I can see what you mean, but this is starting to get a bit too complex.
The other design to me looked like three cogs, which could be imagined to all turn together for the good of the greater cog. It also suggested fluid growth ranging from small to big in a circular direction in the same direction as readin the logo. This suggested movement to me which was nice.
Disclosure: I created everything in my entry and I didn't copy anyone else's concept. (?)
What I have tried to do is create a negative amourphous shape within the spehere. The black act now as inverted channels rather than being actual positive connectors. Just trying to get away from the similar logos being used.
So its the same shape and style as the previous, but with organic shape routes eaten in. ALmost taken on th appearance of cell structure, probably something you totally don't want, but hey ho. :)
Its not perfectly balanced yet, but it's just an idea I wanted to run by you first. Been a bit tricky to produce this. :)
