I wanted the "N" to represent the front of navy ships.
The icon by the leg of the "N" references the northwest region, mountains and streams.
The sharp point of the "N" and the white space to the left creates an illusion of the "W"- short for west.
The bommerang shape references to news and broadcast that is available on the website- implies the notion of frequency and the reciprocation of ideas that exist in networking and communication among peers.
