One of my goals was to give you logos that were different than the others I was seeing in the mix. I knew this was probable not a "boardroom" contender...certainly not a tech boardroom...maybe a "Party City" boardroom.
I thought my first entry was my strongest...in terms of your mission and industry (The blue "A" with orange "path") Is that a contender? Are you still weeding out?
Thanks for the submission and also for the detailed comments - they are much appreciated. This is a very strong design and branding concept, but my concern with the balloon is that it also connotes "light" and "airy".
But I love the way the balloon is echoed in the "a" -- it's just a bit too whimsical when I'm talking to board of directors!
Disclosure: I created everything in my entry and I didn't copy anyone else's concept. (?)
Charlene,
Put this one in the whimsical category. This is definitely unexpected an may or may not fit your personality, but I wanted you to weigh in on that. Social media and Web 2.0 are certainly "open" forums when it comes to ideas and creativity. This submission reminds me a little of the whimsy in the "scissors M" logo in your suggestions doc.
I was playing with the shape inside the lowercase "a" and with a point--counterpoint concept with that shape. The balloon just sort of happened. Sometimes nice things happen in the creative process...unexpected ones certainly do.
So how does this fit your needs? I think the "altitude" concept is in there. And the idea of "creativity" and "out of the box" thinking. And if you are a free spirit, then it might jibe there too.
Consider this branding angle...what if you brought balloons to client meetings...just for room texture and smiles. Just like Leo Burnett always had a bowl of green apples. This could be your icon. You could change or customize the balloon color to a particular client as well.
OK, so there is my creative dump on that one. You're feedback is appreciated.
