Illustration is wonderful and color choice on both are really nice. I prefer the brown. One idea is to add a second or even a third dog, show a puppy's head and then adult and then senior.

Please also note the need for the design to encapsulate the entire bag w/ a window. This was mentioned in one of your other designs, but for assurance sake I am mentioning it here.
