Like the idea. Might need tweaks to sizing and font. Will submit to client.
I'd consider a bit of kerning play here, perhaps putting the sun slightly behind the r to make it look like it is rising - and tightening up the spacing. Not sure the client will buy in but it's a promising idea.
Disclosure: I created everything in my entry and I didn't copy anyone else's concept. (?)
Concept:
I did some research on the idea of "giving and receiving" and came across an article that used the metaphor of the sun to parallel the idea that those who give of themselves are "participants in the highest service function in the world". So I used the idea of the sun rising to illustrate the idea of giving and thus bringing about new opportunities and new days for others. The sun rises everywhere, both for those who receive, and for those who give (and are blessed for it).
It is a simple logo, one that can work in many forms. Please let me know if I am on the right track. If so, I can create the stationery for it.
