Disclosure: I created everything in my entry and I didn't copy anyone else's concept. (?)
I hope you can excuse my lack of explanations. I usually can waffle on about my submissions, but with these I know in my head visually what I think needs to be done, but I don't feel right sprouting off a load of technical SEO speak about this and that when I really don't know.
I understand the basics, and have a feel of the symbology, the icons, the various visual representations, but tend to need to be guided from the technical aspect as to if the logo is hitting the mark or is way off.
Part of why CrowdSpring can be quite challenging as you cannot have these indepth client/designer briefs to go over these important issues.
But all we can do is try... :0)
I am more a less is less (more) person, usually minimal etc. So any imagery I try to keep either abstract or simple as possible without loosing any meaning. Try to focus on the typography aspects more in a lot of cases, the right fonts make a crucial difference. I only use commerically purchased fronts, so no free fonts used.
The icons you see are hand drawn and not taken from a clip art or picture library (unless I say otherwise).

Anywho, enough waffle.
