I like the logo although I am not that crazy about the text.
I am not sure about the shadow either. It seems that it is not real. I guess this is a more artistic design.

Changed the font as requested and good eye! The small version in green/blue had not been swapped for the version with thicker tendrils. It is now.

here are the spheres alone. All parts are on different layers. Text, shadow, connectors, main circle, glow, and hi-light are the layers.

Here are the spheres without connections, I took the shadow off for the moment. And yes, the shadow would be a separate layer you could turn off. As a matter of fact, everything is in grouped layers that can be turned of and on (shadow, main circle, center glow color, and ...(more)

lol you are right they dont look like it but im pretty sure they are its just the way the balls that overlay them are sitting if the bottom left diagram is anything to go by.

Thanks for these ideas.

I like the top 4 logos and you have an interesting combinations of colors on top right.
When I zoom in it seems that the shapes that connect the spheres are not symmetric.

I like the top 3 designs. I am sure I can one of these in some marketing material but for the web site I prefer the word next to the logo.
The bottom 4 designs look like they use the old thinner and more light design. Am I wrong?

I forgot to add that I made the highlights about 20% smaller as requested on this version, I think you have a good eye and that is a bit better proportioned. I tried a bit smaller and it starts to look out of sync with the proportions of the spheres.
