This is a good start - of your two designs, I prefer this one - though I'm not sure about the typewriter on the vertical.
I like your treatment of the nav bar, though not crazy about the fonts used in the words "Jennifer Jeffrey" - Wish we had more time to work on this, but the project is nearly closed.
