Could just be me, but lower case seems to read "haystack" more readily than UPPERCASE...

The guitar pick shape is supposed to represent a haystack...

The crowd in the bottom a field of haystacks...

The stick figure represents proactive people and how to pronounce HA.

The colored candy represents a stack of hard drives/database (pun intended).

The candies will be transparent and glow. The candies could light up to highlight the appropiate category (green for humanities etc.).

I don't think the words should be colored, just illustrating the ...(more)

I'm playing with needles to create the letters in the acronym. Feels edgy and innovative, but still conveys a serious tone appropriate for your organization.

P.S. This is a rough sketch. Wanted to get your feedback before I spent more time on the idea.

Here's another quick concept. Stronger font this time and san-serif.

Thank you for the thorough, detailed and entirely CONSTRUCTIVE criticism; such specificity is, sadly, all too rare hereabouts, and is genuinely appreciated.

Great feedback. On one key part I think I failed to distinguish that this is 2 separate designs. One all black and the other a gradient.

I will work on something that does convey your message more to the logo, I was going for a very dynamic logo and I lost sight ...(more)

Thanks for your submission.

We prefer cleaner, more simplistic designs. There is just a bit too much going on in this one logo.

I don't particularly like the conventional serif font used in the acronym. It does not read as techy, or modern, or cutting edge.

Their seems to be little ...(more)

A Unique and vibrant logo, I am open to any revisions. What do and don't you like?

UPDATE: Actually more "serious" was the wrong word re: the color palette, if anything we want less pastelish, more vibrant, acid-y, more techy, cutting edge color . . .

Thanks for your submission.

Appreciate the effort in designing a new iconic image, we like the sense of energy and innovation that your lightbulb conveys, but not sure if this is the icon for us.

Need something that says "international network," crossing of disciplines/boundaries, groundbreaking, cutting edge, etc.

Not crazy about the ...(more)

Thanks for your submission.

This seems too traditional, not conveying that HASTAC is really cutting edge, digital, technology promoting, groundbreaking, visionary.

The icon suggests a laurel wreath, which is an obvious nod to academia, but one that makes us seem to stodgy or conventional. Would not appeal to a younger, more ...(more)

This is coming across as too traditional/conventional.

Design needs to better reflect the cutting edge, groundbreaking, visionary nature of our organization.

Design needs to better convey capture other key elements of HASTAC: technology, thinking, learning, networking, boundary crossing, . . .

Like the concept of the of the Venn diagram-esque haystack and the pronunciation key

Dislike the "needle."

Font seems a bit too informal or childish, perhaps something a bit more modern or sleek?

Would need to work in the "Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Advance Collaboratory" piece.

We are thinking about the idea ...(more)

We are really loving this design.

Would like to see it perhaps with some more "serious" colors, but still conveying energy/innovation.

Would also like to see a different font for HASTAC, something that still conveys modern, but perhaps less "robotic". Love sans serif fonts.

Great treatment of "subtitle"

Really like the conception ...(more)

Tried to go for something related to a "needle in a haystack" with the mark on top. Simple, strong text rounds out the logo.

concept based off your ideas, the 'sections' in the haystack represent the varios networks.....coming together, to 'find' that neddle in the haystack:)
