i like this. what about if the gray piece the "talkshow247" is on was more of a ribbon, like a crest (see http://www.voncoelln.com/vc_crest_bw.gif ). That may be a good direction to take this and seems like you could definitely pull it off. Making the logo crest like.
not sure about the star as the main shape though. i'm not really sure what it should be - i'm not in love with stars, microphones, houses, etc. unless they can be done very simply and graphic. not too wacky.
