I like the top 3 designs. I am sure I can one of these in some marketing material but for the web site I prefer the word next to the logo.
The bottom 4 designs look like they use the old thinner and more light design. Am I wrong?
As for proportions, this is totally my own preference. I am not that crazy about the font you are using. I think I like more the one I have in the logotype I submitted. I am not sure what font is that. I think is Arial but I am not sure. Maybe you can create a variation with that font.
The new color you introduce is a good idea and I appreciate your points but I do like more the pastel type of colors … I think
I like how the arms connect and blend with the outer of the circles without forming any corners.
I forgot to add that I made the highlights about 20% smaller as requested on this version, I think you have a good eye and that is a bit better proportioned. I tried a bit smaller and it starts to look out of sync with the proportions of the spheres.
Disclosure: I created everything in my entry and I didn't copy anyone else's concept. (?)
Sorry for the delay, we had a friendly dad's rugby game on a beautiful Saturday afternoon ;)
I made your requested changes. I made our connecting arms just a bit thicker. Any thicker and I think they lose their elegance. I went ahead and did the MS orange/yellow, but not sure it looks so great as a logo palate on it's own. I was not clear on your comment on proportions, so feel free to correct me if I am off on interpretation there.
You may look at this and wonder where the heck the ruby came from. Well I just liked it. I think it's a great complimentary color to your blue, which I would be hesitant to lose. I also think it lends more emphasis than your current green which seems a bit too "soft", without the needed punctuation. I took the liberty of including your logo blue on the color wheel with it's split compliments to better illustrate where I am coming from on that course.

In general good job.
