Many thanks for your two good entries. I much prefer this white background version so I'm only commenting on this one (although all the comments except the final one would also apply to your other version).
- I like the font of the site title but is the font going to be readily available to most browsers? It has to be a font (or at least font family) that will be almost guaranteed to be available to a browser.
- Also I fear the slogan is too close to the site title - the hanging "p" of "compliance" will overwrite it.
- The 'newsletter' and 'register' tabs look fantastic. Great idea.
- I really like your choice of colors. The only color I'm not too sure about is the dark grey background of the 'Industry' block but I think this is because it is the same color as the thin bar under the yellow breadcrumb bar and I don't like the way they run together. Can you make the bar a different color?
- I like your use of separator bars between the headings and content of the blocks. The colors, thickness and style of the separators are very nice indeed.
- But I'm not keen on the thin grey boxes around the blocks. I think they make the site look busy and crowded.
- I fear the grey box style tab on the 'Latest Discussion / Latest Blogs' block doesn't work. I think it may not be obvious to visitors to click on it.
- I think all your buttons work nicely. Nice size, nice font.
- I also like your icons. Almost all of them are single color so it might be worth making the 'newsletter', 'email alert' and 'RSS' icons single color too. It'd give a nice consistent feel to the page.
- Finally, on the white background version, the 'log in' text gets lost. Perhaps it could be moved to become one of the tabs?
Thanks again for your submission. I hope these comments help.
