Wow! This is not what I expected but I like it. I realise it's work-in-progress but it's definitely along the right lines.
Here's some specific feedback:
- I like the way you've handled the blocks. The page doesn't feel crowded or busy. Nice use of white space.
- Is the title (and site slogan) a graphic image? It has to be text but it could have a cool background to make it look like a graphic.
- I like the way you've handled the sponsor's logo.
- I love the registration, login and search bar. The icons are really nice too.
- I like the way you've done the breadcrumb bar and the 'print this page' option.
- There is no (left column) menu on the front page. It is on all the other pages in the site.
- The menu has no submenus
- I don't like the menu colors or format. (They remind me of one of those suspicious 'parked' web domain pages!)
- I'm not sure about the photo. It looks good but it takes up a lot of room.
- All the 'Industry' and 'Regulatory Area' categories have to appear on the front page (so no need for a 'more' link)
- The two fat columns must be the same width as each other
Disclosure: This design includes photos, illustrations or fonts created by others and if the buyer picks it, they'll have to buy the rights. (?)
I am posting my work in progress to see if you think I am on the right track. If so I will make revisions and finish adding the content along with the additional interiors.
I am utilizing a stock photo in this comp that would need to be purchased or replaced with one you own.
