The Phoenix Transformed...

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Phoenix Transformed Inc. is a technology consulting corporation which caters to those who normally would not have access to these services. Our target customers are individuals and entities (small business, charities, etc.) would need affordable technical services ranging from website builds to computer builds.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo based on the yin-yang symbol where the halves of the symbol are created from the phoenix fire bird.

This logo will become the new website logo (because we can't draw, we really really can't draw, and all of our artists friends/family can't come up with the logo that I envision)...

It will also be used on marketing materials and business cards at some point down the road.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our customers are those looking to become more technically savvy. We provide this service by creating customized computer solutions, websites and other services as required.

The logo should show the perfect combination of two completely opposite, but equal halves which represents the founders of the company.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

At this stage there are no font requirements although in the past we did use a fiery font with glowing flames.

One bird must be glowing fire the other bird is its exact opposite and composed of ice. Both birds should be 'intense' almost glowing and should possibly have flames/mist/steam as appropriate flowing from them. We really would like to see outstretched wings, flowing tails, and upward gazing faces for the birds.

The fire bird should preferably use lots of oranges and reds and the ice bird should use blues, whites and silvers.

The logo will most likely be displayed against a black background, but we would prefer a transparent background in the provided files so that we can use it against any color.

The 'dot' which is used in the yin-yang symbol in each half to display a component of the 'other' half is optional here. That is you have the option of making the birds 'all fire and all ice' OR 'Fire with a hint of ice and Ice with a hint of fire'. In either case, we prefer the birds to be as close to 'twins' as possible, just made of different elements.

Our website (www.phoenixtransformed.com) has an rough rough ROUGH idea of the color scheme in the upper left hand corner. The current logo is by no means final it was the best we could do at the time and is definitely only meant as a placeholder showing the yin-yang shape and possible colors.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

The fire and ice components MUST be present and the color schemes listed above MUST be present. The only optional portions are the usage of the circles of opposite element and the usage of the company name in the logo.

Logo Design For Web Development Firm

I'm a lead developer for a small web development company based in Canada. We're looking to re-brand and launch a new web site (see project files).

We're mainly focused on the social media space and do lots of work with open source platforms (ie: WordPress, Facebook and Joomla). We consider ourselves an "Umbrella" company and besides web development for clients we also have several online startup ventures. This is also where our name "Brolly" comes from: "Brolly: colloquial terms for an umbrella".

The logo will be used on our web site, business cards and perhaps other print materials.

We're looking for something clean and simple. The umbrella graphic should be worked into the design somehow although it can be altered in any way that you see fit. Ideally, we would like to be recognized by the umbrella graphic alone.

Some logos on crowd spring that we liked:

http://www.crowdspring.com/projects/graphic_design/logo_and_stationery/epe_identity_creation/gallery/eric_patrick_enterprises_logo

http://www.crowdspring.com/projects/graphic_design/logo/logo_for_righteous_return_foundation_tm/gallery/3rd_entry

http://www.crowdspring.com/projects/graphic_design/logo/create_a_logo_and_icon_for_boombox_fm_music_service/gallery/boombox_3_hoffmeister

Important: The logo font color should be red (#cc1b1b) or something close to this color.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Happy designing :)

The Sourcer's Playbook (Cover Design)

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

I own a company called General Lead (www.generallead.com). We specialize in three areas: Talent Delivery, Advanced Sourcing Services and Custom Recruitment Training. Basically, we help clients find candidates to fill open positions, and we train recruiters and internet sourcers.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A cover for a book. We are putting together a book called "The Sourcer's Playbook" which will be a training guide/manual for recruiters and internet sourcers to use to find candidates to fill open positions. It will be a "how to" guide or a "step-by-step" manual to learn from.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Recruiters, Internet Sourcers, Researchers, HR (Human Resources), Staffing Firms, Consultants

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

This is a tough one to describe. We are calling this book "The Sourcer's Playbook" and what we had in mind is a spiral bound football players playbook to hand deliver to people to learn from. I ideally would like an illustration designed that we can use as a cover for the book. It can resemble a sports-persons playbook, a beat up spiral bound book cover (that is used, scribbled on, drawn on, torn or frayed a bit), a book cover with random plays drawn-up on the cover, etc. It can have different colors and fonts used on it. Not too particular on this. The cover doesn't necessarily have to resemble a playbook, but want something original that we can use as a cover. It also does not need to look torn, worn or frayed. That was just one thought I had. I'm open to a "clean" look as well. Another thought is using various logos of "WEB 2.0" companies and plastering them all over the cover too. I'm also very open to have designers run with the own thoughts on what the terms "sourcer" or "playbook" means to them, and design something from there.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Must have the words "The Sourcer's Playbook" on the cover in some font, form, shape or design.

Farley-Pomeroy

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Farley-Pomeroy Financial LLC is a financial planning and investment management company that serves middle to upper middle class individuals, professionals, small business owners and retirees. Our focus is on making a difference in people's lives not just managing money.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

The logo will be used for letterhead, business cards, brochures, and a website.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

The firm is looking for a clean professional and distinctive logo. The perfect logo will be eye-catching allowing the company to stand out in a crowded field.

The logo can use the entire company name or simply Farley-Pomeroy. Taglines are also acceptable. The logo should be similar to other professional service firms such as CPAs or Attorneys.

The ideal logo would embody;
precision like a fine timepiece,
confidence like a profession athlete,
elegance like a diamond bracelet, and
security like a child’s teddy bear.

We would also consider whimsical but not cartoonish.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Color preference would be jewel tones.

Logo - Simple and can act as stand alone. Similar as Honda, Toyota, GM, Dell, etc. Must incorporate "SROKA" and somehow incorporate a very simple design resembling the sroka bird. Would like this be put as an emblem onto material handling equipment.

Traditionally our logo is as shown on srokausa.com. It consisted of a gear and wings. However, we would like a more modern and simple look that we can use as an emblem.

DamagedCars.com Logo

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

DamagedCars.com purchases vehicles with body or mechanical damage for resale or export. We tend toward mid to higher value vehicles. You are welcome to visit our current website for more information, however do not base any part of your design on the current site. The entire website will be up for redesign once the new logo is chosen. We don't like the current logo.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

The logo will be used for our website, print material and advertising material. DamagedCars.com should be the prominent part of the logo. The .com is optional. The words are connected but need to be easily distinguished from each other. Additional elements are welcome as well. We want a corporate look. Something with an automotive theme would be good but is not essential. I would prefer a design that is more "flat", ie, does not occupy 2-3 vertical lines of advertising space. The logo needs to be scalable to work well on a business card.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

We have a very broad customer base, ranging from individuals to large insurers. Obviously all are driving age.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

We do not work with junk or scrap and want to avoid any appearance of this element in our design.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

I design and teach law courses for web delivery. I retired from full time teaching (after 33 years) and want to "brand" my courses with my own logo other than the university I was associated with. I want a logo to be used in the course banner. I usually design with RapidWeaver or Dreamweaver.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

I would like a logo that associates emphasizes "online learning" and the "law". The logo is for branding online law courses under my specialty designed portal.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Primary audience is law schools, law students, lawyers.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

I do not want a staid design that shows lawyers in wigs, gavels, scales of justice, binary code, courthouses, law books, etc. The "law" is staid and conservative by background, and learning law online is 21st century--I'd like the logo to somehow reflect that.

Logo for Dynamic Design and Development Firm

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

skeevisArts is a design and development firm, with a focus on social media application development, and web development (we also do a fair amount of high end design as well). We focus on building reliable websites that work, and applications that solve a real problem. Think fun, experimental, etc.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

I need a logo. It'll be for my site, for stationary, proposals, banners, etc. Something that works at different sizes, whether it's taking up half the page on skeevisarts.com, sitting on my business card, or very small at the bottom of a client site (possibly). Something with color, but looks good as well totally bleached or blacked out.

I've attached my current logo. Feel free to completely disregard the colors, etc.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

* Creative agencies who may need technical services
* Companies looking for someone involved and savvy with social media, community building, Twitter, Facebook, yadda yadda.
* Companies, Individuals, and Organizations looking for end-to-end assistance, from strategy to execution of web design, widgets, applications, etc
* Other developers + designers
* Bloggers, press

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

* I love playing with different greys, blues, and whites (aka I love the crowdspring site), also possibly mixing in a gold/yellow?
* yes, a soft blue (the crowdspring blue being a perfect example) is my preferred color.
* minimalist, nothing too intricate
* I'm a fan of logos where the company name is a good typeface (aka not necessarily hand-drawn), with an optional delineation between "skeevis" and "Arts", and a
* I don't necessarily want the high end snooty boutique feel, nor do I want it to be boring and corporate, or kindergarten.
* I like logos where there is some kind of icon or symbol set to the left or right of the image (see my existing one)
* I want it to express someone reliable, who can get the job done.
* think technical, powerful.

Hard coming up with designs I like right now...

Virtual Deal Factory - Character & Logo For Website

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

"The Virtual Deal Factory, where deals get made!"

Hi - we are Virtual Deal Factory.

We are starting the first community based platform for real estate investors across the country to find, buy, sell and trade real estate deals.

You can see a draft version for our site we are working on now.
http://virtualdealfactory.com/home.php

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

"The Virtual Deal Factory, where deals get made!"

We need you to create a character or characters we will use to brand our service and create a unique feel.

This character(s) should be fun and memorable.
But at the same time professional with a web 2.0 feel.

To start we will simply need a main logo including the character or characters.
This will suffice for the bid.

For completion of project we will also need the character in a variety of poses doing different things which we can use at different spots on our website.

Think the character -
- carrying huge dollar signs
- with a wheel barrow full of money
- physically picking up a house to trade it and make a deal
- holding tools and building a huge dollar sign
- sleeping and dreaming about a house with money exploding out the windows
- etc etc etc. - you get the idea.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Real estate investors and individuals interested in making money in real estate.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We are inspired by the Coca-cola Happy Factory.

And see this being very much along the same look & feel.

Blue Lines Creative Logo

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Blue Lines Creative is an interactive Consulting firm catering to Agencies and Fortune 500 companies. Our projects include simple online video players, comprehensive content management systems, and cutting edge Flash applications utilizing 3D and Video.

There are a few reasons we choose the name Blue Lines Creative, but the one we tell everyone is we has some blue lined graph paper in the room when we were brainstorming. What that means is we are technically oriented. We specialize in building the impossible or at least the things that your everyday designer/developers can't do. What we often do is go into an agency on a project and tell their designers the sky is the limit, we can do anything. We have yet to fail with that mantra.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

First and foremost we need a logo. We want a logo that has both a text element, "Blue Lines Creative", and a pictographic element. We want both elements to be designed together, but also to be able to stand on their own. We are thinking that in some cases the text, "Blue Lines Creative", would appear on it's own to conserve space, and we would like that text to be just one line.

In addition to the logo we'd like to see some business card and letterhead designs, just simple and clean that reflect the branding you create with the logo design.

If possible we'd also like the designer to facilitate hiring a printer to create the stationary.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Mostly Agencies and other consulting firms, but we also work directly with businesses of all shapes and sizes.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We like this logo, but not the colors or the gradients applied to it, when they have it a flat color We love it. http://www.citizenpictures.com/

We like these business cards, they have a lot of character and have almost an interactive quality to them.
http://creativebits.org/files/126896150_26ac5ed72f.jpg
http://creativebits.org/files/126894294_ea81eae669.jpg
http://creativebits.org/files/126897018_d0e9c631b3.jpg

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

This might sound crazy, but we don't necessarily want the color blue to be used. The colors you use should reflect one of these ideas:

1) Our founder is color-blind (true statement)
2) Blue Lines defies expectations and goes beyond thinking outside the box, we make new boxes for you to think outside of.
3) Blue is not an appetizing color.

Logo Design for Averline Technology Partners

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Averline Technology Partners is a technology consultancy specializing in providing small businesses with technology expertise typically reserved for large multinationals. We partner with small companies to help them understand the technology options available to them that maximize the effectiveness of their businesses.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo that will be used on our website, business cards, stationary and advertisements.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target audience is owners of small businesses (companies with less than 100 employees). We're a local company and our customers are as well, operating in the Philadelphia, PA metropolitan area primarily. We want our customers to see us as their partners who understand technology and can apply it to enhance their business.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

I kind of like this http://www.rts.com/images/logo.gif, in the sense that it combines an abstract logo with a compact representation of a long and potentially unwieldy name (like ATP's). This is kinda cool - http://www.profiweby.cz/aitom/images/logo-profiweby.png. Generally speaking though, I'm not sure what I want besides something that projects professionalism, competence, technology, speed, and creativity.

Skin biopsy laboratory needs logo

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a physician-owned clinical laboratory that processes and diagnoses skin biopsies from patients. Our contributing physicians perform a skin biopsies on their patients, typically to diagnose a skin cancer or rash. The skin biopsy is sent to our lab and then processed into a slide which is interpreted under a microscope by our dermatopathologist. A pathology report with the diagnosis is sent back to the contributing physician.

We provide:
1) Accuracy in diagnosis
2) Quick turn-around time
3) A personal relationship with the dermatopathologist, who is always available and can provide live review of the original slide via a microscope-mounted webcam.

For more information on our type of business, you can look at a similar company's website - Dermpath Diagnostics.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A logo that conveys a sense of competence, trust, reliability, and professionalism. The logo may (or may not) use an abstract rendition of either:

1) a skin biopsy under the microscope, for example http://missinglink.ucsf.edu/lm/DermatologyGlossary/img/Dermatology%20Glossary/Glossary%20Histo%20Images/normal_skin_not_of_a_special_site.jpg

2) a pathology slide, http://www.geocities.com/steve_schoner/mybrain.jpg

3) a microscope, see Leica DM LB

However, it should not be too literal. Alternatively, you can come up with something different, using symbols, letters, etc.

It will be used in stationery (pathology report, biopsy requisition form, letterhead, envelopes), business cards, and a website. A sample pathology report from another company can be found at http://www.dermpathdiagnostics.com/assets/AckermanSampleReport2007.pdf

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

1) Physicians who perform skin biopsies - typically dermatologists, but also family practicioners, etc.
2) Patients will also be viewing copies of their pathology report, with company logo and design.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

1) Company name in design: Center for Dermatopathology
2) Can be rendered effectively in greyscale such that it transmits well over fax.

Scoopal Inc., Visual Branding

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Scoopal (www.scoopal.ca) is a local search platform for urbanites to rapidly evaluate and share local businesses based on reputation, social significance, and geography.

Scoopal is a targeted online advertising platform that amplifies word-of-mouth advertising with measurable results for the independent local business owner who builds their business on reputation.

The creative execution should not take itself too seriously, but must still remain sophisticated. The target consumer is highly educated and has quite refined tastes; they want a clean and simple interface to navigate through and enjoy contemporary and minimalist aesthetics.

The visual branding should also be simple.

Brand Personality

Scoopal is youthful, exciting and a highly refined brand. It is design conscious, and is about expertise and social-networks. It must resonate with the widest group of people possible for the crowd sourcing to work. Some brand descriptors:

•	Reviews
•	Relevant
•	Merchant

•	Responsible and sincere.
•	Kind and genuine.
•	Trendy and very much in the know.
•	Has a witty and irreverent sense of humour.
•	A great chef that is always trying something new.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Brand Icon:
The development of a simple brand icon is paramount. The execution must be simple enough to be easily adapted in a complete array of various visual representations and physical manifestations at a minimum cost. (i.e., it must be simple to turn into a promotional trinkets-and-trash item to be distributed at mass as well as be able to be visually striking enough for identification in print advertisement).

Icon must lend itself to being displayed vertically or horizontally.
Delivered as a vector (.AI and EPS) along with Photoshop version.
Multi Colour and B&W versions must be supplied. The supplying of an additional one colour version would be appreciated.

Colours:
Primary, secondary, and tertiary colours should be chosen for the brand and communication elements. Delivered with pantone equivalent colours.

Font:
Primary, secondary, and tertiary fonts should be recommended for the brand and communication elements.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Scoopal as a brand must appeal to a very broad consumer base in order for the fundamental crowd sourcing to work. However, the consumer target market identifies the most likely user of the Scoopal service.

Scoopal's target market is the 'urbanite'. The urbanite is a young, educated, and socially conscious urban professional and affluent consumer with an optimistic outlook on life.
Aged, 22-36
Live in major urban centres

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Digg.com - We like the crisp lines, unique and readable font, its consistency and flexibility. Their brands is very flexible, as their text brand or digger symbol can be together or separate.

Mediatemple.net - Once again we like the crisp and readable font - works with flat colours or gradients, etc. We like that they have a symbol and logo in one - once again flexibility is paramount.

BlackBerry - http://images.google.ca/images?um=1&hl=en&rlz=1C1GGLS_enCA291&q=Blackberry+logo&btnG=Search+Images
A very clean and flexible brand that appeals to the masses. Once again, a combination of a symbol and text.

CrowdSpring - A very flexible logo, that is a combination of a text and a symbol - both which can exist without each other and still communicate the brand.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Brand Icon: It MUST be a combination of text and a symbol - both of which must be able to communicate the brand together or independent of each other.

Colours:
Delivered with pantone equivalent colours.

SafetyPAD Icons

We looking for four sample buttons so we can decide on a style then we'll contract to have all the buttons done.

In order to update our interface, the easiest thing we can do is replace the icons. You can see our product here: http://safetypad.com. The interface we want icons for is here: http://safetypad.com/screenshots/screenshots.html

We are limited by the application, so the icons have to be the same size. The background may end up being a different color so if the icons lend themselves to a different background color, go for it.

The attached sample two icons are too cartoony. We like our site and would like the icons to be consistent with it. We are collecting patient data and graphics should have a professional feel.

There's also a PowerPoint presentation with all the icons that will ultimately need redoing. For now we want four samples.

Thanks for your help.

Modern website for video discussion solution

About us:

TimZon (timzon.com) is a startup providing private video discussion and collaboration solution for the Enterprise.
The name can be pronounced as Team Zone, Time Zone or anyway you want.
It is aimed at facilitating asynchronous communication between geographically dispersed teams or individuals.

Here is what we need:

We need an updated look for our website's main and about pages.
We have a site in production, but we are sure that you can do better than we have designed.
Most of the website content is dynamic and the layout is adjusted automatically based on the screen resolution.
We only need design for the front page and the about page, but a template for future pages would be useful too.

We will give you and your creative mind free space to innovative but here is some wishes:

This is primarily a business focused tool.
We usually write the site name as TimZon, but if you think that the case should be different, please feel free to change it.
Feel free to touch our logo (attached) color, size, orientation or shading etc. in order to tune it up or make it completely different if you feel like it.

Welcome page:
---------------------
We would like to maintain a clean and simple theme for the site, using white or light background.
The site should be gender neutral and aimed at businesses while not excluding consumer users.
The size and position of the top header (where sign in is, for example), video discussions/contact list (the vertical panel on the left) are not moveable, but are placed on the page dynamically depending of the user windows size.
The main page should include elements inviting the user to sign-in to the site (See our "check it out" on the current site) and explain simple steps and benefits in an exciting way: (eg.: The crowdspring main page explain clearly what the site does).
- Sign In: Use color and contrast to make the Sign In button stand out (people need to find it easily).
- Simple steps to get started (needs to be highly visible and contain something close to the following):
1. Create a discussion for your project.
2. Choose who gets invited.
3. Record videos instead of sending email.
4. Collaborate like never before. ( Bold?)

Make the Simple steps snippet on the landing page as clear and concise as possible. (We don't want the user to have any confusion about what the website is doing.)
The current site has the logo bleeding down into the discussion area. We're interested in keeping this element.
The privacy and terms of service links can move to where the copyright is on the current page. They don't have to stay in the upper right.

About page:
---------------
This page is used by our users to :
+Learn more about us:
  - Address
  - Phone
  - EMail
  - Twitter
  - Blog
+ Submit request for support, enhancement or share ideas.
This page is completely customizable (we're open to your creativity) but the header section should be similar to the main page.
As with the welcome page, we like the overlap of the logo and the content.

Here is some more information:

Audience:
Gender neutral.
Ages: 18 and up (it's generally for businesses)
Entry level technical proficiency (casual web user).

Brand image:
Color: Clear/White/Light (something light) for the background.
Feel: Simple / Minimalist
Emotions: Professional / Fast

What we need:
For the final delivery we need Photoshop files with layers suitable for use in constructing a full working website. We will also need JPG and PNG of the various elements.

We will give feedback immediately to every participant and feel free to ask if you have any questions!

Logo for Activist-Based Consumer Website

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

CrowdWorthy.com is the resultant project of the worsening economy. Stores are closing, companies are going out of business, and we are falling into a bad economy with exponential speed. CrowdWorthy exists to bring all consumers together, all sources of consumer information together, and price comparisons from all retailers together under one site. We seek to provide a way for our users to have the most information possible, so they are able to make the most informed buying decisions they can during this bear market. And as we put our economy in mind, we're donating 50% of our gross revenue to charitable organizations. An initial beta launch will be taking place within a few weeks, which will display minimal functionality and optimization as we get used to the new business and prepare ourselves for the final launch.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A logo. A strong logo. A logo conveying exactly what we stand for. We have organized the site to show that we will not stand by and play by the rules, which tell us that the only actions we can take are to turn on CNN. We have to call the crowd. I would like a logo with certain cultural rhetoric (such as a red, blue, or strong grey color scheme). A logo with power. A logo that represents the people who will come to this site, generating the detailed feedback for others to take advantage of, and a logo that shows the strength of a group of people who want to say something.

The logo would also show the slogan: All Together Now. (Period included)

And as we're releasing a beta version that will be used purely to test the hierarchy and base architecture, I'll need a version of the logo that defines it as a beta.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

The universal consumer. The guy who doesn't like taking the position of simply viewing the economy get worse and worse as he sits on the couch. The mother who wants to buy birthday gifts to her kids, but realizes that she has to be smart as she doesn't have a lot of money right now.

60th Anniversary Logo

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a hearing aid retail company located in Oregon and SW Washington state. Since 1949 we have been helping the hearing impaired community by providing the highest level of service and products available in our area. We sell hearing aids directly to the public, and are referred by physicians, labor unions, and our patients.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We are in need of a special creative logo to apply on our business cards, letterhead, advertisments, etc. that will display/announce our 60th year in business in the year 2009.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Generally, our target audience is people between 60-85 years old. However, more and more younger people are seeking our help for either themselves (babyboomers) or their parents.
We want to maintain a professional, friendly apprearance that shows experience and trust.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We are looking for a diamond design, in keeping with traditional 60th anniversary gifts.
Our traditional color scheme for offices and advertisements is Pantone #7502 (sand color) and Pantone # 476 (dark chocolate).

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Our creative pallet is open and anxious for all entries. We've attached our corporate logo for reference.

essential church

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are launching a new church on 2.22.09. It will a very modern looking, family friendly church. Essential Church has been birthed out of our doctrinal statement: On the essentials we have unity, on the non essentials we have liberty, in all things love. We want to focus on that which is essential for people to know God.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We want a logo that uses the lowercase "e" from essential church. The logo must have a the right looking lower case "e" but we're not sure what that "e" is. We're hoping you can help us find the right looking "e"!!!

We want the logo "e" to be able to stand alone without the church name. The "e" can either be set apart from the name or used as the first letter of the name.

We would like the option of putting ".tv" at the end of our name (our web address will be essentialchurch.tv) It might be easier if you put the .tv on the name and then we can erase it if we want. If making the name look like a web address messes up the design then don't bother with it. We are not sure if we want to use the website name as our official name, but we might at some point want to do that.

The colors we like are similar to the green and black of the Monster Energy drink logo.

We'd also like to be able to get or know the font that used for the design we choose. We will likely put other things on the logo in the future, changing out the word that comes after "essential". The logo will have "essential church", but interior signs might use the logo, but say "essential guests", "essential coffee", etc. We would want the ability to do that on our own in the future.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Young upper-middle class families. They are into things that are stylish, classy, modern, and clean.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Everything from Apple Computers & ipods: clean, simple, and

Monster Energy drink: Colors and simplicity with a slight edge

Grace Point Church (see GracePoint.com): Nice lowercase letter logo that is clean and simple. I just like the circle-g. I wish they did a better job of matching their name to the look of the circle-g.

www.essentialchurch.blogspot.com: This was an in-house concept that we did in about an hour. The color, spacing, and font choice needs some work. Feel free to use it as inspiration, make it better, or do something completely different. We're not attached to it by any means.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Nothing that screams cheesy and typical churchy feel. If there are Christian images in the design we'd rather they be subtle or extremely well done. For the most part we're not looking for an overtly Christian or church look.

The site will strive to make art viewing and collecting more approachable to aspiring collectors by providing a "hip", sophisticated, and straightforward online art viewing and purchasing experience. The site will also provide this audience with a rich source of information on a variety of key art topics such as art genres and styles; framing and hanging art; and national and international art markets.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need an Exhibitions Department logo to use on our website www.exhibitionsdepartment.com (currently under construction) and all of our printed materials.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

See attached PDF document entitled "Exhibitions Department.Favorite Logo Design Elements".

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

- Visual icon that symbolizes the company identity as an informative, fun, hip, sophisticated, art oriented organization and website

Fix390 Logo

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Fix390 means "fix three things in ninety days". Fix390 is a thinking framework for tackling challenges in your personal or work life that helps you prioritize and focus on the three most important things for the next ninety days - no more, no less.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A clean and simple but elegant design for a logo that works for a web site as well as an embroidered patch on a hat or shirt.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Thoughtful individuals, professionals, and organizations who want to work smarter.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We like design that is reasonably contemporary but not too trendy or flakey. A design that will stand the test of time and still look fresh years from now. Color preferences are open at this stage. Fonts, case, spacing, etc also are open - just make sure that you "don't make me think" the instant I see the logo.

Logo for social media/Web 2.0 thought leader Charlene Li

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

The logo is for my new company, Altimeter Group. The goal of the company is to provide thought leadership on social and emerging technologies. I am a former Forrester analyst and the co-author of a bestseller book, “Groundswell”. But I do not want the logo to reflect the book as I do not own the copyright to ANY part of the book (not the cover, artwork, text, graphics, etc.) Rather, I’d like the logo to reflect the future path I am carving with Altimeter Group.

My goal is to help leaders and their companies understand how to deal with and thrive with social and emerging technologies. The unique way that I add value is understanding these new technologies and how people use them -- I'm an active user of these new technologies and also actively seek out new ways that technologies impact people. But I've also always kept a foot in the business world, so am able to understand and interpret how companies are and will be impacted by the adoption of these new technologies.

I often describe what I do as traveling to a different world, understand how it works, and return back to bring others to it. Words like shaman, sherpa, and guide, are often used to describe what I do.

Why the name Altimeter? It’s an instrument used to tell you your altitude. I give a "reading", so to speak, on where emerging technologies are heading. I can do this at a high level, but can also come down and provide a detailed view of how individuals and companies are being impacted. In addition, the gauge/instrument aspect is that I provide a consistent, hype-resistant view into the world, objective, reliable, and trustworthy. This last point is important to stress. The logo has to invoke trust and integrity, but also clarity and simplicity.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

I need a logo that I can use as the basis for a Web site design. It will also be the foundation for a PowerPoint presentation template, business card, as well as formatted, formal reports that I will publish in PDF in the future. The logo needs to work in both color as well as in black and white.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

There are several audiences, and they all have the same goal of tapping into my thought leadership on social and emerging technologies. But they do it for different reasons, namely:
- Fortune 1000 companies. These are strategy and marketing professionals, sometimes executives. They want to use the ideas I have to be more competitive and just as important, to avoid pitfalls.
- Press. They will call me frequently to get quotes on news events like mergers, product announcements, and funding.
- Start ups. They want to brief me on their businesses, so that I will say good things about them to clients or write about them on my blog.
- Individuals. They want to contact me for introductions, connections, advice, and in general, to network with me.

Most people know my name and have come to rely on my judgment and insight. But they don’t know my new brand. many new people do a search on my name and then link over to my site where they see the brand for the first time.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

My desire is that the logo be simple in both design, typeface, and colors, but not so simple that it’s just typography. I’m repeatedly drawn to logos with transparency. ’ve included a Word doc with examples and detailed explanations. Of course, I love the Apple logo! Simple, 3D, transparent.

The current design at www.altimetergroup.com is a basic Typepad template, which I chose because of the simple, graphical treatment with the squares, and the color scheme because it didn’t clash with the book cover. Another example is at wiki.altimetergroup.com.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

The logo must have the word “Altimeter” in it, but not necessarily “Group”. There are times when I use just the word Altimeter, such as “The Altimeter” when I’m describing the blog, or “The Altimeter Wiki” (which is at wiki.altimetergroup.com). The logo needs to be flexible enough to stretch across multiple purposes, sites, and uses.

On my business card, I’ll have my logo, the words “Altimeter Group”, and my contact information. The logo thus can be just “Altimeter” or “Altimeter Group”. My concern with having “Group” included is that it can clutter the logo unnecessarily, and also that it limits the logos use when I use the Altimeter brand by itself.

Full Page Ad

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are an adirondack chair company that has been building chairs out of HDPE for 20 years.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need an ad designed that is 1 full page with bleed. It needs to be in the PDF/X1a format.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our market is furniture retailers and contract clients (interior designers and hotels). We want to emphasize that we were the first in the industry and that we have evolved from our first adirondack chair in 1989 to nearly 160 products today. We need to visually show them how our product has progressed. We also want to cast the vision for them to partner with us since we are the progressive innovator in the industry. We would like to have a subtle theme somewhere in the lower corner of the ad that shows that this product is made in the USA.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We like clean cut. Not too many words. We like to keep it a bit classy. Don't be afraid to add a bit of flair. We want the logo to be a focal point on the top. One concept that would be neat is if it could start black and white with the original adirondack chair and then turn color with the new product. Open to any other ideas that convey a time line. The files titled "original" and "original2" are the photos of our original product (the AD5030 model).

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

The Poly-Wood Logo. Made in the USA at the bottom. Minimal words to make the point. 1989 should be in there to show how long we have been around. Any other ideas that convey that we are the leaders and innovators in our industry. Our website: www.polywoodinc.com and our phone number (877) 457-3284 listed somewhere at the bottom.

It should be sitting upright and the tail should be on the right side of the character, since it will be positioned to the right of our logo. The character should look good at 50px tall as well as 500px

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

We are targeting mainstream internet users who are not very tech savy. Our site relies very heavily on their trusting us and thinking we are cool. This character will help convey these ideas.

Pimp My Resume

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

I build creative, innovative strategies to find the best professional talent in the world for the brands that I work for. Im very passionate about what I do. I see myself as a game changer in my career. I've worked for some huge brands and the attributes that have anchored my career are...the fact that I execute and compete with the mentality of an athlete and the sensibility that i describe as a tempered tenacity. Im innovative and creative in my problem solving.

More about me:

Ideation

You are fascinated by ideas. What is an idea? An idea is a concept, the best explanation of the most events. You are delighted when you discover beneath the complex surface an elegantly simple concept to explain why things are the way they are. An idea is a connection. Yours is the kind of mind that is always looking for connections, and so you are intrigued when seemingly disparate phenomena can be linked by an obscure connection.

Maximizer
Excellence, not average, is your measure. Taking something from below average to slightly above average takes a great deal of effort and in your opinion is not very rewarding. Transforming something strong into something superb takes just as much effort but is much more thrilling.

Input
The world is exciting precisely because of its infinite variety and complexity. If you read a great deal, it is not necessarily to refine your theories but, rather, to add more information to your archives.

Futuristic

“Wouldn’t it be great if . . .” You are the kind of person who loves to peer over the horizon. The future fascinates you. As if it were projected on the wall, you see in detail what the future might hold, and this detailed picture keeps pulling you forward, into tomorrow.

Significance

You want to be very significant in the eyes of other people. In the truest sense of the word you want to be recognized. You want to be heard. You want to stand out. You want to be known. In particular, you want to be known and appreciated for the unique strengths you bring. You feel a need to be admired as credible, professional, and successful.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

I'm pursuing a few companies that I would like to be employed by and I need raise my creative/design look, feel and expression of my resume. I need the result to have the format flexibility and scalability to present in hard copy, email and at some point integrate into my website without losing any value.

I have great content and brands, it just needs to be delivered in a way that tells a Visual and Visceral story
I need it to inspire and excite

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

My primary Targets:
http://www.stoneyamashita.com
http://nike.com

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

I'm inspired by the designs of

mid-century design (clean, elegant with standout features)
apple
fastcompany

fonts and color: Clean, confident, compelling and professional with a subtle sexiness

Logo for a technology community consisting of students, industry and academia

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

UTHATWORKS is the name of a community that lives online and offline. It is focused on bringing together the Chicagoland and Illinois region's (but that shouldn't impact the design) technology higher education students, industry, and the academics that teach and support technology higher education. Together they form the community that will discuss (via blogs and seminars) the skills and knowledge that is needed in a 21st century technology graduate. The students will be further supported by being offered industry mentors and internships to ensure that by graduation they have the soft and hard skills to be employed. UTHATWORKS is for all of the region's higher education technology students. It is not limited to any school or grade point.

Through the online community located at UTHATWORKS.org, we will connect students, industry and academia.

Envison a place where all of the region's technology students, all the business people, all the technology academics come together to discuss careers and skills with the sole purpose of supporting the student. Students are the future and they represent the future wealth of the region.

Envison a student graduating and having an "Advisory Board" (friendslist) that consists of 4 years of people that they have met at UTHATWORKS through internships, mentors, seminars, gatherings.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A logo for UTHATWORKS. It will be the identity for the brand. It will be used online, offline, biz cards.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Technology Higher Education Students: we want them to feel that they belong to a community that cares about their careers and where they are headed. This is our primary focus - the students in the technolgy talent pipeline.

Industry: all business - small to large - employ technology knowledge workers. Through UTHATWORKs, they will be supplying mentorships, internships, and "friends" to the region's students. We need them to want to belong and volunteer their time/energy/knowledge

Academia: needs to be the strong 3rd partner of the community. They need to feel included and that they are a partner.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Contemporary / Current/ Forward Thinking

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Don't make it look like education.

Don't make the word "Work" look like a Road sign

Don't use a swoosh

Do make it forward thinking

Do make the "U" stand for "You" and not "University"

Logo: Illinois Technology Foundation

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

The Illinois Technology Foundation’s mission is to support the development of the Illinois/region's human capital talent pipeline - focus is on technology talent. We as a nation and a region have not done a good job of building our human capital talent pipeline. This issues has been documented and there is some evidence that parents who had technology careers have discourage their children from going into the field. There are huge decreases in the enrollment of higher education technology degrees.

The Foundation is focused on rebuilding and fostering a regional environment that will created awareness with grammar school children as to technology career paths, refine skills in high school, and support the region’s higher education graduates in the pursuit of a relevant technology degree.

ITF does this by developing and managing targeted programs within the talent pipeline, as well as supporting those designed by others. This is done by facilitating relationships and efforts across industry, academia, and students.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo for the Foundation. The complete name is "Illinois Technology Foundation" . We are unable to get the url "ITF", but we do have variations of the longer name. The site URL is illinoistechfoundation.org

We need a strong identity for the name.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Industry (user of technology or suppliers)

We want them to think that we are will help them overcome a problem in developing the technology talent pipeline. We want them to think we start at the beginning of that pipeline by getting kids to understand the careers in the field, we want high school students to be taught technology principals and uses that prepare them for 21st century jobs. Then we want them to know that our region's students and educators are working to make technology higher education even more relevant.

Academia

Building a talent pipeline includes engaging academia. We want to supply them with current knowledge and access to industry to support their efforts in teaching 21st century technology principals and skills. We want to be a partner by bridging industry and academia.

Parents

We want them to know that the Technology is a viable career choice for their children. Technology careers are not from their generation. We will educate them on this.

Students

We become a resource for them when looking at career alternatives.

Volunteers

We are nonprofit and we will need to make volunteering a rewarding and easy thing to do.

Foundations

We will look for funding from foundations and we will need to inviting for them

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Contemporary design that says "new ideas" "new ways of doing things"

Forward thinking (looking).

Clean is preferred over fussy.

Color is not important yet, as we don't want a traditional logo.

Font: see description above

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

We don't want to see elaborate or fancy designs. We are looking for clever given the long name.

Logo for consulting company

Trem Two, Ltd. is a privately held technology consulting company, and it's about time I had some business cards made and threw up a website. So, as such, I'm looking for a logo!

I apologize in advance for not having too much guidance initially, but here are a few pointers:

1) I like clean and simple designs

2) Modern is cool, but I don't want to err to far on the side of that "Web 2.0" look

3) I would ideally like something I can use with or without the accompanying text

I will definitely add to this as submissions start to flow in and I get a better sense of what I'm looking for.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are starting a website about searching for a college and how to stay organized doing it. We will sell organizing tools for the parents or highschool student to use.
w00t is a new word used by teens meaning "hooray"

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo that we can put on our website banner and can also put on the cover of our products. Our website address is http://www.collegew00t.com (those are zeros).
We have not yet added our top banner but once we do it will look something like the one on this page: http://demotemplates.joomlashack.com/lightfast/

We can put the logo in this area, which is 776 x 235, along with some text about our site/products.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Teens and parents of teens in the USA who are searching for colleges.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Our original idea was an image of a teen with an acceptance letter (or large white envelope) in one hand, with both hands up in a "hooray" sort of pose.
We are open to other ideas as well! It can be colorful, or a silhouette, simple or complex.
The existing "collegewoot" in rainbow colors will be changed to match the new logo.
