip the typical stiff corporate looking templates. Be creative. I love creative uses of typography, hand drawn designs, layering, textures, grunge (at a level consistent with our logo)…

Our web application is basically an overgrown wizard (sort of like TurboTax). We’ve been developing and testing paper and software prototypes, and now we need to polish the visual design. I’m attaching a document with wireframes for two screens from the application and descriptions of various elements.

For the application we are striving for user efficiency without being boring. I think we'll need to stay away from gratuitous decoration.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE:

Anyone that creates presentations, regardless if they use PowerPoint, Keynote, or even a whiteboard. While many of our users will be corporate, we believe the easiest converts will be those that want to stand out from the crowd.

SITES WE LIKE (AND WHY):

Good examples of uncrowded home pages. The content needed for SEO purposes is mostly below the fold.

     • www.mailchimp.com Simple / clean design keeps the focus on the “call to action”. Larger than average fonts. Some detail is available, but it is mostly below the fold.

     • http://fortysevenmedia.com/ “Don’t hire us (if you want average)” - great

     • http://mutantlabs.co.uk/ Pretty, and a little odd.

     • http://www.31three.com/ Interesting image (not standard stock photo).

     • http://www.matthamm.com/ Fun – bold typography.

     • http://www.floridaflourish.com/ Beautiful.

     • http://www.silverbackapp.com/ Simple.

WHAT WE DON'T LIKE:

     • Trite imagery

     • Typical business stock photography, and formal homepage layouts

     • Home pages with lots of tiny text

WHAT ELSE?:

We're attached a MS Word document with all the above plus wireframes. If you have alternative ideas you want to pass by us, or need more copy or application information just send me a message.

Premium Quality Web Design - Executive Jet Charter Company

Let me tell you about us...

Edwards Aviation is a specialist corporate jet and propeller driven aircraft charter company. It owns and flies its own fleet of executive jets and has operated its own website...

http://www.air-charter-australia.com/

...for many years.

In recognition of the changing distribution channel dynamics that the internet has been the catalyst for, the company is now seeking to significantly upgrade their online presence and actively pursue online marketing, direct to the market rather than via agents or intermediaries.

Here is what we need...

A fresh approach to jet charter website design with an engaging home page and sub-page layout that delivers a quality message that connects with site visitors and prompts them to call or make an online enquiry.

Our target audience is...

Corporate Executives and their Personal Assistants, Corporate Travel Managers, Entertainment Travel Managers (eg on behalf of high profiel actors or musicians), Government Travel Managers

A particular emphasis on major mining, banking and Fortune 500 companies.

Key factors to convey...

Quality, service, we truly will go to the extreme to help our clients achieve their charter needs, professionally and discretely – we are upscale and offer great service at competitive rates

Highly personal service and highly flexible – in recognition that in business, things often happen at the last minute

Warm, friendly, approachable – we "connect" with our guests

Safety, reliability, the highest aircraft service standards

We absolutely must have...

We don’t wish to place any constraints on the design phase and although we realise that we don’t really have a logo, for the moment we are quite happy with a simple, elegant text execution of our name “Edwards Aviation” Australia – once we have the web site design we will blend corporate identity with the new site – still simple and elegant

We will need you to designboth a home page layout as well as an internal/sub-page page layout so that we can see how you treat internal navigation and pages – please look carefully at the draft navigation file uploaded – we will be adding a LOT of new content

Some final notes...

If we were a beverage brand we would be...Moet et Chandon

Must be search engine-friendly eg room for a reasonable amount of text

Must feature the aircraft

Must feature some of the destinations across Australia and the Pacific that we fly to, from major cities to mining locations in the desert

New Financial Services Product

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a startup financial services company looking to enhance the presentation of our product on our website. Our product offers homeowners the ability to protect the value of their home against declines in the real estate market. Prospects can come to our website to learn about the product, get a price quote for their home (by giving zip code, home purchase date and purchase price), and continuing through the enrollment process all the way to completing a credit card transaction to enroll in the service.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Our current website has three main page templates: a home page, information based pages, and quote/purchase path pages. This is a new product category. We have a unique challenge to simultaneously educate, establish credibility and sell.

Our existing website is: www.equityprotection.com

Interested parties should create concepts for each of the three page templates. This project can either be a complete rework of creative or if you prefer, a cosmetic upgrade of the existing approach. We are open to all ideas – including a new logo!

The selected winner will also have the opportunity to engage in additional work to build out all of the pages.

Motor Yachts Australia website

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Motor Yachts Australia are the Australian dealership for Princess Yachts International, who are builders of big, expensive luxury yachts. Motor Yachts Australia will be presenting new yachts in the Princess range as well as second hand vessels and two luxury yachts for charter.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a new website layout, designed to be implemented onto an html/css based site maintained through a CMS. The site needs to have a strong family look & feel and heavily draw on the design style of the Princess Yachts International site which is at:
http://www.princessyachts.com/index.html

In keeping with the above site, the new design must by elegant, upmarket, refined, contemporary, tasteful and stylish.

The above site is all Flash and a bit slow over what we laughingly call broadband here downunder, so the new one is to have minimal Flash and be designed to be lean, clean and fast.

Deliverables will be psd layouts for:

• Home page layout, with identical main nav and drop down menu items as the Princess Int. site, but with the addition to the main nav of "For Sale" and "Charter". The "For Sale" menu item will have submenu for "New" and "Pre-Owned".

• Catalogue pages layouts for the "For Sale" section:
- Listing of vessels for sale with brief description and thumbnail image
- Detail page for each vessel for sale with detailed description and image gallery, button/link for pdf download, enquiries form. For an idea of required data points for the description and specifications, take a look at a boat detail page on http://www.boatpoint.com.au

• Separate section for vessels for Charter, linking from a prominent and individual graphic device on the home page layout as well as the main nav. The two vessels for charter can be viewed at:
http://megistiblue.com/myproteus.htm
http://megistiblue.com/myiris.htm
Required elements are summary copy, specifications data, accommodation copy, image gallery (non-flash), download pdf button/link, enquiries button/link, print button/link.

• News & Events page/s. No calendar is required, simple listings linking to detail will be sufficient.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Wealthy boaties.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

http://www.princessyachts.com/index.html

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

The site will be presented as Princess Yachts Australia. The Princess Yachts logo is required. Dramatic and attractive imagery is required for the home page from the Princess Range.

"Cause Marketing Firm" Needs Clean, Credible and Creative Basic Website

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Kozfor is a new "cause marketing" professional services firm that has been engaged by major national and international non-profit organizations to conduct fundraisers through innovative special offers of consumer products. We will work with both nonprofit organizations and, in some cases, for profit organizations whose mission is "cause oriented". Our founders and key employees are seasoned executives, lawyers, doctors and consumer product marketers.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Phase One of our business plan will focus solely on being a "service provider". All we need for Phase One is a basic website (5 pages or less). If Phase One goes according to plan, then Phase Two will require a website that is much more sophisticated - but that's a different project altogether.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

C-Level executives of major national and international nonprofit organizations (and the top level or two in marketing and development functions), marketing executives (specifically those focused on customer acquisition) at major consumer product brands, as well as end users and third-party "watchdogs" who may have interest in what we are up to.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We have uploaded the logo that was selected from a very large pool of submissions via CrowdSpring over the past couple weeks. We don't want something that looks like it is based on one of the generic Intuit/Homestead website templates.

New Home Page for Circ.us

We are looking for a bold new look for our marketing firm, Circ.us (pronounced "circus"). The current site (http://circ.us) is a Wordpress theme that we've customized but we don't feel its professional enough looking for what we do and it looks washed out with the amount of white on the page.

The Circ.us brand should be fun but modern. We don't want the look to be too cliche, so use big tops, three rings, clowns, elephants dancing and other elements sparingly or give them a totally new take. We want this to be a some what understated look from what people expect when they hear "Circus" is our name.

What will stay the same from the existing site is the navigation and the need for a featured work area that shows off some art and a description of some of our projects. The current site has a rotator that cycles through recent news or portfolio pieces.

Regarding our logo -- We are open to changing the colors of the logo as they are somewhat difficult to work with on a site design. You can also drop the tagline from the logo if it helps. I've attached a white on black version that was recently done as an example of what we're open to doing.

Screenplay search website - Scriptbutter.com - Need 2 pages: Home page, Search results page

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We're a screenplay search engine - type in a title or an author and we'll show you URLs where you can find the the script in various forms. The difference between us an other search engines is that we enable users to submit URLs for where the screenplay can be found or tell us when a URL we return is no longer working.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need 2 pages:
1) Home page
- Should have a search box a "search" button next to it. Should go in the middle of the page, similar to where the search box is located on Google
- Need a logo that says "ScriptButter" to go directly above the search box
- Below the search box should text that says "Submit a script URL", with a down facing triangle next to it. If pressed a shaded color box slides down with three text boxes - "Title", Author", "Version", and "URL". There should also be a button that says "Send it Over".
- The bottom of the page should have a colored bar with links for "Contact Us", "Terms of Use", and "Privacy Policy".

2) Search Results page
- this is a list of results frown what was put on in the search box.
- The Search box itself should be moved to the top of the page, but centered as it was before.
- Each result should have the following attributes: 1) Title, 2) Version, 3) Author, 4) URL
- Next to the URL attribute there should be a button that says "Tell us if the URL is dead"
- Under each result should be text the says "Tell us if any of this wrong?" with an upside down triangle. If clicked, a shaded box (same look and feel as the home page one) should drop down. In there should be text boxes for "Title", Author", "Version", and "URL", and button that say "Send it Over".
- At the bottom of the page should be the same text described above for "Submit a script URL", with all the same function.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Consumers, movie fans, avid readers, writers, web savvy readers.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We like the Search Box and color here: http://gettunage.lethain.com/ (note that this site is not working, we just wanted to point out the design of the search box. We also like the color of the search button.

Other colors we like are light royal blue (king of like on Digg - http://digg.com/). That along with a pale, light yellow.

The way the songs are shown on Hype Machine (http://hypem.com/) are similar to how we would like them shown on the search results page.

Goal: To create an iPhone app that will motivate people to travel to Britain via their interest in British Film and TV.

Description: The proposed iPhone app will be a destination marketing app in disguise. As opposed to showing the traditional gps navigation around a city (which is very helpful once you are at the destination), this app will create intrigue with Britain by offering a variety of British Film and TV games.

iPhone app will have 4 buttons for navigation:

1) Trivia - British film trivia, British TV trivia, and general British trivia. A, B, C, D options will be available for the user to tap on the correct answer in a multiple choice format. After each question is answered correctly then a fact about Britain will be displayed on the screen before advancing to the next question.

2) Picture Puzzle - rearrange small picture blocks on the screen to solve the picture puzzle. Possible images that would be created as a puzzle would be celebrities or famous geographical landmarks of Britain. After each puzzle is solved then a fact about Britain will be displayed on the screen before advancing to the next puzzle

3) Shake Your Knowledge - Urbanspoon model - "lock" your chosen parameter (s) and shake to get the name of the movie that was filmed within your locked parameters:

Region, Actor or Actress, TV Show or Film

lock in one or more and shake...combination spins then movie title is displayed with more info about movie.

4) Optional - Explore Britain tab - General information about Britain and Travel

VSECU Credit Union Website Design

VSECU Creative Brief

No longer just for state employees, the Vermont State Employees Credit Union is open to everyone who lives or works in one of seven counties in Vermont. We are a not-for-profit financial cooperative serving Vermonters since 1947.

Their current site: http://vsecu.org/

Here are some words they used to describe how they want their new design to look:
CLEAN, LIGHT, Accurate, Professional, Knowledgeable, Friendly and Responsive. Another phrase that came up often in our meeting with them was, "Don't make me think." Most of that has been dealt with through the wireframe, but they basically want good design that's intuitive. So just keep in mind as you add colors and cues and design elements that they should make it beautiful as well as make the user's choices clear.

We like the look and feel of these sites:
* Mint - marketng site and app interface – http://www.mint.com/

* Mail Chimp - http://www.mailchimp.com

* Wesabe  - https://www.wesabe.com/
* Tennessee Sumertime - http://summer.tnvacation.com/

* Altura CU - https://www.alturacu.com/ (Only they do not want their design to be as multi-colored as this.)

* Superfan - http://superfan.com

* Vimeo - http://vimeo.com/

* The Whitehouse - http://www.whitehouse.gov/

* Organizing for America - http://www.barackobama.com/

Of the sites we, Trabian, have designed this is VSECU's favorite: https://www.hvfcu.org/ They like it for its whitespace and clean look and that it still has dimension. That was important to them.

The sites above have the kind of clean, consistent look we like. Some of those styles won't literally translate in this wireframe, but this is to give you a good understanding of what we would like to see.

You will find attached the PSD of the *wireframe of the homepage as well as VSECU's logo (Sorry, for now it's a lowres file, but it should work. I'll upload the vector file in the next day or so. Still waiting on the client.) and an EPS file of a graphic hey use in their branches and want incorporated into the site. That's in a zip folder titled "VSECU Creative Brief."

*The wireframe should be followed strictly. It shows where everything goes. Please do not take any liberties with the layout of the elements as you see them here. Please don't shuffle any of them around. Please use the attached PSD as your design document. It has the proper width of the site as well.

MaxiForce Product Based Web Site Re-Design

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

MaxiForce Traffic Control Bollards is a product line developed by Blue Ember Technologies LLC. Bollards are essentially 'posts' that are installed in the ground to prevent unwanted vehicle traffic from protected areas. MaxiForce manufactures both standard fixed units as well as unique and operable specialty bollards that address maintenance, quick access and life safety concerns. We sell bollards into many different markets including: Educational (K-12 & College/University), Commercial, Government (Local, State, National), Recreational (Parks / Trails), Industrial, Hospitals, etc.

Our products are seen in both the built environment and in more natural settings of parks and trails.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a new look and feel for our product website (non-commerce). We will be replacing the site seen at www.maxiforcebollards.com with a new design. We have a new logo (attached) and we are open to any color scheme except for dark backgrounds with white text. The design should be tailored to fit browser resolutions of 1024 x 768 and up. There must be 4 pages designed as follows:

1. The main page - looking for the following elements:

Header Navigation: New Logo (attached), Home, About Us, Info Request, Search (text box and button)

Image Bar: We will have rolling content here. Content is yet to be developed. Use attached image (path.jpg) as background or make a new one. Don’t let this take up so much of the screen that the content below can't be seen without scrolling. Forward and back slide buttons and a small square representing each of 8 slides should be part of the image bar/pane.

Primary Navigation Menu (no submenu roll-outs required)
Buttons/Links labeled: Products, Build-A-Bollard, Resource Library, Applications & Photos, Educational, Tools

Secondary Navigation Menu (maybe a menu right under the rolling image bar?)
Buttons/Links labeled: Collapsible, Removable, Retractable, Fixed, Custom, Accessories

Footer contents: Contact Us, Feedback, News & Events, Terms and Conditions, Site Map, © 2009 Blue Ember Technologies, LLC - All Rights Reserved

Body
- There must be 3 content blocks which will act as navigation to our main visitor types
- These can be a part of graphical header bar or can be in the body of the page

The three blocks are:
i. Architects & Specifiers
- Button to go to specific content page
- Background image of architect or CAD drawings or something similar (if design needs it)

ii. General Contractors & Installers
- Button to go to specific content page
- Background image of steel beams, concrete being poured or similar (if design needs it)

iii. Owners & End Users
- Button to go to specific content page
- Background image of professionals with scenery in background or similar (if design needs it)

- A ‘Feature’ content block which we will dynamically populate with product data

- Include the following icons somewhere on the main page: twitter, facebook, slideshare, Linked in, RSS

2. Secondary Content Page - Similar to the main page with a much narrower header bar and similar look/feel. All navigation menus must be present.

3. Secondary Content Page (GREEN) - Same as secondary content page above but must have a “Green” (environmentally friendly) color scheme.

4. Product Detail Page - Please visit the following link to get an idea of the product information needs: http://www.maxiforcebollards.com/ProductDetail.cfm?CatID=2&PID=26

Re-use data and images seen at the link above to show off a data populated version of the newly designed product page. Again, all navigation menus must be present.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

We see the majority of our web traffic from Architects, Engineers, General Contractors and End Users from many segments (listed above in the ‘Project brief’ section).

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We are leaving the design wide open as long as it contains all of the items listed above.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

We do not want to see white text on dark backgrounds. Dark colors can be used for design elements but not as the primary background color.

Contact Information
     - The contact information should show up the same place on every page layout (linear or block)

CalorieKing Web Site Redesign

Let me tell you about us:

CalorieKing is an online weight management program centered around healthy eating and exercise. ("calories in, calories out"). Additional information about the program can be viewed here: http://www.calorieking.com/program/you-and-your-family/

As well as offering help for people who wish to lose weight, there are also programs and support for those who want to maintain their current weight, or to gain weight. The web sites' resources also include forums, and an extensive library of recipes and health and weight loss related articles contributed by company staff as well as other organizations and contributors.

Additional info about CK:
•	A trusted name; we’re probably one of the top “brands” with medical and health professionals.
•	We’ve been in the business a long time, our books have been published for over 30 years now
•	We’re a weight management company which uses technology, not vice versa
•	We’ve very reasonably priced compared to our competition
•	We have by far the best food database, which is very important when counting calories is so vital
•	We’re not a “diet”. We’re based in science, we’re not there to lock anyone into a “brand” or a system
•	Our system is easy to use, well guided and we have an incredibly supportive member-only community.
Here is what we need:

The project is to redesign this homepage only: http://www.calorieking.com/
Please see attached creative brief for additional information.

The desired action is for visitors to eventually become a paid member

Our target audience is:
•	Those who wishes to lose weight or maintain their current weight.
•	Our audience is roughly 80% female/20% male so the design should incorporate feminine touches…softer side

They’re interested in losing weight, or diabetes or some other aspect of nutritional health. They’ve been directed to the website either through buying our book (which is a Top 20 bestseller), being referred by their doctor or registered dietitian or through Googling for “calories in banana” or something similar.

We like these designs
•	Chantix, basecamphq, apple for the framework/functionality
•	Livestrong.com, ediets, dailyplate, myfooddiary, jillianmichaels for design

We’re looking for a very modern look that is attractive and easy to navigate and understand.

Website Re-Design

Hi Designers,

We are looking to have our website redesigned, its outdated and build using Flash.
We would prefer to build something that can integrate into a CMS easily something that we can update on the fly.

We are following a very Swiss Modern Minimalist approach to our design but now we want something that is a mix between Minimalist and avant garde.

We need 3 screens designed.

1)	Home page – has to be kick ass
2)	Gallery page – consider this a portfolio page
3)	Content page - something that hold our image and txt content
4) Generic page - some layout alternative that I can switch around

Please refer to the existing site for an idea of colors – brand elements – and over all emotion and feeling we would like to stay within our boundaries but very close to the edge.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Looking to create a website that prominently features what we do. We have two lines of work: (1) media consulting and (2) mergers and acquisitions. For media consulting, we work with clients to evaluate the effectiveness of their culture, business process, technology, etc as it relates to their ability to engage and monetize their audience. For mergers and acquisitions, we advise companies on the buy side and sell side in transaction services. We're only 2 people at our firm

Homepage: Page with featured image space for various completed projects

Remaining Pages should have very similar design:

Project/Client Pages: Need space for quotes from clients.
Blog Page
People
About

We need something on our home/landing page which allows our audience to quickly access one of our two services. We will probably feature case studies/projects as well as a portal to the two separate services.

Having an area for client testimonials on the front page may be useful.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

- big, easy to read text
- simple color scheme, using similar colors from our logo/existing website (www.deparisredinger.com)

Acoustic Duo Music Group Web Site

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

This website is for an acoustic duo called Farrel and Stevenson. The duo has performed over 500 shows since 1988 and has headlined for bands such as Bruce Springsteen, Chicago and James Taylor as well as many others. Their acoustic blend of harmonies combined with their intricate finger picking style takes fans back to the singer songwriter era performing tunes from groups such as: James Taylor, Eagles, Simon and Garfunkel, Indigo Girls, John Denver, Dan Fogelberg, Garth Brooks and many others.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We are looking for a very rich, clean looking site with dark earth tones to match the wood on our guitars. Artwork would include any sort of music related items particularly focused on the acoustic guitar(s), as well as some performance shots of the two artists in various venues.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

We are looking for a site that would have mass appeal both to the fan base as well as any potential venues that we might play as this site would be the source for photos, videos and sound bytes from the act.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Not looking for any radical type designs. This duo has been performing for over 20 years and want a very clean and first class look to the site. No flaming logos or anything like that. Just crisp, warm colors and simple navigation with heavy focus on dark solids and rich artwork. The areas of the site in terms of navigation will include home page, bios, our music and contact and schedule pages.

Website Design for CheapShipping.com

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We're an established logistics company that matches businesses with different transporation companies and gets them discounts on their shipping, whether it be overnight packages, palletized freight, or international shipments.

We recently bought the domain name, CheapShipping.com, and are going to use the site as a key marketing source for our business. We're going to be doing some extensive PPC campaigns and link building/seo all with the hope of driving as many people to our site as possible.

Here's where you come in. Once we get the people to our site, either to the homepage, landing page, or general content pages, we need them to either use our toll free number to call us or fill out our contact form with their information so we can follow-up with them and convert them to a customer. The better looking our site is and the more effectively our landing page converts to a lead the better our business will do.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

I'm wide open on this design. I do already run the website shippingdiscounts.com, which is in the same area. But I definitely want a different look. I will need a nav bar at the top that has similar links, but also I want to highlight a new button, "Get a Quote"....whether it actually be in the nav bar, or in the design of the site, and it may not necessarily be a button but its a very effective tool for our business.

I don't have a logo for this business, need one that is clean, easy to read, and effective.

Although the content will be rewritten, it will be similar to what is currently on shippingdiscounts.com

During the wrap-up process, we'll also need basic layouts for our contact us page, a general content page, services page, and a landing page (I have a good idea of where I want to go with that, but can discuss later). The contest winner will be decided on the homepage design, and then we'll work with the winner on these pages during wrap-up.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target audience is usually business minded individuals, more often males, and is either the CEO, President, CFO, founder, type decision maker or is the shipping/logistics person that handles a warehouse's trucking and logistics.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

www.freightquote.com, www.freightcenter.com, www.freightbrokers.com These are all competitors of ours in some way. I like the clean look and feel of these site, although each is unique in their own way.

I like the font on careerplug.com

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Clean layout. Not crowded. Effective buttons to get people to our contact page or to get them to submit the contact form.

Wine Group Home Page

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

TheWineForum.org is a recently formalized not-for-profit organization of senior level business executives, politicians, civil society leaders, and academics devoted to creating great wine experiences in order to raise funds, grow awareness and direct resources towards deserving charitable causes.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We have existed as an informal group for several years but only recently formalized the organization and need to develop the image and brand consistent with the quality of our members and the wine makers with whom we interact. We have a logo (attached) and hope with this project to create a simple web site. We need a Home page and two other pages: About and Contact.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our members are:
-CEOs (of leading Developed and Emerging Market companies)
-Public Figures (MPs and politicians from Developed and Emerging countries)
-Civil Society Leaders (Heads of NGOs and multilateral organizations)
-Academic Leaders (Thought leaders from top academic institutions)
-Media Leaders (Editors and noted columnists from primary media channels)

About 1/3 are from North America, 1/3 from Europe and 1/3 from other parts of the world (esp India and China).

The wineries with whom we work are only the very best from all of the world's top wine regions.

We also deal with top hotels (where we occasionally host events), wine critics, restaurants, etc.

Our audience (members, wineries and charities) should view our organization as:
- professional
- serious but fun
- not commercially driven -- its about passion for wine not making money -- however is makes good business sense for the wineries to develop stronger, more direct ties to our members (because they buy a lot of wine)
- exclusive but not snobby
- concerned with giving back -- most events also feature a charitable cause to which members make donations
- connected both to the history and tradition of wine making as well as the modern, high-tech business world from which many of our members come

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

http://www.lombardodier.com/home_en.html

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

No wine glasses or other party like images; this is a serious group. The color palette should be muted; no burgundy other than the logo.

Font should be trajan pro
Logo color is cmyk 28, 100, 93, 35

Web Design for a Clinical Study Portal

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a software developer operating in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industry. Our clients expect professional quality in a no-nonsense environment.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a Webdesign for creating Clinical Study Portals (CSPs). These CSPs will be used by people participating in Clinical Studies or Trials. The CSP will be a platform which will contain all different sorts of information, like study documents, training information, Blog, Forum, participant profiles, etc.
So the design for the CSP should enable people to easily find the information they are looking for, without any distraction. It should have a high level of Usability.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Typical users of this Portal will be employees of Pharmaceutical companies, Investigators (e.g. physicians working in hospitals) and patients (e.g. persons participating in a clinical study).

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

No presets. We like a clean design, with a sufficient level of flexibility to adjust the content to our requirements.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

As we envision, but feel free to shoot, Tabs will be used to group related sets of information, like a Tab containing all relevant Study Documentation. Number of Tabs, and information on a Tabbed page will be different for different groups of users (patient vs. study personnel). So again, the design needs to allow to display information in a flexible format. This also implies that any graphics need to be scalable.
We have created a Functional Design example for the Home page (see Attachment). A more detailed description for each of the four page in in the enclosed PDF file.

We want to point out that Usability is extremely important, so the Design:
- should be intuitive to use.
- should be designed with its intended users in mind.

Creative site for an artist (painter)

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a coder-heavy web design firm in need of creative-heavy graphic design assistance. We can do just about anything with cool graphics. We just need the cool graphics!

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

One page each for:

1) Home (This page could also be the "New Work" page.. you determine whether that makes sense or not.)
2) New Work (see above)
3) About Artist (Bio, Artist's Statement, Resumé)
4) Events
5) Contact (including Galleries that carry his works)

It is not necessary for a completely new layout for items 3-5. A simple variation on a theme will be fine.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Art Galleries that may consider carrying the artist's works.
Art Collectors.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

angierenfro.com (because it is so creative and ties in with her work so well)
johnsherrillhouser.com (because of the way you can go to the next piece without closing the one you are currently looking at)

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

This artist wants his work to portray the dignity of the animals he paints. Therefore, any reference to barnyard, etc. will not appeal to him. He does not consider his work to be "cute".

We plan to use the artist's signature as his logo. He does not have one with a transparent background. So the current plan is to crop various of his works to include his signature and possibly use those as random images within the header.

The samples of works are not hi rez - and therefore will be simply for the purpose of mocking up the site.

Our current site is www.whosthebigdog.com and is a PHPfox based site. Ver 1.6

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We are looking for a website design that reflects the edgy nature of our social networking and competition platform. The platform is a social network and competition engine targeted towards ages 16-30 that are interested in an edgier lifestyle. We have partnerships with Mixed Martial Arts, casinos, extreme sports and several alternative lifestyle companies.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

16 to 30 but primarily the college crowd. We want them to know that this isn't the site for their little brother or their fathers. This is the dorm room where farting is encouraged, clothing is optional and beer funnels can be bought in vending machines.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

http://sexwillhappen.com/ - We like some of these colors and the web 3.0 style. Obviously this is just a blog, s
http://www.blackboxrepublic.com/ - This is just cool, again not the right format, but we like the web 3.0 style and color scheme.
www.askmen.com - Its sleek, sexy and classy
www.maxim.com - Glossy, vibrant and well thought out. Very user friendly

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

What we want
We want something Web 3.0, social and inclusive, edgy (think MMA fighting, gambling/casinos,Vegas, College spring break). Ultimately we want what’s next, not what’s now, so come up with something that kicks ass and we will like it.

We definitely need a new header. We aren't attached to anything tha tis currently on the site including the logo. Feel free to experiment with different ideas.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We are looking for a website design that features
•	The Download of our Free FDA-Cleared Medical Software Product
•	A brief description of the company.

The flavor of the site should resonate with America’s 3+ million Medical Professionals.
It should say, “We are a company that designs for YOU and YOUR needs, instead of IT departments and upper management.”
Our Mission is ALL about the End-User Physician. This will be conveyed through Design, Price, and Sales-Model. To do this, we create Products for THEM that THEY help design. This is THEIR chance to PARTICIPATE in that Design.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Medical professionals- Physicians, Nurses, Technologists, Researchers etc. who are proficient in technology, are usually young, are both men and women.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Must:
Submissions should consist of a Home page and download page: background treatment with callouts for logo and type reserves.
Don't:
Should not look like all of the other medical websites. We are not selling to management this should appeal to “the common man”. Should NOT look like our current website www.fiatluximaging.com !

Website re-design - homepage and first few sub-pages

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

QualitySolicitors.com is a network of lawyers across the UK. The lawyers have been chosen by the public as being the absolute best, most customer service focused lawyers around. It is the public's feedback the determines whether or not a law firm can remain in the network.

So, when people need a lawyer, rather than look through directories or browse the internet, they come to us. The either call us or they complete our webform and we then contact them and connect them to the most suitable QualitySolicitors.com member law firm.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We have an existing website that we would like to give a design overhaul. The site is qualitysolicitors.com. We want to de-clutter, web 2.0, simplifyy and stylise it! The only necessity is retaining a description about us (i.e. "the best lawyers - chosen by you" and the text the follows, which will change actually in content but that's not really important right now!), a web-form which should be as accessible as possible (but also needs redesigning), a clear phone number and our logo (which itself can't be re-designed as it is too deeply part of all our material). The colours - black, "pink" and white should remain the base colours. Other than that - all is up for grabs!

I'd be inclined to included some icons in place of the purely text navigation, given the absence of photos, and unclutter lots of the stuff making it clearer and more engaging visually. I'd like to see a re-design (consistent across the pages of course) for the following pages:

Homepage
Why use us
Guides, articles and news and
An example page containing one of the news stories eg: http://www.qualitysolicitors.com/a7-guide-to-divorce-law.html

Every page should contain the webform.

The navigation can be played with in terms of where it is, how it is accessed etc. but the basic site map ought to remain the same.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

We want the site to be more modern and fresh. We are trying to drag the (usually not fun!) process of getting a lawyer into the 21st century.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Crowdspring (!), behance.com, played around with this on wordle which looks quite cool: http://www.wordle.net/show/wrdl/1213620/QualitySolicitors.com - quite like the general "W" hotel style. Basically we want the site to look more web 2.0 than it does at present whilst retaining the colours and logo and basic site map structure. General want it to be simple and functional but in a really visually attractive way!

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

See above. Webform and phone no on every page and retention of the existing logo.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

A local mentoring organization is in need of website re-design to match our new branding (logo, materials, etc)

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a website layout...front page and sub-pages template. We need something that is fresh, inviting and will represent the organization's new look and brand.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Volunteer, donors, school staff/liasons, general public seeking info. Want to think we are a professional organization with a good reputation.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We want site to match look and feel of new logo

Overton Safety Training Print Safety Manual Shopping Site

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

This project will complement the existing web site for Overton Safety Training (overtonsafety.com). This is the first step in the process to add functionality to and modernize the existing site. The company provides training services and materials to corporations whose employees use heavy machinery in their daily jobs. They serve customers in the United States with on-site training; this new website will support a new line of business selling training manuals for trainers and their pupils in circumstances where Overton's training services are not needed or are not in the customer’s budget.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

For this project we need a website design consisting of four one-page templates that will ultimately be implemented using the Zen-Cart shopping cart system. The site must incorporate a single branded look, but support the unique content requirements specific to the purpose of each specific view. The design should include a “splash” or summary page that can both be linked to from the existing web site, but would also be appropriate for being linked to directly by a marketing campaign. Designs are also needed for a category view and an individual product view. One further design will be needed for a simple “content” page containing formatted text, such as a company bio or frequently asked questions.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

The target visitor to this site is a person seeking safety training materials on behalf of a company that provides its own in-house safety training courses. The products sold are course materials for the safe operation of heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts and rigging. The typical site visitor's experience with information technology may range from basic to mid-level, so the design must be very easy to navigate.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

There is no reference sites as this must be complementary to the existing company site. Should be differentiated from competitive sites such as:
www.wrrc.com
www.iptbooks.com

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Our design absolutely must have:
Use Overton Safety Training logo; color scheme should closely match the main company site; opportunities to evolve the look include: matte the blue, no use of the red.
Specific use of the iconic black/yellow safety stripe as shown on training materials
Must use the tagline “Your Complete Safety Training Source”
For font match in logo and text, use Ariel
Use of partner and association logos

We don’t want to see anything “cutesy” or comic-like. The company's previous identity was changed because it used cursive fonts and cartoon images (like Seven Dwarfs/Highlights magazine). Animations are not needed.

Digital Beckley - Medical Weight Loss Clinic

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Digital Beckley is a professional design and development firm that creates business and enterprise class web sites for our clients.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

MONITOR RESOLUTION CONSIDERATIONS
The GUI should be designed to fit on a 1024px wide screen (working width is about 970+/- pixels).

The site will need to fit on a 1024x768 monitor. Height is not critical, however it is expected the design should accommodate scaling/liquid growth as the client adds content - increasing the perceived height of the design.

MENU / NAVIGATIONAL ELEMENTS
The main menu bar MUST be consistent from the home page to any subpage.
A horizontal or vertical menu bar shall be incorporated into the design. This area will be reserved for the text based dynamic menu (you may use placeholder menu items for design purposes). The general menu is composed of "Home, About Us, Services, Skin Care, Library, Physicians" - (the client will be able to add additional items as needed, but this should NOT affect the design, rather the design needs to accommodate dynamic text.

A separate area of the GUI should be designed to accommodate the following 'standard pages':
News, FAQ, Contact, Directions, Calendar.
These can be conceits/buttons/calls to action that hyperlink to other pages. (For an example of seeing standard and dynamic menus, please see www.beckleysanitaryboard.org or www.appalachianfestival.net)

Calls to action for documents and visual galleries are not required to be presented on the interface. (This is controlled via the CMS)

COLOR / THEMEING

Color Suggestions: Base the site colors on the colors used within the logo provided. The artist is free to provide his/her own color themes.

The artist should be as creative as possible while maintaining a corporate or spa type of interface.

FONT RESTRICTIONS
Natural text areas or text that is not a graphic when in production should utilize default native families such as Arial, Verdana, Helvetica or other sans-serif fonts.

OTHER NOTES
A homepage only submission is required at this point. The awardee will be tasked to also provide a sub-page design.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

People in search of doctor lead weigh loss and skin care. Primarily women of adult age.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

The client likes the site located at www.reflectionscenter.com .

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

No animations!
No clipart!

Creative Website Design Needed for Vita-Mix "Pitch-Me" Video Submission Contest

Vita-Mix, the leader in high performance blending equipment for home and commercial use, is looking for a website for its upcoming "Pitch Me!" video contest: a search for the next Vita-Mix video demonstration star.

In business since 1921, Vita-Mix founder William G. “Papa” Barnard demonstrated the Vita-Mix machine in the world’s first television infomercial in 1949 and started an industry. You can view the video here: http://www.vitamix.c...pa/barnard_movie.swf

Now Vita-Mix is looking for the next great Vita-Mix demonstrator and will be accepting video submissions online from potential "pitch men" and "pitch women" this fall. Winners will be awarded a cash prize and the chance to star in Vita-Mix web-based videos and possibly even TV commercials and personal appearances. More information on the company is available at www.vitamix.com.

Vita-Mix has a logo for the competition which we have uploaded. We would like the look of the website to be designed around the logo.

We are in the process of producing a commercial for the competition that needs to be prominently featured on the home page.

Once the website design has been decided, our infrastructure provider will provide all back end functionality including registration, uploading, voting, comment capability and more. We need you to provide the graphical design and content area sections that are exciting and motivating. The website will be tested and ready for live submissions by 11/1/2009. Therefore, we need the website design no later than 10/14/2009.

There is a lot of information that needs to be organized and we are looking for a design that isn’t too cluttered. We need a total of four web pages, whichever way you think is best to organize:

1) One Active Contest Home Page with areas for: (You may implement these links as you choose, using tabs, baseline links, buttons, etc.) Contest Home, Terms & Conditions, Enter the Contest, Vote for Your Favorite Video, Most Recent Videos, Highest Rated Videos, View the First Vita-Mix Infomercial, Try a Vita-Mix Machine, About Vita-Mix, Contact Vita-Mix, Tips and Guidelines, Vita-Village.

It would be ideal if this active contest home page had the “Pitch Me!” contest commercial playing at the top of the page along with areas displaying the highest rated videos.

2) One Finalists Page – vote for your favorite video– the contest is almost over and only the finalists are left!
3) One Winners Announced Page (for when the contest is completed)
4) One General Page (with header/footer) template to use for all additional pages on the site.

Here are some sample sites that were implemented by our hosting company, Kickapps.
