Hi Elaine,

Here's some variations as you have asked for.
(In my opinion, bottom right is the good).

Of course, I decline that with reflection on typeface if one of this is selected.

For information, you have acces to all the three fellows in different layers. In this manner, you can make any combinaison you ...(more)

My idea revolved around using a horizon, which represents a guide or help. I also used a compass to showcase the navy and the sense of direction.

Hi again,
I darkened the yellow a bit so it will better stand out on a white background.
I added the b/w version and the favicon.
Cheers.

This icon doesn't seem to have anything to do with my site. Can you explain the thinking behind it?

I like the idea behind this concept. Thanks for incorporating something that really says the site is about people and communication.

Could you move the "Northwest" part of the name above the "Navy News" part? Maybe nestle it in there next to the big N on Navy.

I re-examined the graphics on the first concept and came up with this.

I hope that the aircraft carrier on water idea is more apparent in this example.

I wanted the "N" to represent the front of navy ships.

The icon by the leg of the "N" references the northwest region, mountains and streams.

The sharp point of the "N" and the white space to the left creates an illusion of the "W"- short for west.

The bommerang shape ...(more)

Thank you for the revisions. I really like the changes to the weight of the waves and the way you've carried the top wave all the way across.

The gold looks nice on the black background, though I'm not sure it will stand out at a distance on white. I'll have ...(more)

Hi again,
Thanks for the feedback. I adjusted the line thickness. It makes it less heavy.
I quit the blue as well and made it gold, like the stripes of a commander.
Cheers.

Thanks for really thinking about how to incorporate Navy imagery in an interesting way.

I'd like to see what it would look like if the lines on the waves weren't quite so heavy. I feel like they are overwhelming the type a little bit.

I'm having trouble with this icon. I'd like to see it with the lines thicker or the image shaded. I'm also not sure that these fonts complement each other well.

Thank you for your effort.

Working off the "N's" theme, tying them together as 3 large "N's" yet keeping the flow of the words.

Hi,
I started from the three stripes of a navy commander. The stripes become waves and I connected them in several different ways.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers.
