We need a logo for our new online magazine website, ELECTRICBLUE.tv

Our website content is mainly about guys stuff like cool objects, gadgets, mens fashion,  art+design, new music, films, music videos, animations, video games, food &amp; drink.

We ARE design focused, indie, modern, quirky, light-hearted.

We AREN&apos;T macho or mainstream.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A logo for the website&apos;s brand and therefore website header. The logo will sit top-left on the website. The design and color palette of the website will be influenced by the logo you design. The logo may use whatever color background you choose, white &amp; black included. The header will then take on that color. For example white foreground, blue background.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target audience is guys aged 21 to 39 who are into the objects for their beauty as much as their function, the latest music, new trends, cool t-shirts, obsessed with good design and visual arts, love video games for their graphics as much as the gameplay, they love quirky gadgets and cool innovations.

They think of ELECTRICBLUE.tv as the leading source for all the things they love, it&apos;s the place they can always come to find something cool, have a laugh, find a link they&apos;d pass on to their friends or kill some time watching some videos.

We&apos;d like to see something bold that would appeal to other graphic designers as our audience are very creative themselves.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

This isn&apos;t a necessity, but logos like this http://www.crowdspring.com/portfolios/slavic/angel_ash that include a complimentary graphic to accompany the words are great. However just text is fine also.

Obviously the color blue can feature in the logo, but isn&apos;t compulsory. If you do use blue, it can be used in any part, the text, graphic or background. Where it&apos;s used is up to you. In addition you can use up to three other colors as well as blue.

A lightning bolt or some other symbol for electricity could be incorporated in the logo, but again not a necessity. It could replace a letter like seen here http://www.crowdspring.com/projects/graphic_design/logo/logo_for_fresh_ideas_inc/gallery/fi_3    or appear between the two words i.e. electric/blue.tv

The candidate is progressive and forward thinking in an area that has gone through a transformative growth process over the last several years.  The underlying qualities will be integrity, balance and vision, although they do not need to be specifically referenced on the logo.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

The logo will be featured on a website, as well as signs, brochures, pamphlets, and other election-related material.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

The municipality is fairly conservative but has seen a tremendous amount of growth in recent years.  The candidate would like a logo that represents a positive (affirmative) forward thinking view.  The candidate will run an inclusive campaign, that encourages participation and fosters open discussion.  

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

The slogan &quot;Run with Brent&quot; must be clearly written in a strong legible font on the logo.  We are open to considering most color combinations, although would prefer to stay away from yellows as the prominent color.  Font should not be thin or potentially difficult to read at a distance.

Greenup will be a sparkling green tea beverage made with 100% real fruit juice.  

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We are in need of a logo that will ultimately be used in the design of our bottle.  Greenup will be packaged in 12 oz clear long neck bottles (beer bottle).

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Greenup Sparkling Green Tea will tap into the burgeoning environmentally consumer consciousness while targeting local retailers and consumers in the regional markets.  The target customer will be mostly young (20-35), healthy (mindful of what they eat), and active (enjoying recreational activities such as running, hiking, and biking).

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

One of our favorite bottle designs comes from Izze, makers of sparkling fruit juice.  The minimalism and basic use of colors really helps to make the product stand out on the shelves.

Another favorite is the Orange Crush bottle, which is another great use of minimalism and simple colors.  We also like the outline of the letters and how the outline runs around the outside of the orange slice.  We feel this ties it all together very nicely.  (This is also where we believe our attached logo/label design falls short).

We plan to incorporate the minimalist approach while also giving Greenup its own unique feel.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don&apos;t want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

One item we wish to steer clear of is any use of tea leaves, or cherry blossoms, or anything &quot;oriental&quot; in the design of our logo.  

We have attached an initial concept as well as an image of the orange crush bottle.  The concept we have drawn shows the direction we are wishing to go; however, it feels a bit unfinished to us and we&apos;d like to see it move more towards the cleaned up look of the orange crush design.  

The original flavors will be blackberry, peach, tangerine, and white grape.  The colors used in the logo would reflect each flavor on their respected bottle with one being the main logo used as the main brand image (possibly with its own unique colors).</description>

Generally they are active people/groups who would like to bicycle during their vacation- people who care about what kind of bike they rent. In general they could be described as follows:
-	Groups of friends, families, who want to stay in one villa in Tuscany and then like the idea of cycling because dad/uncle/mom is a cyclist at home (or just a few of the group may rent bikes) – about 40% of our customers
-	Tour companies (small or big) who don’t have bikes, vans, enough guides/drivers in Europe and so use us for their bicycling “hardware” needs for classic bicycle tours or for events such as chasing the Tour de France, racing in one-day European races, - about 20%
-	.Young professionals, traveling for 1 or 2 weeks in Europe who need a good bike – about 15% of our customers

Simple yet strong fonts, not too stuffy or unaproachable though.  Grey with bright green.  Or bright blue and brown.

No play on American theme because of the &apos;Star&apos; in our name.  OK to have some kind of Star in the design but nothing patriotic.  No red, white and blue...</description>

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We would like ideas for a new logo design that can be used both for our website AND an iPhone app icon (100px by 100px). We currently have a text based logo (as seen on our website). We would like the new logo design to include a text based elements (you can use our existing design or recommend new ones) plus a graphical based design that can go on the left of the text for the website logo AND as a stand alone icon for an iPhone app (not yet developed). The graphical element needs to convey what apptizr is about - helping users easily find mobile apps. One idea is around an image of icons of a bunch of mobile apps served on a silver platter (playing on our tagline), but we are definitely open to all ideas. We also like the general color schemes of our current logo/site but are open to change.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target users are heavy mobile application users. Currently our service is limited to the iPhone although we may expand to other mobile platforms over time (Android, BlackBerry, WebOS, etc). We want these mobile app users to think of Apptizr as the easiest and best way to discover high quality and cool apps for their iPhone or mobile device. They should think of Apptizr as cool, high tech, and easy to use.

We like the Open Table logo and iPhone app icon because it has the name, but also the graphical image that depicts tables and is versatile for both their website and the iPhone app. Mint.com&apos;s logo and iPhone app icon is also good in this way. We like the 4Square logo and iPhone app icon because it&apos;s simple and unique.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don&apos;t want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

For our website logo the design needs to include the name &quot;apptizr&quot; (again, you can simply use our existing logo or you can create your own), but it also needs a graphical element preferably to the left of the name. The ideal graphic is roughly square in dimension so it can be used for the image to the left of the &quot;apptizr&quot; name but also as a stand alone icon for our iPhone app. The design should look good with our existing color scheme of our website (silver/ grey / orange). Given the fact that the icon needs to work as a iPhone app icon, it needs to look good when it&apos;s dimensions are small (say 40px by 4px), so it shouldn&apos;t be too complicated. </description>

If you have ever watched women’s pool on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classics, or on a variety of International Networks, then you are likely to be familiar with the Women’s Professional Billiard Association (WPBA) and its professional players. 

The WPBA was created in 1976 as the first and only women’s professional billiard tour.  It is a not-for-profit, member-owned organization that hosts professional billiard tournaments featuring top-ranked players from all over the globe.   The organization has grown from its roots as a playing tour into an international entity involving many facets of billiards.  The WPBA is dedicated to the advancement of women players and advocates to increase players’ involvement worldwide.   

As the premiere women’s professional tour worldwide, the WPBA is home to several universally recognized &quot;stars&quot;, such as Allison Fisher, who is already one of the most visible sports personalities on television, particularly ESPN.  She is considered by many sports experts and professional players to be one of the most accomplished athletes of all time.  We have Jeanette Lee, aka &quot;The Black Widow&quot;, who is ubiquitous within the billiards world, with millions of fans around the globe.  Her popularity has helped spur growing interest and participation in cue sports.  We have Xiaoting Pan, who is a mega-star and has amassed unprecedented recognition in her homeland (China) and was honored with the opportunity to carry the Olympic torch during the opening ceremony at the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing.  We also have the young Austrian, Jasmin Ouschan, who has quickly made her mark on the WPBA tour as a fierce and powerful opponent.  She regularly participates in world-class, open events featuring the top male players.  


HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

With stronger, more consistent, and more accessible branding, the WPBA will create opportunities to level the playing field with other professional sports organizations, increase the value of exposure for partners and sponsors, upgrade the fan experience and ensure WPBA members receive the same opportunities and benefits as other professional counterparts around the globe.

Our first step to improving the WPBA brand is to develop a new logo.  We need a logo that can be used on the website, in print, on merchandise, and on patches and stickers.  The logo needs to be the common thread across a wide range of media, so it needs to be versatile and clean.  While we think integrating “WPBA” into the logo is important, we are not expecting it to be the centerpiece.   In other words, we are open to any design with the WPBA integrated nicely.  

This logo will appear on a variety of media so it needs to be clearly seen and recognizable at a distance.  The logo should be simple and timeless, yet incredibly elegant and sophisticated in its design.  Finally, the logo should not be overly masculine or feminine, but rather neutral.  Ideally, the logo should be able to work in different colors.

When people see the logo, they should see the logo as an extension of the WPBA, which would be clean, strong, timeless, fluid, universal/worldly – It should articulate confidence and grace.

The icon within the logo should portray a ‘cutting edge’ sports look…clean and strong.  We would like it to show energy, elegance and simplicity.  We would also consider the use of a beautifully designed ‘W’ to include these same concepts…simplicity is a must.

We want to shy away from any kind of ‘stock design’. Example: No ‘cut and paste’ women with cue in silhouette designs… Classic 9-ball, 8-ball, cues, cue stick or rack, over use equipment related graphics.  

A reference or something symbolic to playing the sport of pool in the logo is not required, though would be considered if you can make it happen tastefully.  People have tried to use pool balls in the past unsuccessfully, so we suggest avoiding that route.  </description>

Not satisfied with the current “Taco Truck” serving gourmet food in Los Angeles, we went out and found a British Double Decker Bus, we figured add another level, take things to a new level.

WORLD FARE IS COMING!   After months of kitchen design and redesign the bus is being built! A full kitchen on the bottom, with rooftop dining open air! Bar Counter height granite tables and granite counters around the railing it will be the place to eat. Lounge music and soft white LED lighting under the tables. 

The bus is going to be launched in Los Angeles and we want it to be a place to have a great meal with like minded people, the bus is going to bring people together through different flavors, textures of our international dishes. We are taking the best of global dishes and making them available through our Chef&apos;s interpretation on these specialties. Great food is a cornerstone of what we are doing and integral to the success and branding of the concept. The bus: timeless, non pretentious, streets of LA.

The upstairs deck will have a black floor, white granite counters going around the outside of the bus so people can stand and eat and socialize.

There will be 3 umbrellas on the rooftop deck please see images of umbrellas below.

The sides of the bus will be lit at night with Halogen lights, we definitely want striking images and bold colors.  

The Skin wrap of the bus needs to make a statement tell a story at the very least it needs to depict something worldly and something to do with food, it is a double sided billboard that will be the first thing that gets people interested in the bus.  It will define the brand story.

We are really excited about this business and brand we are trying to create and we can&apos;t wait to see some exciting ideas from the Crowdspring community that hopefully can become our first mobile restaurant.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need an initial design for the full wrap of the bus, a side view can be presented firstly with maybe the wrap on the front as per bus image view below.  This needs to tell the brand story and vision.  It is important that this image needs 

There will be no windows on the side of the bus so the design can be a flat design all the way along the side.  

Firstly a design concept will be chosen based on the design concept   On project award we will  need artwork for the full die lines that are given.  We need this in high resolution as we will be making this the size of the bus.

We have 3 major customers, Professionals, 25-50 hard working want to grab a good lunch but they just want to step out the building to get it. 11am - 3pm Event catering - same audience as above the bus is mobile and will create the event. Possible Bar and DJ on the top deck, kitchen serving food below. Late Night Club/Bar Crowd, 21 - 40 party goers leaving the bar and club who want the night to continue and have some great food.

Sum-Met is different as a corporate name from two points:

1. Sum-Met like a mountain top, something to be achieved, a destination, yet a goal.  
2. Sum-Met is also a mathematical term, the sum of all parts - this reflects a team approach too.  Project Management is an algorythm, or mathematical process.  So, when we bring together all the pieces, then we have the whole.

Sum-Met is also environmental aware and people oriented.

From a design perspective, there are several options to go.  A stylized &quot;SM&quot;; or, &quot;M&quot;; or, mountain, maybe in gold colour.  Very simple lines.  Yet, I am open to ideas and concepts.  I have seen some very good work and examples which I would not have thought of before.

Ultimately, the colours &amp; logo should lend themselves to an interactive website with a blog etc.

Tortuga means turtle in Spanish, and we will incorporate that imagery into our brand. We chose the name because turtles carry their homes on their back just like traveling backpackers.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo. The logo must have two parts that can be used together or independent of each other.

The first part is an image that sleekly reflects the Tortuga brand. It should incorporate a turtle motif, but it doesn&apos;t need to be too obvious. 

The second part is the company name, TORTUGA BACKPACKS, written as a unique trademark. The font and style should reflect our company.

When used together, the image should rest above the written logo.

(1) Color

The main color of Kellogg School of Management and Northwestern University is purple. So, we would prefer colors that go well with purple. Please visit these two sites.

(2) Shape

In terms of shape, the world is your oyster. Please show your creativity. 

We will later turn the logo into a wide banner, thus it would be a plus if the logo can be flexibly decomposed, but this is not a main consideration for now.

(3) Fonts

Although we have no preferences for fonts, we would like the one that can be easily recognized.

Now with a name like OTONUM we see our offer as a way to break free from gravity, like an electron jumping out of its orbit. Would like to illustrate the concept of breaking out of the box, standing out in a crowd, jumping out of orbit.

      <description>We are looking for a fresh new design for a couple of existing sites that are different brands within the same group of companies, and will therefore have a common look and feel. Due to this we require a design that will look good with a variety of base colours. The companies in question provide security related devices for buildings (e.g. revolving doors, CCTV systems, car park barriers etc).  The design must suit the type of audience buying these products.

With regard to look and feel the client has some preferences - most prominently a light, clean and organised look.   The client likes the boxed look of http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2008/en/us/default.aspx as well as the background concept.

Another site of interest is http://www.principalcorp.co.uk.  This site has a navigation concept they are keen on e.g a main nav across the top of the page, a sub-nav down the left side as well as another fixed nav element which contains links to common pages across the site.  It is envisaged that each main nav element will have a drop down to aid faster navigation.

Attached are a few wireframes that show the sorts of layout that the site will use.  These layouts will be used inside a content management system so therefore must suit the potential variability that this might provide, whilst taking into account the fixed elements such as navigation.

Colour wise, the only existing colours are those in the logos - orange and blue.  It would be nice for the designs to differentiate the brand using these colour schemes where possible.

The landing page should make prominent use of the new/actual member feeds rather than stock imagery.

Targeting men/women aged 40-50.

The brand/site is classy, demure and understated. It should be provocative but not explicit. It should appeal to someone who is curious but cautious about casual dating. They want to join a site that isn&apos;t threatening and has a element of class to it. It should also offer secrecy - it can be a guilty pleasure of the person registering. 
The landing page can be quite sparse; it shouldn&apos;t reveal too much but give a hint of what is behind the registration - it should tease the user and make them want to explore further. The imagery should be stylish but subtly erotic and appeal to a more sophisticated, older age group many of whom may have previously been married and now single again and looking to experiment. Landing page should use stock imagery - NOT use new member feed. 

Brand 3 - www.promiscuouswomen.co.uk

Targeting men aged 30-45.

The brand is racy and provocative but not tacky. This brand is like a high class escort rather than a £20 lap dance. They&apos;re both sexy but one is classy and un-obtainable, the other is in your face and degrading. The landing page should be erotic and mischievous and leave the user wanting to see more, much more! Imagery should be bold &amp; strong –using 100% female images. Women on this site aren’t wilting violets, they’re sex kittens who know what they want. Imagery should be a blend of stock photography and the actual/new user feed. 

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

See above for specific demographic breakdown - roughly Men and women aged 25-50 

Men represent 70% of this market so designs should be geared towards men but not alienate women too much.

http://www.canoodle.com - this site is also clean &amp; contemporary and useful for Hot Young Things. But it still lacks real call to action - the landing page&apos;s absolute priority is to drive registrations.

We are the local section (chapter) of SAE International – formerly known as the Society of Automotive Engineers.  We serve the engineering community of practicing engineers as well as college chapters of our organization, and cover a geographic region centered on Chicago from the Wisconsin border south to Kankakee and west to Rockford.  Our technical community has involvement with areas of vehicle engineering, design, and development in areas ranging from passenger cars, to commercial vehicles (trucks and construction equipment) and even into aeronautics and space vehicles.  While we have the strongest historical association with the automotive industries (the “A” in SAE) we do currently serve a broadened audience that extends into construction equipment, aeronautics, and marine engineering.

As the Chicago section we stage professional meetings with speakers, tours, and displays of technical interest to those in the vehicle industries, and the many component industries that supply them, such as engines, tires, radiators, vehicle electronics, fuels and lubricants, etc.  We also support the college chapters in their activities, which center on the design, construction, and competition motor sport vehicles such as race cars, high fuel efficiency vehicles, low emission snowmobiles, and model airplanes.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a new logo design that would be primarily used on banners and placards at our events.  It should suggest our tie to our parent organization (incorporation of SAE bug, use of same blue color scheme) and should evoke our tie to the automotive vehicle industry, and would be nice if it also suggested our Chicago location.  (Yeah – you could use the skyline, but everyone uses that).  Maybe there is something you could do with other iconic Chicago images like – Navy Pier, the Chicago Theater marquee, Buckingham Fountain, the Millennium Park “Bean” sculpture, the stars of the Chicago flag, Chicago Water Tower, etc.

It should be fresh and bold – but not too cartoonish.   Color use should be confined to our corporate Blue and perhaps with black added.

To be best used on horizontal banners, or along the top/bottom of placards it should have a horizontal layout with an aspect ratio of between  2:1 to 4:1. (Length:Height)


OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Principally our own membership and event guests who are getting tired of looking at our old felt banner that looks like it belongs to a high school sports team from the 1950’s.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

The SAE bug – that would be good to incorporate – notice that the slanted characters implies motion and the line through the center is reminiscent of a highway dividing line:


The Washington DC section has a great logo that suggests their location, incorporates the SAE bug, and uses the preferred color scheme.

Milwaukee section of SAE has a skyline logo that incorporates (I guess) the city’s distinctive Art Museum (on the left).  Don’t like this one quite as much as the Washington DC.

Maybe something could be done with the word “Chicago” similar to the Bandag logo where the tail of the “g” has a tire tread pattern (suggests vehicle industry) where the SAE bug is worked into the tread pattern.


WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don&apos;t want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

In the logo we may be referred to as The Chicago Section of SAE”, or “SAE Chicago Section”.  No other naming method is permitted.  (No references such as SAE International Chicago Section).

The logo must be either black, white on a dark background (dark is any equivalent color value richer than 50% black), PMS 301 blue, or a suitable dark blue.  Sufficient contrast must be created between the logo, type, and background as to allow readability from a distance.

The Section logo cannot “sandwich” or cover / obstruct the SAE bug.

The official parent organization’s rules on what can be used can be found in Section 5.2.5	Policy for SAE Logo Use – which is posted online at:
