Thank you for being so responsive. This concept remains among my favorites because it is one of the few that conveys my site is for families.

My proposal. The idea was to use something that is related to navy and communication. So the icon/graphic is meant to be 3 n's, water (navy) and wire (communication).

my entry: the star indicates "northwest", and the right image is a sail, while also resembling waves.
The logo translates well in black and white (the bottom image is monocolor).

logo 2. With this design I used the Cardinal Marker for North and the Cardinal Marker for West therefore creating the meaning Northwest. I thought what more suitable than using the actual markers of the Navy. The only changes I made to the markers are that they are usually black and ...(more)

I used two colors to illustrate the relationship between navy personnel and family.

As you can see, it works just as well in gray scale/ black&white.

I hope the logo will communicate the function and potential of the website.
