Thanks for the feedback - as the graphic follows the same shape as the M, I think people will be able to read the whole word.
How would you like to see this logo progressed? Different colours? Alternative fonts?
I liked the top design right away, with both the slimmer font and the transparency in the "M".
My only concern with replacing letters with graphics is that people already have a hard time trying to figure out how to read/say "altimeter". I'd be interested in feedback from others on this issue!
