The blocks / strips looks very cool. Good job Kniedermeier!
A couple comments:
- the logo will be feature on the top area of the mobile web service. This logo design requires a certain height accommodation, so using up more vertical screen real-estate. Suggest separating the logo icon with the name portion. Preferably the logo icon can be used independent as navigation icon / website shortcut icon.
The logo icon also reminds me of a hand ... and have this thought I'd like to bring out this discussion. How can we present the hand (if it has to be one), that it'd not look like the 'policeman's "stop right there" kind of hand, but rather the "come'on, join us" kind of inviting hand?
Disclosure: I created everything in my entry and I didn't copy anyone else's concept. (?)
The 'blocky' rendering style of a hand also doubles as a city skyline and hints at the inner urban lifestyle of Thumbdive's users. The application's 'conversation tiles' are also evident in the multi-colored option.
