This is a really strong concept and I quite like it. The font choice used for "Influential marketing blog" seems a bit flat - I wonder if there might be a stronger choice there, but you're definitely in the running.

Working with the idea of "catching fire" i created a logo that is largely iconographic with the text as a sort of accompaniment.

I have put together a couple of different Header mock-ups and also some "proof of concept" snap shots of a side bar.

This a second attempt after some feedback. The same typeface was used for the logo but it is now less rounded and cartoony. Also new colors were introduced. Tell me what you think, thanks.

Rather than using only those two colors I used a gradient of the two. Trying to find a good font and style of gradient.
