Creative brief

myTransponder will be a vertical social networking site for pilots.

Imagine if Facebook would have been built from the ground up to serve the needs of aviators.

This project takes a toungue-in-cheek approach to Web 2.0. We embrace all the Web 2.0 stuff with a nod and a wink.

I've got a start at the logo, which I'm pretty happy with, but it needs polish. It needs to be Web 2.0-ey, with all the usual treatments... We need your help to take the basic design and make it rock.

We've already nicknamed the icon element, "Ace."

The main brand color will be "windsock orange," since orange seems to be all the rage in Web 2.0 branding lately. (Orange would also be a neat color to paint an airplane.)

The site will be more Facebook than MySpace, with a clean mostly white page design with some blue, maybe grey, and possibly the orange that would integrate with the logo colors you pick.

So please have a look at the attached files, and let's see where inspiration takes you.

I'm impressed with the work submitted so far!

Anyone want to give a crack at the type treatment? I like Ace alot, but I'm willing to look at other ideas too!

So not married to the type component... so if you're feeling something different... bring it!

Before I came up with the pilot head icon... we batted around the idea of an logo that mashed up a WINDSOCK with a RSS ICON.

Anyone care to take a stab at THAT?
